Dynamic Content

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 14, 2011    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hello,

I need to be able to rewrite a page based on the session.  For example, have the default page be "default1.aspx" and if the session id "setting=1" rewrite that requested to use a different page "default2.aspx".

This either needs to be a urlrewriter (iHttpModule Session).  This is where I started and for a few reasons I am having issues with the session and local vs server settings?

Another option is there a way to dynamically load a page with server variables as a template?

Any other ideas?

Dynamic Content In A ModalPopupExtender & Open A New Browser Window

Ok, after searching on how to do this and trying many different ways and failing, I finally got something working.  So, I decided to post it here to help anyone else that might be trying to do the same thing.  If anyone sees a better way to do this then please let me know. I want to populate an update panel with addresses so I use a repeater.  I want the user to click a link and that causes a modal popup to appear for the user to enter thier address so that they can get driving directions to the address listed in the Repeater.  I needed a way to get the address the user was driving to, to also be inside the modal popup because I need to pass it along later.  The reason the list of addresses are in an updatepanel are for paging purposes.  I've used a simple version of the repeater in this example though.<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <HTML> <body> <form id="Form1" method="post" runat="server"> <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager1" runat="server"></asp:ScriptManager> <asp:UpdatePanel ID="myMainPanel" runat="server" EnableViewState=false> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Repeater ID="rptItems" runat="server" EnableViewState=false> <ItemTemplate>

Using dynamic data for approval workflow / Content staging.

Hello people!

Started evaluating dynamic data around a week back, so not sure if a thread exists for this query.

Has anyone used or evaluated Dynamic Data for implementing a Approval Workflow?

For Example-
Products Table- ProductName, UnitPrice, Discount, .... ...., State (Sumbitted = 1, Updated = 2, Approved = 3, Rejected = 4)

Each time a Product's Discount is updated, it goes for approval from Senior Management. And only after approval the Product gets its new price.

In my project, I have quite many entities that need approval before they can be accepted or updated.

Thanks in advance! :)

SharePoint Tutorial - Content Types

SharePoint content types provide users with a way to manage and organize content in a more meaningful way. It's a reusable of settings you want to apply to a particular type of document in a library or item in a list.

Adding Dynamic Rows in ASP.NET GridView Control with TextBoxes and with Delete functionality

In my previous examples, I have demonstrated on how to add dynamic rows in GridView control with TextBoxes and how to save the values into the database. Now, seems that most of the developers are asking if how to add a delete functionality with it. So in this example, I'm going to show on how to delete a certain row in the dynamic GridView with TextBoxes.

Enabling Users to Maintain SharePoint Content

When SharePoint is installed as a corporate intranet, there is a considerable amount of effort involved in maintaining the content to keep the site relevant. As we discussed in the first few parts of this series, SharePoint has many built-in features to reduce the burden on the site administrator.

Some areas of the site usually contain less-dynamic information. Internal memos and corporate policies are common examples of this information. One option for this information is to post these documents in a document library. Documents in a library are often stored in a few different formats: Word, Acrobat (PDF), or HTML. Each of these formats has its drawbacks.

Dynamic Data Templates in GridView ASP.NET 3.5

At a high level, Dynamic Data Templates can be seen as a system to very quickly build up a User Interface linked with the relevant data model, immediately enabling you to perform CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete) on the database using the specified data source. They provide a powerful method for building up these kinds of applications, and I'm going to focus on an overview of what Dynamic Data Templates actually are, and a few ways of customizing them to suit industry needs.

ASP.NET 4.0 Dynamic Data and Many to Many Entity Framework Entities

I did not play much with Dynamic Data controls in VS2008 and just made a cool discovery in VS2010 Beta 2. This may not even be new, but as I'm sitting 30,000+ feet over the Atlantic ocean, I don't have access to VS2008 at the moment to check.

Dynamic Systems Development Model (DSDM) Methodology

The Dynamic Systems Development Model was developed in the U.K. in the mid-1990s. It is the evolution of rapid application development (RAD) practices. DSDM boasts the best-supported training and documentation of any of the agile software development techniques, at least in Europe. DSDM favors the philosophy that nothing is built perfectly the first time and looks to software development as an exploratory endeavor.

Application Vs. Content Pages in SharePoint

SharePoint has two types of ASPX pages. One type is the application page, also known as a _layout page. The other type of ASPX page is a content page, also known as a site page. Each of these page types is stored in a different location in SharePoint. When developers create custom ASPX pages, they must decide on the page type.
