Problem creating diagrams

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :
I just upgraded an existing sql server 2000 installation with the RTM sql server 2005 (developer). I went to work on a database that I've been working on for a couple of weeks before the upgrade, and wanted to create a database diagram. However, when I click on the "Database Diagrams" tree node, I get this message:

TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio

Database diagram support objects cannot be installed because this database does not have a valid owner.  To continue, first use the Files page of the Database Properties dialog box or the ALTER AUTHORIZATION statement to set the database owner to a valid login, then add the database diagram support objects.

The owner was set to a valid login, being the windows auth. login i was logged in with when i create the database. I tried using ALTER AUTHORIZATION to change it to another SQL login that i'd created for future use with this and other related databases, but it still gives me the same error.

Any ideas what's going on?

namespace of fields problem when creating form template from xml?

I created a form template from a predefined xml, where I do not have any namespace. Later I added more fields. The output xml of the form is for the fields from the xml they have not prefix, for those added later, they have prefix my. I already have them all done. How can I make them consistent to have prefix my? Is there any options in InfoPath to turn on or off the prefix my?   thanks,

Problem Creating Asymmetric Key from Executable File

In trying to create an asymmetric key from an executable file, I get an error if the path length to the dll is very long, while a short path length works perfectly.  Does anyone know what the limitation on the path length is?

Problem Creating Server Side Javascript

I have a custom control which creates client side Javascript in order for it to function. When the property .OnSelectScript is wrapped in an if...then that tests its length, the value of .OnSelectScript appears to be ignored when the Javascript is being generated. However, when I set the .text value of a test label to Javascript, it appears there. I have confirmed that the statement *does not* appear client side when I view the source for the page.

Property declaration for the control

    Public Property OnSelectScript() As String
            Return _OnSelectScript
        End Get
        Set(ByVal value As String)
            _OnSelectScript = value
        End Set
    End Property
    Private _OnSelectScript As String

Full SUB as designed

    Protected Sub Page_Load() Handles Me.Load

        Dim ClientSideJavaScript As New StringBuilder

        LabelSelectorTitle.Text = Me.Title
        Call LoadData()

        ClientSideJavaScript.Append("/*File: Test Selector.aspx.vb Sub: Page_Load()*/" & Chr(10))
        ClientSideJavaScript.Append("function setValue(ParentPopup, TargetDisplayControl, NewDisplayValue, TargetTextboxControl, NewKeyValue) {" & Chr(10))

Problem when creating a Record Center in SharePoint 2010

Hi Guys

I have a problem when creating a Record Center in SharePoint 2010 on a publishing Portal. The Record center creates succesfully, but when I try to upload a record sharepoint says that the list does not exist, also when I try to go into the site settings of the record center I get the same issue. When trying to specify the libraries in the record centre management page....same thing! What could this be?

Problem re-creating web part page

I've got some web part pages which are being setup programatically. I want to be able to refresh those pages, i.e. delete all webpart on them and recreate the content from scratch. When I try this, the following exception is thrown:

The transformer type "Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls.TransformableFilterValuesToEntityInstanceTransformer" is not allowed to be used on this page.

The exception comes from the following line:

SPWebPartConnection newConnection = wpmngr.SPConnectWebParts(providerWebPart, providerConnection, consumerWebPart, consumerConnection, transformer);

So I thought "let's delete the page and then just recreate it". Doesn't work either, same exception is thrown. I have no idea why this code would work the first time, but doesn't work a second time. It seems like something get's stuck preventing the same action twice, but I have no clue what to look for.

Problem with printing database diagrams

When I print a database diagram directly, I get the top left corner obsrured on the printout by what looks like an empty popup box. This means the columns names are blanked out for the first 5-6 rows. I have tried this with a variety of printers and the effectis the same on all. The problem appears to be specific to SQL2005 as one of the servers has both SQL2000 and SQL2005. The disagrams from the SQL2000 print perfectly, the ones from SQL2005 do not.

SQL2005 has been patched to SP2.

I have circumvented the problem by writing an SSRS package to print the output of a stored procedure that emulates the database diagram. Also there is an option in SQL2005 database diagrams to get an image of the diagram. I have printed this in Word and it prints flawlessly that way.

Problem while creating a column in custom list

Problem with creating Custom List in SharePoint Designer

Hello all,

I have used SharePoint designer 2007 to create a custom list for my SharePoint 2003 portal.  The list is quite simple, without any extensive programming.

First I created a 'shell' for my list inside of SharePoint, where I name my fields and select their input types (Choice, Date, Currency, etc).

I then create a new .aspx file, insert a Custom SharePoint List into the new file, and use the above mentioned 'shell' to insert my content.

From this point, I rearrange the design, insert a few basic JavasScript elements - for image rollovers - and save.

The page displays perfectly in my live SharePoint environment.  However, when I enter data into this form, and submit, it doesn't save the data correctly.  For instance, there's a Yes/No option near the end of the form, defaulted to No.  If I click that checkbox - to set it to Yes - and submit the form, the resulting record does not show that I had clicked the checkbox.  In fact, it shows the whole form as being blank, as if I had entered nothing at all.

If this makes sense, how would I go about fixing this?

Problem with creating more than one Panel

    <asp:PlaceHolder ID="PlaceHolder1" runat="server">

and in Default.aspx.cs:

    protected void Button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
