I'm a beginner in Silverlight and Microsoft SAPI for speech technologies. Now my current project is planned to be able to do the following.
My silverlight application will be recording audio from the user's microphone and it will be stored in the local computer. After the recording has been finished, the recorded WAV file will be uploaded to the server by using WCF. When the uploading process
is completed, the WCF service running at the server side will recognize the spoken text from the uploaded audio file. For speech recognition, I used SAPI; and I don't plan to use System.Speech.Recognition namespace as it doesn't support using speech profiles
for accurate dictation. The recognized text will be sent back to the client for verification.
I have implemented the front end in Microsoft Silverlight platform and successfully implemented an upload service which works well. I developed a windows application to test the speech recognition capabilities of SAPI and I found a working way. Based on
that, I implemented a WCF service to recognize text from the uploaded file. But the same doesn't seem to be working.
How can I make a WCF service that successfully recognises speech from a WAV file at server side? Why does my code fail, even if the same works for a windows forms application? Is there any known compatibility issue in using SA
