the parameter in slice source cube of MS2008R2

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :

I create a Data Mining structure, and use the cube slice to slice the hierarchy of the dimension, I define a filter, for example,

organization as the dimension, store as the hierarchy, equal as the operator, {Shanghai} as the filter expression, then following a check box as the parameter

I want to know what's the meaning of the parameter here, how can I use it, please describe it in detail, thanks.

Duplicate URLs in Source Parameter of Query String for All SharePoint Lists

After performing a database attach method of upgrading our existing web application from MOSS 2007 to SharePoint Server 2010, all of our lists that migrated now exhibit an interesting but undesirable behavior.  The DispForm.aspx and EditForm.aspx pages that get loaded are given the Source parameter of the query string but instead of the URL being a single entry like: Source=http://sharepointsite.domain.com/Pages/Default.aspx It winds up putting the URL twice like this: Source=http://sharepointsite.domain.com/Pages/Default.aspx,http://sharepointsite.domain.com/Pages/Default.aspx Naturally this makes processing of the form -- either by choosing OK or Cancel buttons -- result in an HTTP 404 error.  The question we're left with is how in the world did the Source parameter get set that way to begin with.   It wasn't that way in 2007. We had thought that perhaps there was something that didn't migrate over correctly for the existing lists, so I tried creating a new list and then added a new item to the list.  So far so good.  Then attempted to Edit Properties or Edit Item or even View Item, etc. -- essentially triggering the load of the EditForm.aspx and DispForm.aspx  -- and we received the 404 again.  At this point we're not sure what's going on or how to fix it.  We've performed the migration three times so far with t

Add parameter to ADO or OLEDB Source without using Expressions?

(Using BIDS 2008 R2)

Is there any way to add parameters to a ADO or OLEDB Source without using Expressions? Just like Execute SQL Task (Control flow) and OLE DB Command (Data flow)

I find it very cumbersome to have to go and change the expression. If I add a column, then I also need to go back to the Source query, add and remove a space before it adds the column to the output. Also sometimes I forget that I have an expression and when I save the package the Expression overrides the query I had just updated in the source.

Hope someone can help.

SSRS 2008 Interface with cube data source

Hi All,

Need some brainstorming and your experience here. Here is a situation and would like to understand your thoughts on this.

1. We have developed some cubes using SSAS 2008 to analyse the data.

2. We had some reporting requirement in the past and we decided to use our cube as a data source for the reports and develop using SSRS 2008.

3. We have developed many reports using the SSRS.

4. Now when the reports are passed on to the end users, they are not liking the SSRS interface...like at present we cannot increase the size of the drop down box, sorting any many other things..

As you might already know the SSRS interface i

Default date selection in SSRS with SSAS cube as a source

I am fairly new to SSAS and I am hoping that someone can help me with an issue I am experiencing.  I am create a SSRS report that goes against a SSAS cube.  My cube has a Date dimension with a Fiscal Year - Fiscal Quarter - Fiscal Month hierarchy.  In my report I have created filters for a From Date and a To Date, which are populated with the hierarchy of the Date dimension.

I need to default the filters as follows:

To Date = current quarter (that is the last quarter with fact data)

From Date = the To Date quarter from the previous year (e.g. if To Date quarter = Q1 2008, then From Date quarter needs to be Q1 2007)

I found some SSAS code that allows me to get the index of the last quarter with data, but I am stuck at this point.  I am not sure how I can translate this into a default selection for the To Date SSRS report parameter.  I also realize that there may be a better approach.

Document Libraries and the query string source parameter

In MOSS 2007 / WSS 3.0 I used to be able to pass a &Source= parameter to the upload page of a document library and it would get carried through to the Document Properties page.  When the user checked-in the document, the user was taken back to the page specified in the Source parameter.

In 2010, the source parameter appears to get cleared and reset between the Upload page and the Edit Properties page - defaulting to the allitems.aspx view.

Has anyone used this technique in SharePoint 2010 and if not can anyone suggest any work arounds for taking a user to a specified location after the document upload process has been completed?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Kind regards

How to send filter values to a PivotTable filter when using SSAS cube as data source?

I have created a custom filter web part that implements IWebPartParameters. I'm able to send values from this web part to and Excel Web Access web part and get it to set a pivottable filter based on this value.

Now, I want to do the same for an Excel Pivottable that's connected to an SSAS cube. However, I can't get the parameter value to set the filter. Is there some special format that I need to send the values in to be able to set a pivottable filter for a SSAS cube?

Microsoft StyleCop: Source Code Analyzer for C#

StyleCop is similar in many ways to Microsoft Code Analysis (specifically FxCop), but there are some important distinctions. FxCop performs its analysis on compiled binaries, while StyleCop analyzes the source code directly. For this reason, FxCop focuses more on the design of the code, while StyleCop focuses on layout, readability and documentation. Most of that information is stripped away during the compilation process, and thus cannot be analyzed by FxCop.

C# and XML Source Code Documentation

Through many years of enterprise level software development and consulting, I became critically aware of the importance of good source code documentation, and several years ago when I began working with the first release of Visual Studio .NET beta 1 and found C# provided built-in support for inline XML code documentation, I was thrilled.

abstract away the source of the connection string using a class with a static property.

ASP.NET provides a configuration system we can use to keep our applications flexible at runtime. In this article we will examine some tips and best practices for using the configuration system for the best results.

The element of a web.config file is a place to store connection strings, server names, file paths, and other miscellaneous settings needed by an application to perform work. The items inside appSettings are items that need to be configurable depending upon the environment, for instance, any database connection strings will change as you move your application from a testing and staging server into production.

Let's abstract away the source of the connection string using a class with a static property.

Formview LinqData source not allowing updates

OK, I'm confused.  I've set up a formview with a Linqdata source to allow users to edit records.  When I run it, edit data and submit, it blows up and tells me "Linq datasource6  does not support the Select property when the Delete, Insert or Update operations are enabled."  I googled that warning and saw a couple of posts on this forum saying the problem is the slect statement has to be removed from the Linq data source for it to allow updates.

But if I remove the select statement then how do I show the user specific info on pageload?   plus I thought the two way databind was an advantge of the datasource control.

Use a column as parameter for a sds in another column; gridview

Hola, I have a gridview which is bound to a sds which returns 7 columns and I added two columns from the GUI.  What I want is to fill up the 9th column with DDLs and these  DDLS will get their data from a different sds which is using a stored procedure with a single parameter.  I created the 9th row, used template field, made the sds for 9th row, the stored_procedure, threw a DDL in Item template and all  I need now is to pass a parameter in the first column to the sds in the 9th column.  I can code this but i'm getting tired of aspx.cs :) and would like to do it from the GUI.
