I have Windows 7 and installed Visual Studio 2008 Pro and also installed SQL server developer addiotion that comes with VS. After creating a test database in SQL maangement studio and adding the standard asp.net membership provider tables with the aspnet_regsql
tool, I created a web project and added a connection string to the web.config file to connect to the database.
No matter what, I cannot connect to the database.
I can create a connection through the server explorer in visual studio and when I drag a sqldatasource onto my page and configure it I can connect to the database etc. But no web.config connection.
This worked on my XP pro machine but not Windows 7.
Has anybody had this problem and what am I doing wrong.
Hi;WeÃÂ have a server running SQL Server 2005 Ent on a Windows Server 2003 platform.ÃÂ It runs just fine and I have no problem accessing any of the Business Intelligence services using SSMS 2005.
I recently upgraded my development PC to SQL Server 2008 as we'll be deploying it to our production servers in the next few days. I am able to access the Database Engine, SSAS and SSRS on the 2005 server with SSMS 2008, but when I try to log into Integration Services, I get the following error:
TITLE: Connect to ServerCannot connect to servername.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Failed to retrieve data for this request. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Sdk.Sfc)For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&LinkId=20476
Connect to SSIS Service on machine "servername." failed:Class not registered
Luckily I did not uninstall SSMS 2005, so I can still access it from there, but it would be nice if I could use just one client. I'm also afraid that this might happen after the production server gets upgraded. Thanks in advance for any help in resolving this.
