Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

I have sharepoint and ssrs on the same computer. I have reporting service setup in intergration mode. I've also set sharepoint up to use the report server DB. This all appear to be well and good. When I try to either deploy a report in ssrs, or upload a reports and view it in sharepoint i recieve the following error:

An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode. --> The request failed with the error message:

Cannot export from a Report in SharePoint integrated mode in a server hardend environment

We have installed Reporting Services 2008 integrated with MOSS with SQL Server 2008 on a 64 bit platform.

The environment has worked fine in test (but the servers are not hardend).

With the production environment, any attempt to export from a report into another format (eg excel, tiff etc) results in an unexpected error within SharePoint requiring closing the browser and reopening.

There are no details behind the error. We can also find no traces of the error within any of the logs (SharePoint, Reporting Services, Windows event log etc)

When the report is opened directly from Reporting Services (ie http://servername:8080/reportserver) the report exports fine. Similarly, if the report is opened directly from Report Builder 2, or through opening Report Builder 2 from SharePoint there is no issue. This issue only happens when the report is invoked directly through SharePoint.

We can only assume that this issue has something to do with server hardening/UAC as we have

Hello folks! I've faced some strange error with RB 3.  My environment is: Win 2008R2+SQL2008R2 CU3+Sharepoint Foundation services 2010 SharePoint services integrated with Reporting Services.  When I try to run RB3 from SharePoint library and built some report I get strange error at the previw screen : Failed to preview report. SSRS 2008R2 - go back to parent report does not work sharepoint integrated mode

I'm currently using SharePoint Foundation 2010 with SQL Server 2008R2 with the SharePoint RS add-in. I have a report with a drilldown to another report.  I can drill down correctly to the other report.  But when I do the "go back to parent report" it will take me back to the parent report, but when I try to drilldown again to another report, I get the following error. "Message: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled. Details: Error parsing near ' <!DOCTYPE html PUB'. Line: 5 Char: 62099" When I run this report in VS 2008 or Report Builder 3, I have no problems drilling down and back and forth. I only have an issue when I deploy the report to SharePoint.  I have also accessed the RDL directly outside of a webpart page, but still get the same error. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue?

Report action from SSAS to the report in Sharepoint integrated mode

Hello Everyone,

Here is my scenario: I have 3 servers namely:
A = SSAS server
R = SSRS server
S = Sharepoint server

From  Server R reports are deployed in Server S. I have the cube in Server A, and have a report action created with the following values:
Report Server: R/ReportServer/Pages
Report Path: ReportViewer.aspx?http://S/ReportsFolder/SampleReport.rdl
with some parameters passed. This opens up the report in the report server from the Server R.

Coming to my actual question: Is there any way to open the report in the sharepoint site with this report action.

Please help...

Report viewer webpart in sharepoint 2010 foundation with Reporting server in native mode, possible?

We have a product on sharepoint 2010 whose major feature is with the reporting services, we are checking to see if our product can be deployed in a minimum environment of sharepoint 2010 foundation.
we have a minimal test environment with the following :

windows server 2008 R2
SQL Server Express Advanced
Reporting services configured in Native Mode
Sharepoint 2010 Foundation.

I would like to know if we can enable report viewer webpart on sharepoint foundation 2010 with the reporting services in native mode. our plan is that even if the reporting services are not in sharepoint integrated mode, we are thinking of using web services to get XML data and using the XML data in report builder 3.0 to generate reports? will the idea work in this environment? if so can anyone let us know how to get the report viewer web parts in this environment?

Thanks for any help,

500 Error generating SSRS Report in SharePoint Integrated Mode

Our environment looks as follows:

- MOSS 2007 Site/Central Admin (Enterprise) on Server A

- SQL Reporting Services 2008 R2 on Server B

- Report created on workstation using Report Builder 3.0

- SharePoint Library (with Promoted InfoPath fields) is the XML datasource

The report generates perfectly fine in development, but once loading the RDL up to the SP Site we get the following error when trying to view:

An error occurred during client rendering.

The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.

Using this generic information we have checked into numerous apparent fixes, from confirming settings in the Central Admin, to changing the Zone Authentication to NTLM, to ensuring Anonymous Access is disabled, as well as some tweaks in IIS, etc.

