ways to set xslt variable from a javascript

Posted By: Posted Date: April 10, 2011 Points: 0 Category :C#

Hi,

My DFWP page is created on a subsite (http://sp2010/mysub) and put on a root site (http://sp2010) inside IFrame. It works great.

However, the links to the list items are composed in a hard-coded fashion:

Due to having to serve internal and external sites, I'd like to use the root site variable to make this hyperlink. Is there a way to set xslt variable from a javascript to achieve this? Thanks

How to prevent special character encoding when using xslt value in javascript variable

Hi, I've created a dataview and inserting a little bit of javascript. I need to store one of the xslt values into a javascript variable. The problem is that when I get the value into my javascript variable, it is already encoding special characters . for example, instead of "<", I get "<" Am I doing something inaccurate here? I even tried using the javascript unescape() function, but that didn't work. would you be able to advise how to get the xslt value into a javascript variable as it is without having the original data changed? <xsl:template ... ... Pman http://www.pmansLab.com/

How to declare variable and assign value in xslt

Hi, I am writing xslt to create HTML by using input xml data. The input XML looks like this ID Name Description 1 Name1 Description Something1 Name1 Description another text2 Name2 Some text2 Name2 Some text22 Name2 Some text2 Here Id is primary, where Name is unique as per ID. I want to show the output the following way Name1 * Description Something * Description another textName2 * Some text * Some text2 * Some text2 So I want to declare a variable in XSLT and make a loop in records and store the previous record ID. IF the previous record id is same, then no need to show the name. But when I declare in the following xslt, I am getting 'The variable or parameter 'xxx' was dublicated within the same scope' error<xsl:output method ="html" media-type="text/html" encoding="iso-8859-1" /> <xsl:template match="Details"> <xsl:variable name="counter" select="0"/> <xsl:for-each select="XMLParentNode/XMLDetailNode/XMLSubDetailNode"> <xsl:if test="$counter = 1">
  <xsl:value-of select="NAME" disable-output-

Problem setting variable/param in XSLT for XML control in .NET 4.0

Setting a session variable OR passing along information in Javascript

Hello, Form1 needs to send information to Form 2. Form2 opens in it's own window and is sized smaller. I need to send information to Form2 in order to set parameters in the query in Form2. At first I was just going to use an asp button control and load up some session variables, then I remembered that in order to have the next screen (Form2) open in its own window and be able to size it, I had to use an input type="Button" and use Javascript to open the new window like this: But by doing this, I don't know how to pass the information along I need for Form2. How can I pass variable information to Form2? The data comes from two textboxes on Form1: txtStartDate and txtEndDate. Thank you.

Dynamically display images based on a variable - JavaScript

I am trying to bring in a specific image based on a variable brought into the page with a querystring. I initially thought having an array with the image's URL in it would work, but I am having problems associating the array index with the variable. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. XSLT Filter By Variable

I've been stumped on this problem for 2 days and any help would be VERY appreciated.

I have a list that I had to use strings instead of date fields for to comply with a legacy system. I need to compare those dates to todays date to pull numeric values for a field named 'Current' when the date is less than the current date. In order to make these dates comparable, I linked to another data source that is a conversion table that contains a column with each of the strings and another column with the actual date value for that string. I used the following lines of code to do that conversion:

<xsl:variable name="Datevar" select="@planDateVar"/>
<xsl:variable name="Date" select="/dsQueryResponse/Rows/Row[@Title=$Datevar]/@ConvDate"/>

When I attempt to pull the value for current using the variable "Date", it seems to be only comparing the first value where the other paramaters are true then summing the rest regardless of the date comparison. If the first value of @planDateVar in the list is less than today's date, it will sum all of the rows where the rest of the parameters are true. If the first value of @planDateVar in the list is greater than today's date, it will sum to 0.

I think that if I could get the variable $Date to pull for each corresponding row in the PlanD

ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript Snippet Support (VS 2010 and .NET 4.0 Series)

This post covers another useful improvement in VS 2010 - HTML/ASP.NET/JavaScript snippet support. Snippets allow you to be more productive within source view by allowing you to create chunks of code and markup that you can quickly apply and use in your application with a minimum of character typing.

Visual Studio has supported the concept of "snippets" for VB and C# in previous releases - but not for HTML, ASP.NET markup and JavaScript. With VS 2010 we now support snippets for these content types as well.

Six easy ways to customize your site using Web Parts in SharePoint

Becoming familiar with Web Part customization techniques gives you a range of page-customization choices. For example, you can customize your site's home page so that it displays the specific information that your team needs. You can rearrange the list items on the home page, add lists, and even change the images on the home page. As you become more familiar with Web Part Page customization techniques, you can build interactive Web Part Pages that makes the data in lists more dynamic and useful, and you can add new Web Parts that provide access to external data and Web services.

call JavaScript - jQuery code from ASP.NET Server-Side

jQuery got so close to me lately that I can see myself adding the scripts to my project almost unconsciously. The thing is, jQuery is very useful for me, in almost all situations and it has been a do or die enhancement for all my project since I first put my hands on it.

Of course while using it, you encounter few situations which need a bit of research to solve, mostly when you are trying to combine it with some other technologies like: UpdatePanels and ASP.NET Ajax. For instance there are many situations when I would like to run some jQuery magic based on some decision that I make on the server side.
