"Out-of-Range" Error When Passing DateTime (DD/MM/YYYY) into Stored Procedure

Hi everybody, I hope some of you will be able to help me regarding this datetime problem. The query in the stored procedure doesn't accept DD/MM/YYYY format, although all dates are being saved in the format of DD/MM/YYYY hh:mm:ss. Example of query that throws the error: @sDate = '31/8/2010' @eDate = '1/9/2010' SELECT * FROM tb_Schedule where scheduledate >= @sDate and scheduledate <= @eDate  Error:  The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value FYI, the SQL Server 2005 is defaulted to British English(2057)for all logins and the DB server itself and my server Regional and Language is set to English (United Kingdom). Any help will be appreciated. Thank you very much.

How to : Generic error handling function. Passing GridViewUpdatedEventArgs as EventArgs

Hi, I want to build a generic error handling function for handling inseted, updated, deleted events from formview, gridview and detail view. I am still a bit new to C# so I have encoutered a simple problem that I cannot resolve and cannot find an answer while searching google.Right now I handle error with validator for generic validation but I need to catch BLL error.I have different event handler for the different type of event : protected void FormView_AjoutCompte_ItemInserted(object sender, FormViewInsertedEventArgs e) { if (e.Exception != null) { Afficher_Erreur(e.Exception); e.ExceptionHandled = true; } } protected void GridView_ListeUtilisateurs_RowUpdated(object sender, GridViewUpdatedEventArgs e) { if (e.Exception != null) { Afficher_Erreur(e.Exception); e.ExceptionHandled = true; } } protected void GridView_ListeUtilisateurs_RowDeleted(object sender, GridViewDeletedEventArgs e) { if (e.Exception != null) { Afficher_Erreur(e.Exception); e.ExceptionHandled = true; } } I want to create a generic function that will handle them all, a function such as : private void GestionDerreur(EventArgs e) { if (e.Exception != null) { Afficher_Erreur(e.Exception); e.Exc

Passing checkboxlist variables and returning one row at a time

I am designing a page for my students to practice their Latin vocabulary.  I am having two problems with the design: 1) working with checkboxes, and 2) display one returned row at a time. 1) First, students select from CheckListBox1 those parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.) they want to review, and then they click Button1 ("Submit"), which fires off a SELECT statement against a table named CoreVocab in a SQLEXPRESS database.  How do I pass each selected part of speech from CheckListBox1 as a variable into the WHERE statement when the user clicks Button1? Do I place this code in the Button1_Click on the .cs page? 2)  Ideally, the table returns the first row and Button1 changes to "Next," which the student then clicks to see the next Latin word.  How do I get the Repeater table to show only one row at time until the Next button is clicked? And how do I get the same button to executed two functions (fire off the SELECT statement and then show the next row)?  For what it's worth, I'm using the SqlDataReader command, since data will only be retrieved, not modified. Thanks. I'm new at this.  But I really need to do something for my suffering students. Oliphant

I have below function that return the error below.

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: SELECT failed because the following SET options have incorrect settings: ARITHABORT. Verify that SET options are correct for use with indexed views and/or indexes on computed columns and/or query notifications and/or xml data type methods.

Passing in the variables for 'Between'

I'm using SQL 2008 and VS 2010.

I have a sproc that ends with:

WHERE RowNumber Between 1 and 1;

(I only have two records in it right now)

What does everyone use to pass in the variables from a webpage, without any datacontrol, in place of the 1's?

I've used cookies and session variables, but is there a better way during postbacks to fill the gridview?

Temporary tables in SQL Server vs. table variables

When writing T-SQL code, you often need a table in which to store data temporarily when it comes time to execute that code. You have four table options: normal tables, local temporary tables, global temporary tables and table variables. I'll discuss the differences between using temporary tables in SQL Server versus table variables.

IsapiModule Error 500 Issue

I am about exhausted trying to figure out this error:

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

Description: The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.

Error Code: 0x8007007b

Notification: ExecuteRequestHandler

Module: IsapiModule

Requested URL: http://localhost:80/ReportServer

Physical Path: c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\ReportServer

When I enable Failed Request Tracing Rules and view the log output I am supposing that the actual problem is in the 2nd call where there are 2 backslashes before the actual filename in the specified path:

CALL_ISAPI_EXTENSION DllName="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\\aspnet_isapi.dll"

Handling 404 page not found with Error page

      How do i handle 404 page not found?

Inserting personal error message in ValidationSummary

I am creating a web form that requires a lot of validation. I use many of the validation control in asp.net already like RequiredFieldValidator and CompareValidator.

My Problem: after my custom validation for the value entered return an error message, and I pressed enter key when the field is empty, my custom error message is overlapped by my ValidationSummary.

Setting my custom error to visible = false on button click also does not seem to work as it requires for me to enter the value first.

This made me think, is there a way to insert my custom validation inside the ValidationSummary as an error message like for other validation control?

Thanks in advance

Passing Linq Statement between master and content page

I usually work with windows forms, and am just starting to work with ASP.Net, so appologies if this is a dumb question!

I have a master page which has a search button on it. The results of this are built up using a Linq statement and if there are any results, I want to display the results in a contents page.

On the masterpage, I have the following code:

Private _res

    Public Overridable ReadOnly Property SearchRes()
            Return _res
        End Get
    End Property

 Private Sub DoSearch()
   'some code to get a linq result

    If res.Any Then
            _res = res
            Server.Transfer("SearchResults.aspx", True)
            'no results
            LabelNoRes.Visible = True
        End If
 End Sub

On the SearchResults.aspx page I have this code.

Dim m As pxSite = CType(Page.Master, MasterPage)
        If m.SearchRes IsNot Nothing Then
            Label1.Text = "Results found = " & m.SearchRes.Count
        End If

m.searchRes is always nothing.

What am I doing wrong here?

Jscript error: Object does not support property or method

 Hi, i have little knowledge on javascript but i need to use this code get from somewhere for a jquery to work.

I face this "Jscript runtime error: Object does not support property or method" whenever im trying to run this page.

In my experience, im get this error msg 9 out of 10 times i use javascript in my system.

Im using Microsoft Visual web developer 2008, i wonder if this is related to my problem, i not sure there is anything i need to add as reference or update anything.

But anyway, in short, i just couldn't use javascript code when using this development tool because of this sort of error.

Anyway, it happen that last time i tried use the same type of jquery code in another project and it seems to work well without an error.

But now when im try to use it again in this recent project i created, it come out with this error and i have no idea how to solve it even look through google and this forum.

Type or namespace error.

A couple of days ago I started getting an unusual behavior when compiling Website projects. I have referenced class libraries added to my bin folder that are also correctely referenced in using statements in my aspx.cs code behind. When I compile, I get the

I can eliminate the error by adding an
