I've been having some issues lately with my SSRS 2008 R2 installation. Its up and running for a few months now with no major issues but i've encountered a problem over the past few weeks that is very intermittent and hard to troubleshoot.
The actual reporting services service will stop (inaccessible via report manager) and has to manually be restarted. I've configured service recovery of 'Restart the Service' and even tried to have it run a batch file that restarts it to no avail.
I've also tried setting it to 'delayed' as i know some services' dependencies can cause stoppage if not running. The report manager is always slow to load on first load of the day and can sometimes cause the service to stop. I've also run random reports
and had the service stop w/o warning yet after a restart it can run for days without happening again.
Quick background: Windows Server 2008 x64, MSSS 2008R2 x64, SSRS 2008R2, Xeon Quad w/8gb DDR3, MINIMAL server load at any given time and there are no 'end users' on this yet, just me.
