I would like for my clients to be able to create their own workflow and store it in a database for future execution. I am new to WF, so any help would be much appreciated. Here's the scenario:
They can create 1:M workflows that are associated with an object - say a new business application. Once they save the new business application the object will check in the database for all the workflows that will apply to it, and the workflow engine
will run each of the workflows. Where I am getting stuck is once they design the workflow (via winforms rehosting), what do I do next? I'm sure it has to be compiled, by what and into what? And once the compiled item is arrived at, I can
store it in the db. From there when they save the new business application I load the compiled workflow into (what)? How do I pass it into a workflow hosting engine?
The workflows will include code too.
I'm sure all of this is possible - I just don't know where to dig in. Any suggestions are very welcomed!
p.s. I'm not interested in storing instances running through a workflow - that I get. It's the workflows themselves. :)
