Custom views on .aspx webpage

Posted By:      Posted Date: August 21, 2010    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi again, i have a client that needs me to create a custom view on thier webpage similar to Microsoft Word.

It goes about that, when I click on an image it redirects me to another page and must create a custom view for a certain paragraph on that page. I am not sure how to do this and wonder if anyone knows how.

I am using C# programming language if that helps at all. I Heard that using javascript would work but i dont know javascript yet so is there any alternative?

Cutting Edge: Flexible Custom Data Views

ASP. NET 1. x introduced some powerful and useful data-bound controls. However, none were designed specifically to manage the view of a single record. When you build master/detail views, you need to display the contents of a single record.

Custom Editform.aspx crashes Sharepoint Designer

Hi there,

I've recently designed a sharepoint list and customised newform.aspx and editform.aspx. I made copies of the originals then customised the copies.
On both forms I simply:

* Closed original List Form web part
* Added Custom List Form
* Added some section breaks (<tr>) to the form to break it into sections
* Added a new css style to change the background colour on the section breaks (table rows)

Now NewForm.aspx works fine. However after making above changes in EditForm.aspx, I saved it. However whenever I try to reopen EditForm.aspx in Sharepoint Designer (SD), SD crashes! I can only open it in Text view. The error details reported by SD are:

stsadm export / import custom view / personal view views

Hi, i have to export and import a website with a sharepoint list including all personal views. The personal views are used by the endusers in excel data connections binded to the list.  Loss of personal views during import is not mentioned in the technet discription of export / import command ( http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766807(office.12).aspx  ) I am actually testing the export / import between two site collections, but always losing the personal views (MOSS 2007 with CU April 2010). This discussion had the same topic http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/4e299838-72c2-4f56-8dc3-05ba2a2999d9  but with no definite answer. Please tell me if this is by design or what could cause this behavior. Thanks in advance. Boris Boris Schlotthauer

Custom User Profile Views or Reports

Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible to easily create reports or views for user profiles. For example, I want a list of all user profiles where the picture field is blank, though on other occasions I may want to check if Manager is blank, or Office = Sydney, etc. When in Shared Services Admin the 'View User Profiles' view doesn't give me any options to create a new view, add columns to the view or do anything basically. The standard view I look at just contains Account Name, Preferred Name and Email Address. There must be a way of getting this information out of Central Admin. Thanks, Paul.

Custom DynamicData Default.aspx GridView

Adding a custom control to the SharePoint 2010 Team Site Wiki Page Template ( wkpstd.aspx ) programm

Topic This is maybe my last post about the Team Site Wiki Page customization with the aim of exceeding its limitations. This time we are going to customize the unique template ( wkpstd.aspx) by replacing the control that renders the editable content by a custom one. In this post example, we will take advantage of the use of this custom control to render not editable additional contents, for instance, a header and a footer that could be the same for a specific Wiki Page Library. Of course, we are not going to really customize the template, but we are going to use a delegate control to replace the control at runtime. Here are the screen shots of the result: We can see a non editable Header and Footer on the Team Site Wiki Page In edit mode these additional contents are not rendered, but we can add new content as usual And of course, after having saved the page, the new content is rendered wtih the non editable Header and Footer. Steps required   If you look at the Team Site Wiki Page template, wkpstd.aspx, you can see the control that is rendering the editable content/ <SharePoint:EmbeddedFormField ID="WikiField" FieldName="WikiField" ControlMode="Display" runat="server" /> We are first going to create a custom EmbeddedFormField control Then, we are going to use a delegate control to replace the native EmbeddedFor

