We have workbooks inside of our SharePoint site, using NTLM authentication and Excel Services connectors. They correctly display graphs when the page is first opened, but all of them throw an error when users try to trigger an update. The error message sayss
"Excel. An error occurred during an attempt to establish a connection to the external data source. The following connections failed to refresh: [name of any data cube in use]. Learn more about data refresh." We are not using Power Pivot (which may
make it easier, but is not authorised for use by our server administrators yet).

My requirement is I need to create a custom control which need to retrive data from sharepoint list, The list contain some sites information like Title, url, Scope my requirement is i need to display sites Title in my custom control and when i click on title
(site name) in custom control it need to be redirect to that site and whenever list data updated automaticaly custom control data also need to be apdated automatically .
Hi i have content query web part. now i want to show the sharepoint list data into my content query part
using CQWP setting, i am able to get only one column data but not all.
pls let me know how can i get all list data in different style format
1. I created an team site in sharepoint server 2010.Nothing I added extra to the site.
2. Then I opened that site in sharepoint designer and created a new external data type.
this is an SQL server. I have a small database in my server, I added that as an external data type to this site.
3. I am able to add the database to my site.
4. Then I created an External List of type contact list as my database has article ID, author, data of creation etc.
5. This creation also sucessfull and when I clicked on create button , my external list appeared on the quick launch but it didn't displayed anything on the page it showed up the below error on the page.

i am displaying data from sharepoint list into content query web part.
i have also mentioned column name in commonfield properties after exporting web part and save it.
but it is showing only two column name.
i have also inserted images url in sharepoint list, but i am not able to see images in CQWP.

In 2007, I never had any issues with doing this. In 2010, I created a web part that looks at the Pages list and pulls a few columns and as long as I am within the site, it works fine. But I need to call information from the Pages list in a subsite and display
that information on the parent site default page.
In 2007, I made this work by changing ListID to ListName and DefaultValue="Pages" and then change the WebURL to DefaultValue="/SubsiteName/" then place it anywhere and it found it. Now if I change the ListID to ListName and default value to Pages I get an
error that the web part cannot be imported. if I try using the actual ListID and change the WebURL to the subsite, I get an error that the web part is looking for a list that does not exist. This worked so easily in 2007.
Any one able to tell me what's going on? Or have a solution?
I want to show search result as default parameters when initiation of business data list.
Is there any solution to solve this problem. Thanks.
i need to insert data remotely in a sharepoint list using a vbscript.
my list is a custom list with :
field1 field2 field3 field4 etc
my vbscript insert this data into an sql table, i want to insert the data in the custom list in sharepoint.
Someone can help me?
In sharepoint designer i am editing NEWFORM.aspx for a custom list and adding a custom list form to the page. When i try add item i get a correlation error : "hiding key filters and downgrading tree functionality to legacy ListViewWebPart(v3) level
for this list."

From the "Requirements" for this web part (link below) I should be able to install it (my environment includes server 2008 R2, CRM 4.0, and SP 2010. I am getting an error "Setup could not be completed. Try launching from the administrator Command Prompt
using msiexec /i ...." Has this web part been installed on Server 2008 R2 or is it only for Server 2008?
I'm building a Sharepoint page with a data form web part that uses custom SELECT and UPDATE statements with an SQL Server connection in order to retrieve and store records of information.
I'm getting along fine, records seem to update how they should etc, but I've ran into a problem with one thing: Sharepoint dropdownlists in 'Edit Template'
So the issue is this: if I replace a textbox field with a dropdown list that is populated with a separate SQL datasource, the dropdown list seems to be unable to show the current value of the field.
E.g. I have a dataview which has a field "FruitID", which I can update just fine by setting the ID value to different numbers. The SQL datasource uses the FruitID to display a list of all available Fruits, (e.g. 1 = Banana, 2 = Apple, 3 = Cherry,
If i open the dataview in editmode, the default value in the dropdown is null, despite the real value of the field being "2", which should show "Apple" in the dropdown.
I can select a fruit and click save, and it will update just fine. But the initial display needs to show the correct value to start with.
Is there a custom binding I should be coding to make this work? I can't configure dropdown <items> on an individual level as they are populated from the SQL server. I can't set "SelectedI
