Framework 3.0 and 3.5 installation problem

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :.NET Framework

Hello,

I have a big problem since 5 months: applications which needed the Framework didn't work. As it was impossible to remove them in the standard way, I tried the Framework clean-up tool.

After much time, I was able to reinstall framework 1.1 and 2.0 (on my Vista 32). However, I can't install the framework 3.5: during setup, I get an error (sorry, the report is in French, but you may be able to understand it..):

Microsoft .net framework 1.1 installation problem

Well I know there is numerous posts about .net framework 1.1 installation failure,I have searched through a lot of them.I failed to resolve my  problem so I am posting this.when I try to install .net framework 1.1 redistributable package which I downloaded from here it installs  .net framework version 1.0.3705 then when I want to install .net framework 1.1 service pack 1 downloaded from here which has the file NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe  it doesnt install showing the message  ''The upgrade patch can't be installed by the windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing,or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program.Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.'' I have tried a lot of way to solve this including:using the stebner cleanup tool to erase all versions of framework then restarting  machine and reinstalling again but this way can't solve the problem, modifying registry etc.Other versions(1.0,2.0,3.0,3.5) are installing smoothly they are not creating problems only this fw 1.1.How can I resolve this issue. Please anyone help

SQL 2008 Installation problem (Could not fix registry key)

Hello, I want to install SQL 2008 client tools on a Win 2008 machine. The machine already contains an instance of SQL 2005 Express which I don't want to unistall. The problem is that the installation wizard complains about Consistency Validation for SQL registry keys. The log shows the following: 2010-08-26 10:14:46 Slp: Could not fix registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\Client\ConnectTo. 2010-08-26 10:14:46 Slp: System.NullReferenceException: Referencia a objeto no establecida como instancia de un objeto. 2010-08-26 10:14:46 Slp:    en Microsoft.SqlServer.Configuration.FixSqlRegistryKey.Program.ContainsInheritedAce(Byte[] securityDescriptor) 2010-08-26 10:14:46 Slp:    en Microsoft.SqlServer.Configuration.FixSqlRegistryKey.Program.FixRegistryKey(String keyName) 2010-08-26 10:14:46 Slp:    en Microsoft.SqlServer.Configuration.FixSqlRegistryKey.Program.FixRegistryKeyAndSubKeys(RegistryKey key) I have created the "ConnecTo" key, which didn't even exist. I have also tried to set premissions to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSSQLServer to "Everyone/Full Control" but the installation fails over and over. Is there anything else I could try to get the SQL tools installed? Thanks in advance.

SQL Server 2008 - Installation Woe - .NET Framework 3.5 SP1

On a Windows 2003 R2 x64 server, I have been unable to install SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition x64. When running setup.exe, I almost instantaneously receive the following Microsoft SQL Server Setup error:"Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installation has failed.SQL Server 2008 Setup requires .NET Framework to be installed."What does not make sense is that I successfully downloaded .NET Framework 3.5 from the Microsoft download site (published 8/11/2008) prior to the SQL Server 2008 installation attempt.http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=ab99342f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7&displaylang=enI do need to note that a few nights ago, prior to downloading the framework (3.5 SP1), I ran the SQL Server 2008 setup executable. I was prompted that in order to install SQL Server 2008, the setup program needed to first install .NET 3.5 SP1 and Windows Installer 4.5. I let the .NET 3.5 SP1 install run for about 1.5 to 2 hours and cancelled (now I wish I had just let it go).It is my understanding (correct me if I am wrong) that the SQL Server 2008 setup program initially checks for any pre-RTM versions of .NET 3.5 SP1 Framework. If one is found, it is then supposed to guide the user through both the installation of the .NET 3.5 SP1 Framework and Windows Installer 4.5. I have removed .NET 3.5 SP1 Framework (Add/Remove programs) and rebooted. However, upon runni

.net framework update problem

I've looked everywhere on MS support for other answers and ideas to resolve this over the past several weeks and nothing has helped.  In fact, I have more problems now than I did before I started.  My initial problem came to light when I attempted to install TurboTax 2009 on my Toshiba laptop running Vista Home Basic 32 bit.  The TurboTax installation aborted with a message that my .net framework was not properly installed and the included program to correct this also failed.  As I worked through the various suggestions on the Microsoft support site - KB923100 being the most applicable - I eventually succeeded in removing all versions of the .net framework.  However, when I attempted to reinstall them I could not.  The .net 1.1 reinstalled just fine but the .net 3.0 says I need to use the add/remove Windows components feature instead.  When I do, it fails to both install the .net features not installed, AND it fails to remove the one that is installed.  The .net 3.5 (dotNetFx35setup.exe) installation simply aborts.  Additionally, I get the exact same results no matter in which order I attempt to reinstall the .net framework versions.  All this hassle leaves me with the apparently related and business crippling problems of my Outlook Business Contact Manager failing "to init

i have a problem about the framework launcher.exe

When i install it on windows XP everything works just fine but when i try to install it on Windows 7 i get an error. What am i doing wrong? Problem with ASP.NET Ajax, Framework version 4.0 and the SeaMonkey browser...

I have a site that I'm upgrading to the 4.0 framework and I've come across an issue with asp.net ajax and the SeaMonkey browser. It seems like the script manager is not registering the scripts on the page in seamonkey (but it works fine in IE, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Safari). Now, if I change the user agent string in SeaMonkey to use the user agent string from any of those other browsers, it works fine. So I guess my question is does ASP.NET Ajax check the browser's user agent to determine what scripts to register and, if so, is it possible that SeaMonkey is not included in the list in the 4.0 framework (I should add that it's working fine in the 3.5 framework so it seems to me like this is a difference between the two framework versions).

FAST Search Installation Problem

I tried the post install step for Fast Search on a Windows 2008 server without domain names (I used local user names only, due to constraints of our sandbox machine on our production network). The post-install step failed. I tried commenting out C:\FastSearch\installer\scripts\psconfig.ps1 file where the steps are for "Creating IPSec configuration", but apparently this file is dynamically created and overwrites my commenting out of this step. Has anyone successfully installed FAST search in a local account only scenar
