Is there any way to have an immediate word to pdf conversion in sharepoint 2010

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

Hi all

Am trying to find an immediate word to pdf conversion in sharepoint 2010, as the user uploads a word document to the document library , looking at different articles like http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff181518.aspx  ,

It seems to be there is no way other than waiting for the timer job to run as configured , so can anyone advise on how to get an immediate conversion?

Thanks in advance

sharepoint 2010 document conversion job started but never completes

I trigger the conversion of a Word.docx file to convert to PDF but the Job never completes. It just says this under the status column but nothing under the outcome column. I have waited for 48 hours to be sure it just wasn't slow. "Conversion Job with Id=00000000-0000-1064-8041-acbca36dcb07 started" There is nothing in the event log nor in the Sharepoint Log that says there is a problem.

how do I pass in a standard xml+xsl to be converted through the Sharepoint 2010 Document Conversion

How do I pass in a standard xml+xsl to be converted through the Sharepoint 2010 Document Conversion? Via the SDK I have been able to code a c# workflow that converts word files in a Sharepoint 2010 Document Library (docx, dox, word.xml) to PDF successfully but want to pass in an xml+xsl file to this engine if possible. Actually I have xml, xsl, and if needed xsl-fo files to deal with but would be happy if I could figure out how to make the Document Conversion engine do the xml+xsl transform and then send that to a doc file in Sharepoint.

Word 2010, Save to SharePoint, Browse for a location, nothing happens

I want to save a document to my sharepoint workspace but in Word 2010, Save to SharePoint, Browse for a location, nothing happens.  I click the button which flickers but nothing appears.

Word 2010 crashes everytime I try to load a doc from SharePoint 2007.

Every time I try to load a doc from our sharepoint site, Word stops working and crashes.  I have repaired Office from Programs and Features, I have renamed the WWLIB.DLL as bad and then repairec again (It came back) and I can not find a dupolicate version of the owssupp.dll file.  In fact the only file in the Office 11 is the UCSribe.dll and it is not duplicated in the Office 14 folder.  The Event viewer gives this error Faulting application name: WINWORD.EXE, version: 14.0.4734.1000, time stamp: 0x4b58fb0e Faulting module name: wwlib.dll, version: 14.0.4734.1000, time stamp: 0x4b58fba1 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00612406 Faulting process id: 0xc98 Faulting application start time: 0x01cb5110726d8727 Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\WINWORD.EXE Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\wwlib.dll Report Id: b4600a6b-bd03-11df-988f-463500000031   Does anybody have a solution for me? THis is a very fresh install (<6 months old).
