Project application Services can't start

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

First,I use windows server 2008 RC0  Enterprise, then I setup sharepoint server 2007 ,finally ,i setup project server 2007,After Run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard, when I Configure the farm services for Project Server application servers,In the Service list, find Project Application Service. In the same row under the Action column, click Start. but i can't start it.

i think it's because I use windows server 2008 RC0  Enterprise, when i 'm having some trouble starting Excel Calculation Services from the Central Administration page > Operations,i can't start it also. but

I can start Excel Services on Longhorn (Windows Server 2008) through the following command line:

STSADM.EXE -o provisionservice -action start -servicetype "Microsoft.Office.Excel.Server.ExcelServerSharedWebService, Microsoft.Office.Excel.Server, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c"

how can i use the same way to start Project Application Service<

VS 2008 Web Application Project

Hi, I am working on a VS time clock project to be used for student's to clock in and out. When the student clocks in the time/date is saved to a temp table. Upon login out to the login screen for the next user to use I need to save the clocked in time to a permanate table. It is an update from the temp table to the permanate table. However, when the page redirects to the login page, I recieve the dbnull to date is invalid error. Now understand, when the page is redirecting to the login page for the next user, the only way I could figure out to get the browser to forget the sessionstate, was to use a delete statement that removes the data from the perm table, but before it erases it, I need to save it to the permanate database table.

Anyone have a solution they can send my way??

Thanks :)

The Microsoft .NET platform provides you with a rich set of services for building profilers and application monitors for applications targeting the Common Language Runtime (CLR). These services expose runtime events that occur during the execution of a .NET application. They can be used to obtain information about managed code being executed under the runtime. This article describes the .NET CLR Profiling Services and shows how to use the services to build a simple profiler that will provide hot spot information for any .NET application. The sample profiler can easily be modified to suit other profiling and monitoring needs.

Where is StartPage.cproj : Custom Start Page Project Template

I am reading through Wrox Professional Visual Studio 2010.
In Chapter 3, there is an example of how to customize and extend the start page.

So he wants you to copy the files from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\StartPages\<Culture>
into
C:\Users\<user name>\Documents\Visual Studio 10\StartPages. He say you may need to create this because it may not exist by default. So I would just copy the files into:
C:\Documents and Settings\Sam\My Documents\Visual Studio 2010\StartPages and work from there right?

Then he says double click StartPage.csproj to opent the WPF project in Visual Studio 2010.
But StartPage.csproj simply does not exist anywhere.

I have installed Visual Studio 2010 sdk and the Custom Start Page Project which shows up in extension manager.
I just can't figure out how to use it.

I am on Windows XP.

Cannot find Manage services under Service Application of Central admin

We have Intranet solution based on SharePoint 2010 small farm. Somehow we don't see Manage services on server under the Service Applications in the central admin. Portal seem to work otherwise fine. When we opened the page to browser http://servername:14082/_admin/Server.aspx we received error: Access denied. We have tried to login with Admin, SP_Farm and SP_Admin user, but access denied every time. I checked who have Full user rights in the Central admin. It is SP_Admin Admins of the Sitecollection is SP_admin and Administrator. Why this happens?Kenny_I
