Error while sending email using ASP.NET 2.0 Beta 2 (Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2)

While trying to send email using<code> SmtpClient obj_SmtpClient = new SmtpClient(); obj_SmtpClient.Host = ""t; obj_SmtpClient.Send(s_from, s_recipients, s_subject, s_body);</code>I get the error message:Failure sending mail. Unable to connect to the remote server An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.DoConnect(EndPoint endPointSnapshot, SocketAddress socketAddress) at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.InternalConnect(EndPoint remoteEP) at System.Net.ServicePoint.ConnectSocketInternal(Boolean connectFailure, Socket s4, Socket s6, Socket& socket, IPAddress& address, ConnectSocketState state, IAsyncResult asyncResult, Int32 timeout, Exception& exception) SystemSMTP is installed on my Windows XP Sp2 laptop. I have also tried disabling the Windows firewall but still the same error. The SMTP server is a Microsoft Exchange Server that is part of the same domain as myself. I was logged on to the domain while running the email code. There is an excellant article on ORCS web by BradKingley (http://www.orcsweb.com/articles/sending_smtp_authenticated_email.aspx) on sending authenticated email using username/password, however what I need is how to authenticate in a purely Microsoft environment. Any suggestions as to how to fix this problem, gratefully accepted.

Sending document to Content Organizer with rule applied generates GET request error

When I attempt to send a document to a Content Organizer through a custom send to location configured in Central Admin I am getting the following error.

Updates are currently disallowed on GET requests.  To allow updates on a GET, set the 'AllowUnsafeUpdates' property on SPWeb.

I run into this problem with content types that have rules defined for them. So if there is no rule, it gets sent to the drop off library. If there is a rule, I get the error in the browser.

I am getting these errors in the Event Viewer:

*Error loading and running event receiver Microsoft.Office.DocumentManagement.DocumentSets.DocumentSetEventReceiver in Microsoft.Office.DocumentManagement, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c. Additional information is below.

: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

*The http://<domain>/site/_vti_bin/OfficialFile.asmx site is not properly configured for this request.

Any ideas?

there was an error processing the request

Hi, I implement a project which has a ajax plus web service. It works out on IDE VS 2008 Express.

The error type is empty.

Any experience is thankful.

HTTP 400 Bad Request Error when uploading to document library

I am running MOSS 3007 Standard on Windows 2003. When trying to upload files larger than about 29Mb, I am getting an HTTP 400 Bad request error. The error states "HTTP Error 400 - Request is badly formed." I am able to successfully upload a 28Mb file. Sharepoint is configured to accept files up to 75Mb.

I have done a fair amount of research on this, but none of the solutions seem to apply to our environment. The two most likely candidates do not apply, for example we are NOT running URLScan (there are a variety of solutions suggesting this could be an issue with uploads of 30Mb or more), and we are on 2003 with IIS6, so again the issue relating to 2008 and IIS7 do not apply.

The "Request is badly formed" part of the request is particularly confusing as most issues I have come across where this error is the symptom point to errors in custom code that is trying to talk to SharePoint. We have done none of our own custom coding and this error is occurring when attempting a simple upload to a document library.

Trying to drag and drop the file across when the document library is open in windows explorer also fails.

I did come across someone saying they had a similar problem which was caused by a damaged content database, however in this case, it is occuring regardless of which content database I use, so either they are all corrupt

sql 2005 sp2 memory error FAIL_VIRTUAL_RESERVE

We're running SQL Server 2005 SP (9.00.4035.00) 32 bit on Windows Server 2008 SP2 Enterprise.   The server has 8gb of RAM and is only used for SQL Server.  Since Windows 2008 SP2 was installed on 8/23/2009, once every week or so the server has become unresponsive.  Early in in the course of the problem I notice the following error in the SQL Server error log:  Failed Virtual Allocate Bytes: FAIL_VIRTUAL_RESERVE 1048576 That's followed by the output of DBCC MEMORYSTATUS, which I'll include at the end of this post. After that, things work normally for several hours, except for some occurences of Downgrading backup log buffers from 1024K to 64K That appear in the SQL Server error log when our transaction log backups occur.  Some time after that, we begin to receive Event ID: 701 There is insufficient system memory to run this query. In the event logs of our server. At that point, the server becomes unresponsive.  Restarting the SQL Server Service resolves the issue. Is anyone else experiencing this? It's only been happening 1 time per week (not consistently the same time) and has only occurred since Windows Server 2008 SP2 was installed.  I don't know if that's related, but it's the only real change to that server.  Workload has been consistent on that server for months. Can someone please help? Thanks. Here's the DBCC output. Memory Manager     VM Reserved =

