I also asked the same question in Codeproject.com .Anyone replied me "Make sure your database is Unicode capable and aware".So which which are Unicode Capable database. Is SQL Server?

.NET GUI Bliss: Streamline Your Code and Simplify Localization Using an XML-Based GUI Language Parse

While Windows Forms in .NET has lots of cool features, if you're used to MFC, there are a couple of things you'll find missing, like doc/view, command routing, and UI update. The .NET answer to this is a code generator that writes new code for every single element. But there's a better way. In this article, Paul DiLascia shows how to develop an XML-based GUI language parser for .NET that lets you code resources, menus, toolbars, and status bars in XML instead of with procedural code. He also shows how a user interface based on XML can easily be localized using standard .NET techniques, and introduces his very own library, MotLib.NET, with lots of GUI goodies for your programming pleasure.

Unable to install SP3 on SQL 2005 due to Database Services language being blank

Hi all,   I have an issue that requires me to upgrade to a later SP (currently on RTM), but when I try to install SP3 Database Services cannot be ticked. Upon inspection I see that its reporting "This update requires language ENU.  The language for this product instance MSSQLSERVER is . Download the upadte for langage .", when I check teh Language field to the right it is blank, other parts however are fine and can be upgraded. Can you advise please as I don't know how to manually set the language (which is reported inside SQL itself as English (United Kingdom)) and I cannot un/reinstall. Thanks, John

using policy based management to exclude database access

After reading information on the link http://www.mssqltips.com/tip.asp?tip=1492 I was wondering whether its possible to have a policy in place such that database A cannot make reference to objects in database_B, I am guessing that one would have a policy such that the contents of the objects must not be like %database_B.%   Let me know whether there is a better way to do this. Thanks.

Form Based Authentication with Custom database

Hi, I have a Sharepoint 2010 web application and I want to implement FBA(Form Based Authentication) for that. I don't want to use any membership providers and role providers. I have a SQL server database where we will maintain users and roles. I want to use this database for validating user credentials and authenticating them. Is this possible in Sharepoint 2010? Please reply ASAP.

Need to make a copies of an sql database

I am developing applications that use Microsoft sql server databases.  I use SQL Server Management Studio to create these databases and add table, etc.  I would like to be able to make a duplicate copy of one of these databases so that I could use one database for production and the other database for testing.  Is there some way to do this?  Also is there some way that I can copy a table in one database to another database? Thanks, Bette

Suppose we are building a web-based application to retrieve and enter information into a database.

Please help me out with thisSuppose we are building a web-based application to retrieve and enter information into a database.  The user-interface invokes web services.  Which architecture  would use for the application.

Temporarily isolate database changes based on HostName

I want to configure SQL Server so that any commands coming from a specific host get processed separately. My goal is to be able to test the impact of rather drastic changes without having to make a copy of a gigantic database. Ideally, I would also be able to tell how much of a resource impact this was causing on the server.

When I finish, I am perfectly happy to throw it all away and repeat the parts I wanted 'for real' as a test for the push to the staging / production servers. I guess it would be like transactions but across connections and applications... a big, cumulative transaction per-connecting-machine. I believe snapshots offer similar functionality but as far as I know they are read-only.

Thanks; I hope this is the right place to ask whether or not this type of feature exists in SQL Server.

Forms based authentication allow only specific users from database table

I have the following implementation and I'm sure there is an easy way to do what I want to do but I can't figure it out.

1. I use forms based authentication to authenticate to my site

2.  I use active directory to authenticate the users

3.  I use the Allow Users="xxx" tag to authorize the users limited to the list that can access my site. (e.g.. even though Mary is an AD user she can't access my site unless I put her credentials in the allow users tag in the web.config file)

All is working well but I want to move the users access list (e.g.. <allow users="john" />" from the web.config to a database table so that I can create a user maintenance page for my admins to add and delete user access.   For the life of me I can't figure out how to do this and I can't seem to find an article on it either.  I'm sure I'm just not looking for the right thing, so help is greatly appreciated.

Here is my web.config file..

        <add name="DBConnectionString" connectionString="Data Source=PRIMSRV;Initial Catalog=MAINDB;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=svc.Test;Password=password

How to make window based site accessible from outside

We are using MOSS 2007. We have created window based site and extended it to use SQL-Form based Authentication so that users can access it from outside. Now we have a requirement to use the Active Directory Authentication and test the application from outside. Our Alternate Access Mapping settings are as below:

Internal URL                                  Zone                                         Public URL for Zone

http://server01                             Default                                        http://server01
