version control for .xamlx files in vs2010

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :JQuery

Hi ,

This is my scenario:

I have a solution having multiple projects in it. There are several workflow files(Template1.xamlx,Template2.xamlx)files in my Business Logic Project. User Interface is a web application project that uses the service references of each of the workflows(Template1Reference, Template2Reference).

I have some threads which are running live . I need to update Template1.xamlx by adding another activity in the workflow.

I wanted that existing Template1 threads should continue to run in the old version (v1) and new threads to run in V2 of Tenplate1.

Template2 has no change.

My queries are:

How can i update Template1.xamlx and deploy ?

Do i need to create Template1_V2.xamlx file and update the Template1V2Reference in Template1.aspx page? or can i use the same Template1Reference in .aspx page.

If Template1.xamlx needs to be updated to version 2 , do i require Template2.xamlx to be upgraded to version 2 also ?

will the endpoint configuration of both workflows needs to be changed?

Kindly share your suggestions.

Thanking in advance

Specify CLR Version When Using Al.exe to Generate Publisher Policy Files

I'm trying to generate a publisher policy for for .NET 4.0 assemblies. However, I noticed that the version of mscorlib that the generated policy file references is always 2.0.0. Is there a way to specify .NET 4.0 as the CLR? Otherwise, when you install this assembly, it gets installed into the C:\Windows\assembly folder instead of the new .NET 4.0 assembly GAC location.

Full Control users only able to edit Shared Version of page in MOSS 2007

Hi, In MOSS 2007 we have a site collection that does not allow the owners to edit pages. There is no broken inheritance in the permissions, and when a user clicks "Site Actions" and then "Edit" they get a toolbar saying they are only editing the Shared Version of the page. No pages are checked out to any other users either and the users attempting this (including the Farm account) are not able to edit these pages. What would be the next steps to debugging this problem as it is not one I have encountered previously?

WPF- Back/Forward navigation UI not working when Html web files are displayed in Frame Control

I am integrating (web) html files in my WPF application using Frame (say Source=http://www.microsoft.com)

I set the JournalOwnership="OwnsJournal" and

The navigation UI is visible and disabled initially when the page loads up (which is fine), but when I click on links the Back/Forward button is not enabled.  Interestingly the context menu shows Back/Forward and I can navigate that way. Do you have pointers?

Thanks for your help.

Question about Workflow in Document Library with version control and check-in/out enabled

I use Sharepoint Foundation 2010 and have a workflow to set some metadata in a document with version control and check-in/check-out enabled (approval content is not enabled because anyone in the team can be a possible editor of the document).

My metadata is:

- a generated doc id with text+id (example P&D_1)

- a calculated status based in version: minor version = "on development" and major-version="published/approved"

I defined two workflows:

1) is called when item is created to define id and status.

2) is called when item is updated and status is re-calculated if version is major. (It is called in every item change, not only when user wants to publish a major version, because this option doesn't appear in SPD)

I noticed that sharepoint workflow must do a check-out to be able to update metadata, and because of this the version number is incremented. When version is minor, I don't care, but when version is major I have a problem, because just after publishing the version 1.0, the workflow changes metadata and the version to 1.1. and 1.1 means that the document is not approved anymore...

a) Isn't it possible to do the workflow to check-in and override the last/current version to not generate a new version??

b) Or is it possible to stop versi

Sharepoint Document Version Control

I am wanting to migrate a number of existing documents into sharepoint so they can be version managed.  However, most of these documents are already up to version 10 etc (on a manual system), I am wanting to start the versioning in sharepoint at a particular version instead of 1.  Has anyone done this?

Error opening excel files stored in SharePoint 3.0 from VS2010 (TFS2010 setup)

First I hope this is the correct forum for te below question, and if not, please excuse and if possible divert me to the correct place.

We have a TFS2010 setup with (what I managed to identify) Sharepoint Services 3.0.
We have 2 users working in the same collection, and also share some of the projects in it with the below problems:

1. User A has Office 2007. She is unable to "edit workbook" on an excel file directly from VS2010, and gets an error of 'Unknown error trying to lock file'. I searched this around and didn't find a solution, but did find a workaround - If she checks out the file directly from the SharePoint site, she is able to edit the file, and in fact is able to later "edit workbook" directly from VS2010 (as long as she once checked it out through SharePoint).

2. User B has Office 2010. When he tries to "edit workbook", he gets an error of 'A problem occurred while connecting to the server. If the problem continues, contact your administrator'. When he goes directly to the SharePoint, he is able to check out the file, open it in Excel 2010, but is not able to check it back in (gets an error that the file cannot be located or so, I don't have the exact error). This means that this user cannot work with the SharePpoint stored files at all, and currently works on local copies on hi

Reporting Services Designer (LayoutEditor) Control to edit RDLC files?

I have Visual Studio 2008, with the Business Intelligence Toolset.  I want to build a WinForm application for my group that will contain a ReportViewer object.  ReportViewer will only accept Reports from an RDLC file with the 2005 schema, not the 2008 schema.

I also want the users to be able to build and view their Reports on the fly using the tool, without Visual Studio.  It is possible to do this by manually editing the XML file, but nothing beats having a GUI.  I have found that I can include the Microsoft.ReportDesigner.LayoutEditor control in my application (from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies), which allows me to create and edit RDL 2008 files on the fly, but I cannot view them with the ReportViewer.  I do not see this as an issue, because our company has a site license, and the program will not be externally distributed.

Where can I find the DLL that contains the ReportDesigner to create RDLC 2005 files?  Since I can right-click and Add a Report object in Visual Studio 2008, and it opens with the 2005 editor, I know it must be somewhere on the computer, but I could use help finding the Winform control.

Client browser using cached files instead of updated version after deployment

We have an ASP.NET web application and it's hosted using IIS 6.0, in the app we have these several javascript and css files located in a folder, and for performance sake (according to YSlow) we set the folder content expiration header to 1 year. Everything worked just fine until recently when we deployed the latest build to the server, in which we had made some changes to those javascript and css files. For some reason after the deployment some of our end users don't see the latest changes when they connected to the app, even after they cleared the cache in IE. We have also restarted the IIS on the server and the problem still remained. When I went into the IE Temporary Internet Files folder on one of these machines I saw the files were still the older version and not the latest one, I had to manually delete the files from the Temporary Internet Files folder then they were able to see the latest changes. I'm baffled by this, how come only some users who couldn't see the changes but some others do (without having to do anything by the way), and how do I make sure that for future releases we won't have to do anything like what did (manually deleting the cached files)? For now I disabled the Content Expiration option in IIS for these files but I would like to know if there is a way that I can enable the content expiration (to help performance) but

2010 SharePoint global setting for document Library version control?

Apparently new Document Libraries created in Sharepoint are no longer set up the way we would like as far as version control.  Is there any way to set up SP so that any new document library created has specific settings, through Central admin control?

i do see that previous versions this was not possible, but was curious if they changed this in 2010?
