CQWP - can you roll up two different content types?

SharePoint content types provide users with a way to manage and organize content in a more meaningful way. It's a reusable of settings you want to apply to a particular type of document in a library or item in a list.

In this article I will try to describe the one of the best feature in Microsoft office Share Point 2007 called Content Types.

Content types are simply collection of contents.Each content in a Content type can have different settings.Basically it is a reusable collection of settings which you want to apply to a particular category of contents.

Learn how to create a list in SharePoint Server 2010 and associate it with a new content type. Next, you disassociate the list from the content type and then delete the list.

We use MOSS for document management and content types for document types (i.e. specification, quote, PO etc.)).  We would like to add additional content types to our libraries.  I was hoping to find a tool that would help me to propagate these new content types ad I am not a programmer.

Hi, I have a document libary where I have 10 InfoPath content types attached. For eg: Type1, Type2 etc... Type10. In this doc lib, I have a folder for each cutomer, and inside each of those folders, I have a file of each Content type (".xml"). I am creating these Folders and files programatically. The problem is that, the files are not picking up its content types. Every file (.xml), when uploaded, its content type is "Document" which is the default content type. Earlier it used to pickup the correct content types. What could be wrong?

I have a Picture Library and am trying to use the CQWP to display a list of items in the library.  The web part shows the items fine in authenticated mode, but it fails to show the items to anonymous users. Has anyone run into an issue where your system's base content types dissappear after deploying a new site definition.  We are doing a proof of concept using several CMS solutions and decided to see how sharepoint would fare in the process.  I worked on the POC for 6 weeks without any issues.  After selecting sharepoint as the solution I started refactoring my code into a more logical structure as many of the components were developed from sample code.  I created a couple of custom site definitions that were pretty simple.  Basically I copied the onenet.xml from the publishing site template that sharepoint uses and made a few simple modifications like associating my custom master page and a custom content type with the default page.  When I initially developed these I had no issues at all but yesterday I suddenly was not able to create sites using these site defs.  I figured there was some kind of conflict with my old templates so I deleted all site collections on the server and then tried to create a new site collection and then I couldn't even create a base publishing site.  I got an error indicating the base content type did not exist.  After spending hours going through logs it was clear that sharepoint was not able to build the content type hiearchy when creating new sites so I took a look at the UI and there were only abo

HI, How can I add a new column to existing content type. The field shoule be reflected to new lists created using the content type as well to old lists created using the content type. None of functionalities associated with old lists should get affected. Thanks,kesari suresh

When creating a reusable workflow I choose a base content type. I would really like to assign this workflow to the content type at site collection top level and get it to automatically work in all lists that include this content type, and also have it set to work for all children of this top level content type. It seems to me that I have to manually associate this workflow to all lists and content types? I am missing something here? Henning
