How can add a Contain Editor Web Part to a Masterpage in SharPoint 2010

How do you add a Contain Editor Web Part to a Masterpage in SharPoint 2010? I read and noticed that you cannot add a WebPart zone to a master page but it says you can add a web part. I tried going through SharePoing designer and dragging it to the canvas but it wont let me. Any ideas?

restrict rich text box to certain fonts and colours in content editor web part - Sharepoint 2010 -

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows a way to make only certain fonts and colours available to rich text box in the content editor web part?

also is there a way to make only certain features available in the rich text box, ie only let the users change font, but not let them use bullet points etc.

Thanks

Dane

Content Query Web Part missing in SharePoint 2010

If you don't see content query web part listed in the web parts list, this is because you have not enabled "Search Server Web Parts" feature in site collection features. Enable this feature and content query web part will show in the list of web parts.

Feature available to Silverlight 4 with VS 2010.

In Part I of this article series we have seen some features available to Silverlight 4 with VS 2010. We will continue to explore more in this article.

Issues with Visual Studio 2010 editor

hi all,

I am having a weird problem with VS 2010. I am using the premium edition.

It seems that none of the asp controls <asp:..> tag are recognized by the editor. I keep getting a green underline under each control name. To check this, I have created a brand new web site targeting .NET framework 4.0 and even in the auto-generated pages, none of the asp controls is recognized. I am also unable to see the properties of any control if I click inside the tag (at an attribute). All I get is the ID of the button and the tag <HTML ELEMENT>! Furthermore, when I drop an ASP control from the toolbox, the attribute "ID" is not generated. Only when I switch to the design view that I can get to see the properties of the control and the ID is set automatically. The message for the green underline says: Element 'Button' is not a known element. This can occur if there is a compilation error in the Web Site, or the web.config file is missing.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Thanks,

Talal

Content Editor Web Part in default.aspx not copied over.

I have a CEWP with some content in the default.aspx page on one site, and I downloaded and uploaded the default.aspx page to another site collection. But when I display the default.aspx page in the browser the CEWP is not there anymore.

Is the CEWP detached from the default.aspx page and must also be copied over to the new site collection? If so, then where is the CEWP stored?

Thanks for any help.
