Problems on WF4 Services, Security and Large Objects

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :JQuery

Dears,

I have a big problem on using WF4 service. There are several questions I cannot find the answer yet.
Hope that anyone can share their experience to me on solving the following problems.

1. How to change the configuration for each WF4 services ?
I have created several workflow services and once they build, I can find the service by adding a service reference on the client side.
However, I need to pass a large object such as image or movie like >20MB file to the WF4 service.
But I cannot find any configuration on the web.config file on the server side that allow me to change the settings like maxArrayLength,
    maxBufferPoolSize ...

For these large objects, is that using streaming mode is the best practice?
Actually, where can I find those configuration settings for a xamlx file ?
And, how can I configure the WF4 service to use Streaming transfer mode on server side?

In addition, I need to verify the user's identification inside the workflow rather than let them pass in a username and password
for security reasons. If I need to do so, I might need to

Intrusion Prevention: Build Security Into Your Web Services with WSE 2.0 and ISA Server 2004

Once you've addressed security in your code, it's time to look at the environment it runs in. Firewalls stop unauthorized traffic from getting into your network, and smart Web service-specific firewalls, like the one that comes with Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004, bring XML intrusion prevention to your system for that added layer of safety.

WS-Security: New Technologies Help You Make Your Web Services More Secure

Without good security, Web Services will never reach their potential. WS-Security and its associated technologies, the focus of this article, represent the future of security for Web Services. Provided here is an overview of these emerging security standards that explains what they do, how they work, and how they get along together. Topics discussed include integrity and confidentiality and how these are provided by public key cryptography, WS-Security, and more. Some of the key components of WS-Security, such as the wsu namespace, are also covered.

Security improvements have been a top priority in the evolution of IIS. IIS 6.0, which will be part of Windows .NET Server, has improved security features and a new approach to server configuration. New security-related tools for IIS, including IIS LockDown, make securing your server against attack easier than ever. The author explains how and why you can shut down services with IIS LockDown. He discusses limiting port access with TCP/IP filtering, controlling how files are served with extension mapping, what's new for Secure Sockets Layer, the use of URLScan, and more.

Problems with linked server to Analysis Services (SQL 2008)

I have problem with creating linked server from SQL database to Analsis services. BOth services are running on same machine. Operating system is Windows 2008. Problems with References in objects

Hello!! I'm having a problem very specific.. using C# and asp.net I Have a ToolBar(made by myself) that have a DataGrid (made by myself too) as a property on it. In the Page_Load, I instantiate a grid, then instantiate a toolbar and assign the property "grid" of the toolbar to the newly created grid. My grid has a delegate to DataRendering, that i made an override in the aspx.cs page. In this DataRendering, I've hidden some columns of the grid. But, when I try to access the Grid property in the toolbar object, the columns are in the initial state..... I've try to assign as a reference, using the ref keyword, but the result was the same... Someone here already pass through a situation like this? Thanks

Problems installing SQL Server 2005 Integration Services for Server 2008 R2

I am trying to install Microsoft Forefont and i have got a tick on every requirement bar 1. I can't install SWL Server 2005 Integration Services Component. I am running windows Server 2008 R2. I have tried numerous steps such as going into to control panel and adding component but the Integration services is not appearing on the options. Is it actually possible to install 2005 integration services on server 2008 and if so how? Thanks

Problems with People-picker control in a large organisation.

We are experiencing very slow people searches, when trying to pick a user from a SP group containing 500 names. Some people this week have experienced errors after about 10 minutes of waiting. Background: I have a form where the users need to pick an Authoriser. The List of Authorisers is held in a Custom Sharepoint Group. Site column was then built to select people from that SP Group. The good news is the Lookup address book dialog shows the group members OK Unfortunately if the users do a search in this dialog, or from the main form, the server now takes (on average)  around 3 minutes 51s to find the user (from about 500 names), and sometimes fails completely - either with an error, or just returns control to the form with no result. Has Microsoft changed the algorythm for this search to search the entire AD? (I am working in a huge organisation with domains round the world, some are NT4). On a previous project (last year) a similar search only look 2 s! Any suggestions? Any recent Server packs that might impact this (possitively or negatively?) Thanks Ruth, UK
