VS 2010 - Could not find Silverlight SDK v4.0

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :JQuery

Hello,

A while back I upgraded my Visual Studio License to VS 2010, installed Silverlight (versions 3 and 4) and started coding. Just last week I installed a copy of MS Expression Ultimate and MS office 2010 and becuase I was having difficulty with these, I ran a registry clean. the combination of the installs and registry clean has completely messed up my VS 2010 giving me the following error :

System.NotSupportedException

VS 2010 - Could not find Microsoft Silverlight SDK v3.0

Hi all,

I recently installed new Visual Studio 2010 Professional from Microsoft Dreamspark. Before this I had VS 2008, also Professional, I didn't uninstall it and I use it as a backup. I also have Expression Studio 3 installed (also from Dreamspark). For the record I have Windows 7 Ultimate (cs-CZ).

When I want to create new Silverlight project, everything goes fine. But when the new/opened Silverlight project loades into the designer, I see this error:

System.NotSupportedException

Patch for VS 2010 Find and Replace Dialog Growing

One of the top reported Microsoft Connect issues with VS 2010 has been an issue with the Find and Replace dialog - which grows 16px each time you use it (which is pretty annoying). The Visual Studio team recently released a patch that fixes this issue. You can download and apply it here. Hope this helps, Scott P.S. A few people reported issues installing the patch if they had an older version of the Silverlight 4 tools installed.  If you see an error message that says you need an update to Visual Studio to support Silverlight 4, you can fix it by installing the latest Silverlight 4 tools release.
