Access denied when user clicks refresh BDC column button

Access denied occurs with any non Site Collection Administrator regardless of rights.  It only occurs in this site collections, others they are able to refresh.  In this particular collection they can add a BDC column to a list, edit an item and place/resolve a value in the bdc col; but when they refresh they are given an acess denied.  Any thoughts on what they need read access to?  This goes away if I give site admin privs (dont want to do that) or give them read only access on the web application (dont want to do that either).

Programmatically Mapping Custom SharePoint Column on Non-browser Enabled InfoPath Form

I have an InfoPath form, which, due to control requirements, is not browser enabled. It is being programmatically added as a content type to SharePoint (MOSS 2007). All users have Office 2007 installed so they will be able to open the form. I also have a custom multi-line column in the SharePoint document library. I can manually publish the form and map the column to a field of the form, but I need to be able to do this programmatically.

We are currently deploying the forms by modifying the publish url in the xsf during install. We have tried to modify the site coulmn GUID in the template xsf during install without success.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how we can programmatically promote the InfoPath field so it is visible in SharePoint?

Refresh data source view gets 'column' argument cannot be null

How do I programmatically resize a column in my dataGridView?

Well, this question has bugged me for the last hour or two but not really finding the answer completely on the web I thought I would post up the answer to this question here to help others.

Problem: I have a dataGridView on my form showing data from a database. It has a number of columns. One of these columns is 'Email address' and it may or may not by default width display the full address, in the visible cell. I want to click a button and it resizes the column to display the full length of the email address. This is done by setting the columns 'AutoSizeMode'. We have various options but I found 'AllCells' covers the entire column (whether displayed or not). That’s it, but I wanted to also manually add a bit more to the size of the column but because AutoSizeMode is set to ‘AllCells’ any attempt to resize manually / programmatically wont work. So we have to set AutoSizeMode to ‘none’. Then we can set the column width to what every we want. In this case I wanted to set it to 30 pixels more than minimum width required to show the longest email address. This I did for printing out purposes (How to do printing and print preview is the subject of another of my posti

Tooltip for GridView Column Headers (ASP.Net)

I just wanted to add auto tooltips for my GridView headers. There are couple of ways but I don't want to use javascript and wanted to use simple 'title' attribute. It took couple of hours to get the working code supporting sortable columns. I thought it will be very useful for others. Here's the code and logic behind it.

Export SharePoint List to Excel Spreadsheet Programmatically using C#

In SharePoint applications, Custom Lists are used to store business data and Document Libraries to store the documents. But for data manupulation and analysis, Microsoft Excel provides very rich features as compared to SharePoint Lists. That's why people still loves to work on Microsoft Excel Sheets.

Multiple Column Dropdownlist for the ASP.NET DataGrid

Based on my previous control "Multiple Column DropDownList for ASP.NET", I received many emails asking for the same control to be used in the DataGrid for web applications. Here we go.. This control can be used as the regular MS DropDownList in the DataGrid and also as a regular dropdownlist. It has all the properties, like DataTextField, DataValueField, DataSource, SelectedIndex etc. The download file contains the samples both in VB.NET and C#. In this sample, I have used the Northwind database of SQL Server.

How to programmatically add controls to Windows forms at run time by using Visual C#

Create a Windows Forms Application
Start Visual Studio .NET or Visual Studio 2005 or a later version, and create a new Visual C# Windows Application project named WinControls. Form1 is added to the project by default.
Double-click Form1 to create and view the Form1_Load event procedure.
Add private instance variables to the Form1 class to work with common Windows controls. The Form1 class starts as follows:

Alternating row background for first column of a report

is there a way to make the first column of a report use the an alternating background color?

I have the background color set for the entire row however it does not work for the first column if the color is set to an expression.  If I just set it to a color i.e. red it works just fine. If I insert a dummy column to the left it works just fine (but the dummy column does not work, presumably because it is first??).

In the file below only the textbox for part number does not show an alternating background.  All others work correctly.

Use a column as parameter for a sds in another column; gridview

Hola, I have a gridview which is bound to a sds which returns 7 columns and I added two columns from the GUI.  What I want is to fill up the 9th column with DDLs and these  DDLS will get their data from a different sds which is using a stored procedure with a single parameter.  I created the 9th row, used template field, made the sds for 9th row, the stored_procedure, threw a DDL in Item template and all  I need now is to pass a parameter in the first column to the sds in the 9th column.  I can code this but i'm getting tired of aspx.cs :) and would like to do it from the GUI.
