Dynamicaly Adding Object tag to MasterPage Body section

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 14, 2011    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Using VS 2008 / .NET 3.5 / C#.

To load an external control I have to add an object tag to the body of my pages (<object classid=......>).

However, I do not want this tag to be on all pages, just the one aspx where it is needed. Since all my aspx files use the MasterPage, the only body section is in the MasterPage. Is there a programmatic way to add the object tag only in one aspx file at run time?

I know I can add an Id and runat=server in the body tag of the MasterPage, and refer to the body by its Id, but do not know how to add the object tag.

Thanks in advance.

Sharepoint Designer: ErrorMessage in Designview after adding new PlaceHolder to masterpage

Hi! I added a new PlaceHolder to the masterpage of my SharePoint-Site. Now when I switch to DesignView of a page which uses this masterpage in SPD most of the other PlaceHolders are not displayed and show a error message like "Error on creating control. Response is not available in this context". How do I prevent this problem? And what is the cause? Thank you very much for answers! Gerrit

Adding a reference to Microsoft excel object library

Its my first website with Visual studio 2005 and one of the things I used t do in VS2003 was to add the reference to Microsoft excel object library.

but the reference will not add, it does not give any error just goes back to the ide with no reference in the bin folder.

has anyone seen this or know what it is?

when adding web reference, I get "Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object."

 Hello.

I am trying to add a Web reference to a project.  So, I do the standard: right clicking on the project and select "Add Web Reference". The Add Web Reference appears and I navigate to the desired URL "http://ws.melissadata.com/dqws/Address.asmx" and click "Go".   This works in IE.  I see the results and two methods in the window.  However,  the "Add Reference" button and " Web Reference Name" texbox is disabled. And, I see the Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object." I think this is a proxy and or firewall issue?

I know the System.Net.WebProxy("corp-xxx-proxy.xxx", 8080);  and System.Net.NetworkCredential("xxxx", "xxxx"); [x replaces real values]

Any ideas where I can set this info so I will be able to use the "Add Web Reference" wizard?  - OR - Is there a workaround?

thanks

Thinking about new C# method prototypes: object as dictionary

I recently had to write a small Flickr API. I know many .Net API for Flickr already exist but I needed one for a Silverlight application. Whatever, it's only about building some querystrings so I did it by myself. It's been an opportunity to think again about a classical question: how to pass parameters to a method ?

Imagine you have a generic method to call some Flickr functions.

Adding Dynamic Rows in ASP.NET GridView Control with TextBoxes and with Delete functionality

In my previous examples, I have demonstrated on how to add dynamic rows in GridView control with TextBoxes and how to save the values into the database. Now, seems that most of the developers are asking if how to add a delete functionality with it. So in this example, I'm going to show on how to delete a certain row in the dynamic GridView with TextBoxes.

C# Object Oriented Programming

So far in C# Essentials we have looked at the basics of programming in C# such as variable types and flow control. Although it would be possible to write a functional program using these techniques, there is much more to becoming a proficient C# programmer. C# is, above all, an object oriented programming language and as such any C# programmer will be expected to create object-oriented applications using this language.

Overview of SharePoint Object Model

SharePoint offers a set of structured server-side objects those are widely used to program SharePoint Applications. These objects are hierarchically arranged and you can drill down through the object hierarchy to obtain the object that contains the components of SharePoint Application you need to use in your code.