Getting the Error: 0xC001000E at : The connection "" is not found. SQL 2005

After doing some looking I noticed this was included in the SP3 for SQL 2005. We have had this service pack installed for a while now but we are still randomly getting this error. Some packages will run fine for a long time and then all of the sudden start giving this error even though the package was successful. Any ideas? Thanks, Donnie

Im trying to send some xml inside a soap request to a webservice using the HttpWebRequest class.  I know this isnt the best way, but my hands are tied by company policy so i have to do it this way.  My webmethod has an input parameter  "SourceXML"  so my soap request has this node<SourceXML></SourceXML>I need to insert the xml in this node but whenver I insert it and try to send it to my web method I get an error "400 bad request"Is this even possible ?  I need to insert the xml as a string literal and read it in the web methodStringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(_soapEnv); -- soap enevlope template containing the SourceXML node sb.Insert(sb.ToString().IndexOf("</SourceXML>"), the xml I want to insert in the node); sendmessage(url, webmethod, sb.ToString()) -- send the message to the webserviceIf I put plain text in the string builderegsb.Insert(sb.ToString().IndexOf("</SourceXML>"), "this is a test");everything works ok, but as soon as i put some xml in it fails. Am I going about this in the right way ?basically my webmethod will have 2 input parameters, some xml and an object, but I just cant get it to work. Can anyone help ?

SQL Server 2005 x64: Intermittent "Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 10."

Hi, We are experiencing intermittent authentication errors "Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 10" on a customer's production server. This is a new server that has just been rolled out in the past several months. Rebooting the server appears to make the problem go away. We are using SQL authentication from a separate server that is running IIS. The application always uses the same username and password to connect. Server info: select @@versionMicrosoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.2047.00 (X64) Apr 14 2006 01:11:53 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft CorporationStandard Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 1) select @@versionSP1 Sample error from SQL Server errorlog: Date  7/7/2006 10:53:24 AMLog  SQL Server (Archive #2 - 7/7/2006 12:20:00 PM)Source  LogonMessageError: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 10. "None of the selected features can be installed" error on SQL 2005 Cluster

Hey All, I installed SQL 2005 on a cluster.  Everything on the primary node works fine.  However, as the documentation suggests, the SQL Management Studio (and other tools) are not installed on the standby node by default.  However, when I go to try and install on the 2nd node I get the following error: TITLE: Microsoft SQL Server Setup------------------------------ None of the selected features can be installed or upgraded. Setup cannot proceed since no effective change is being made to the machine. To continue, click Back and then select features to install. To exit SQL Server Setup, click Cancel. For help, click: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?LinkID=20476&ProdName=Microsoft+SQL+Server&ProdVer=9.00.1399.06&EvtSrc=setup.rll&EvtID=SQLSetup90&EvtType=28108 ------------------------------The link is referencing something about requiring a complex SA password.   I can verify that the directory structure on node 1 where the management studio and client tools exist does not exist on node 2.   I'm at wits end here, I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling/everything. Anyone have any ideas? thanks!

asp.net vs WCF request pipeline in IIS 500 error

Using .net 4.0 , IIS 7.4 Windows Server 2008 R2 I have an asp.net application that sits between WCF web services and routes the requests according to some rules. The iis error page setting is set to 'Detailed errors for local requests and custom ....' the asp.net routing service calls the WCF service using HttWebRequest object. I am getting an iis html error response when wcf service throws a fault exception. but i get a proper IIS 500 error with a proper soap response when i call the service directly (without the router) I know i can fix it by changing IIS error page setting, but i dont want to do that since it would expose my non wcf errors. question is is there a difference in how iis treats wcf requests vs asp.net request when it comes to 500 errors also this used to work in IIS 6, how to get this behavior back in iis 7

Best practice for user defined error messages in SQL Server 2005/2008 --Need help

My requirement is to setup a standard practice for our team in handling DB erros and also  user defined messages. We are handling exceptions using Raiseerror method with in Try and Catch blocks.  For user defined message, we are using Sp_addmessage to add our application specific error/warning messages with error codess>80000.  Ex: 80001 | Company name already exists. please check. Here is the sample code ********************************************************************* CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[usp_CompanyProfile_insert]  -- Add the parameters for the stored procedure here  (@company_name VARCHAR(50),  @company_code VARCHAR(3),  @user_id INT  ) AS BEGIN  -- SET NOCOUNT ON added to prevent extra result sets from  -- interfering with SELECT statements.  SET NOCOUNT ON;  BEGIN TRY -- Begin Try Block      -- Validate company name   IF EXISTS (SELECT company_id FROM companyprofile WHERE company_name = @company_name)    RAISERROR(90021, 16, 1)      INSERT INTO companyprofile (company_name,       company_code,       createdby)   VALUES(@company_name,     @company_code,     @user_id)    END TRY  -- End Try Block &
