I'm at a total loss here.
I'm looking at a field support issue from a customer using our SharePoint integration product. I initially developed this product on 2007 a few years ago and since have been working on other projects. Well, we're a little short staffed right
now, so I had to dust off the code and take a crack at it. We've shipped a few new versions since and we officially support 2010 - meaning it passed QA and I've seen the product work as expected on 2010 environments. In fact, the customer in question
is running 2010.
I'm running Windows 7. We don't officially support Windows 7 since SP2010 doesn't, but this is my development machine and that's what I have. I installed SP2010 according to the MSDN guide on the subject and did not change any default setting.
This is a standalone out of the box installation I'm running.
So, let me cut to the chase:
We create custom timed jobs. We create them with SPJobDefinition. We call Update().
No matter what I do, I cannot get SP2010 to produce any result other than to throw a SecurityException. I know this code works in 2008 production environments but I cannot figure out how to get this to work.
