I am getting very desparate at this point. I've been out of business for 5 days now, with no end in sight.
My Master database, in my Maximizer instance is missing. I have posted the issue under
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqldatabaseengine/thread/e60b7c6a-c6d0-47c9-9a36-c15a12366db1 and Amit Banerjee has been helping out. Unfortunately, I can't get the Master database in my SQL Server Express 2005 to be rebuilt.
I have a copy of the MSSQL.1 folder on the desktop, along with a backup of the database in my backup files.
I've tried to run the script from a command prompt:
start /wait <CD or DVD Drive>\setup.exe /qn INSTANCENAME=<InstanceName> REINSTALL=SQL_Engine REBUILDDATABASE=1 SAPWD=<NewStrongPassword>
Where <InstanceName> is MAXIMIZER, the name of the database I'm trying to rebuild. I also tried replacing the <CD or DVD Drive>\setup with E:\setup, and I get the error message that Windows cannot find 'E:\setup'
I've tried running the command prompt from User\>, C:\>, and E:\>. For some reason, the setup.exe command won't run. I've also tried running it at an E:\prompt, without the E:\ in the script, a
