I have an application that uses SQLXML 3.0 for SQL Server 2000 and IIS 6.0 through virtual directories, but we're in the middle of a technology upgrade. It appears this functionality was left out of the default installation starting with SQL Server
2005. I've read some people have gotten it it working for 2005, but I was curious if the same methods will work with SQL 2008?
I downloaded the SQLXML 3.0 SP3 on my development environment (app and db servers are different machines, both windows server 2008 R2), but the "Configure IIS Support" can't connect.
Am I wasting my time pursuing this? Will it work for IIS 7/7.5 and SQL 2008 the same way it worked for IIS6/2005?
My application is working except for the pages dependent on this, here is what IIS displays on the page I get when I browse to it. I have not been able to set up the VD correctly yet (obviously, because the utility will not connect).