Custom Email Alert template creating links to DispForm.aspx

I have a requirement to customise the alert template for a standard blog post list. To do this I: 1. Created a copy of alertstemplate.xml 2. Copied the genericList alert template node and customised 3. Registered the new template file against the site collection, iisreset and finally assigned the new Alert template to the list, when alerts are created the custom template is emailed. The problem now arises that the 'View <Post Title>' in the toolbar section now creates a hyperlink to http..../Lists/Posts/Dispform.aspx?ID=xx rather than post.aspx. I have checked using sharepoint designer that the list supporting files has the correct display item form of Lists/Posts/Post.aspx. Additionally if I reset the alert template for the list back to use the Generic list template the same problem still occurs so this leads me to believe it is not the customisations that are the problem. Code used to assign the alert template to the Posts list: var ats = new SPAlertTemplateCollection((SPWebService) site.WebApplication.Parent); var newTemplate = ats[alertName]; if (newTemplate == null) { // We did not find the specified Template. throw new Exception("Failed to find template SPAlertTemplateType.NewsPost in the template collection."); } list.AlertTemplate = newTemplate; list.Update(); Any assistance will be most welcome, thanks in advance. Custom DispForm.aspx and Search Results

I am a developer, but am proofing somethig in SPD 2010.  I am trying to create custom New/Edit/Disp/List forms for some OOB SharePoint 2010 lists (think Announcements, etc).  I am going this route because we are leveraging a mix of OOB functionality and custom functionality.  We want to avoid users "accidentally" navigating to the OOB New/Edit/Disp/List forms and have only our custom forms displayed.  This includes things like creating new items in calendar view and links from search results. So far, I have used SPD to create a new, custom, DispForm.aspx named "DispFormCustom.aspx".  I just made minor modifications to it so far - like changing background color to red.  Otherwise the new "DispFormCustom.aspx" is exactly what SPD gives you when you say you want to create a new Display Form.  I have selected that the custom form be the "Default" display form for the list. When I go into the list, and select "View Item", I get my custom form. When I do a search (using OOB search), the search result takes me to the original "DispForm.aspx" and not my custom form (eventhough I have specified it to be the default).  I have cleared the search index and done a Full crawl and the same behavior. I did navigate to the Content Type edit screen in SPD, in the "Forms" section, modif

Custom Default.aspx SharePoint 2010

I would like to replace the default.aspx with a custom default.aspx.  I have been able to accomplish this with a feature. I am finding the when deployed the new default.aspx page shows up in the following directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\FEATURES\ProjectInsightSPMaster_ProjectInsightLayoutFeature\defaultpage I also have a default.aspx located in the following directory.  This is the one that is deployed with the site definition. C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\SiteTemplates\PISP    When I browse to a site in IE, it is in fact looking at the correct (new) default.aspx page which is located in the FEATURES directory.  How does SharePoint know to use this default.aspx page instead of the one located in the SiteTemplates directory.  This is confusing to me.  Can you explain?   Is this the correct way of deploying an updated default.aspx?   dave

How to associate custom masterpage from 12 hive folder to an ASPX page

scenario: I have a custom masterpage available within 12 hive folder.  I want one of the ASPX pages (say allitems.aspx) to use this masterpage. I see that when I open the ASPX page using SPD, it has default.master but upon changing it to mydefault.master it gives error indicating that file is not found. So question is how to reference custom masterpage in aspx pages? I prefer to do it through visual studio but SPD is also fine.   thanks.

Viewselector is not working in a custom ASPX list view nor does the custom view display in the list

I created a custom ASPX page to display data from a linked datasource in SharePoint designer. (Let's call it NewView)   After creating the new page I inserted a web part zone then inserted a data view into the zone and attached the default master to the page.   From the linked data source, I added the columns I wanted to display in the data view and added additional columns from the 2nd linked list as a subview.

I copied the following code just after the </WebPartPages:SPProxyWebPartManager> tag and just before the <WebPartPages:WebPartZone tag:

  <table class="ms-menutoolbar" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%">
    <td class="ms-toolbar" nowrap="">
     <SharePoint:NewMenu runat="server"></SharePoint:NewMenu>
    <td class="ms-toolbar">|</td>
    <td class="ms-toolbar" nowrap="">
     <SharePoint:ActionsMenu runat="server"></SharePoint:ActionsMenu>