We're still not having any luck getting the report to generate.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Upgrade from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008 from SharePoint 2007 SSRS 2005 integrated mode

I"m attempting to upgrade from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008 R2 x64 Enterprise on a server running Windows Server 2003 x64 Enterprise, SharePoint 2007 Enterprise, and SQL Server 2005 and SSRS 2005 Enterprise running in integrated mode.

I installed the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP2 Reporting Services Add-in for Microsoft SharePoint Technologies from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=35c3a13f-4b5e-4d4a-86e4-07ee307b9638&displaylang=en.

When attempting to install Report Builder 2.0, I get the error "Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint products and technologies is not installed."

When I try to run a report (existing 2005 reports already deployed), I get the error: "Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object." The log has repeating ReportingServicesService.exe errors: #20015: Cannot open "Resources.en-US.resx": no such file or folder, and: Localized resource for token 'ManageDatasetCaching_Desc' could not be found for file with path: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\Template\Features\ReportServer\ItemCustomActions\ecbExtension.xml" among other things.

RDL Rendering (500 Internal Server) Error at Sharepoint Integrated Reporting Service

I have a serious problem that cannot be solved by googling around the keywords below:
sharepoint, moss 2007, reporting service, ssrs 2008, rendering, internal server error, ....

The error is;

"An error occurred during client rendering. The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error. "

Everything is O.K.;

* When I render the report from the REPORTSERVER (http://localhost/ReportServer)
* When the reports are scheduled to be sent by the reporting service (planned via MOSS 2007)

But if I open (render) the RDL file from the sharepoint REPORTS LIBRARY interface, all of the reports fail with that internal error message above.

It is weird also that parametrized reports are displayed without errors although the parameters are queried from a sql dataset. But I got the error when rendering the report after I've chosen a parameter  and order "apply/report"...

Possible causes how I met that error may be;

After I have installed (then uninstalled) AJAX extensions
After I have re-configured IIS Web Service Extensions list items

Possible solution alternatives I've found;

I've found a solution on MSDN replying a similar issue with an ideal cause of the error but an evreka answer but no sol

Subscriptions cannot be created, Sharepoint Integrated mode

Error when I try to add subscription: "Subscription cannot be created because credentials used to run this report are not stored." I have SSRS 2005 and WSS 3.0 both installed on a Windows 2008 x64 Server.  SQL 2005 is the database, which his on a 2nd server (also Win 2008 x64). I'm able to publish reports to sharepoint.  I'm able to view them in sharepoint web parts, but only when I set the credentials for the datasource to "stored connections" and check both "Use as windows credentials" and for "Set execution context to account". Everything I read seems to say that I have to use Stored Credentials.  That's what I'm doing though.... necessary in order for me to view the reports within sharepoint.   Other environment things that may be important: The Report Server App Pool is using a domain account.  The same one I'm using to execute the report.  The WSS Content App Pool and the Sharepoint Central Admin App Pool are also using domain accounts.  However all 3 are using different accounts.  I see reference to Kerberos vs. NTLM authentication.  Up to this point I've not had to completely understand that.  So the only thing I do understand about that is that in my Sharepoint Central Admin --> Application Management, Auth Type: Windows; Anonymous is NOT checked, an

Cannot add SQL Server 2008 R2 Report items to SharePoint Server 2010 document library

Using account which is the primary parent site administrator, can upload RDS and RDL files to the document library (however, cannot open report). User is also a domain admin with SA on the database instances. Cannot add Report Data Source with "New Document" icon. The permissions granted to user '[domain]\[user]' are insufficient for performing this operation. Under "Site Settings", "Managed Shared Schedules" fails with same error. Attempting to deploy from BIDS results in the same permissions error. Sharepoint Server 2010, Report Server 2008 R2. RS and SP databases hosted on remote server (SQL Server 2008 R2). All connections (SharePoint services, RS services, users) except SQLAgent authenticating to remote SQL Server with Kerberos (all SPNs look correct). Single site, site collection "/". SharePoint Integrated Mode

Has anyone successfully configured SharePoint integrated mode in SQL Server 2008?  When browsing to the web service url, it throws an Object Reference Not set to an instance of an object with no other information given.  This is a very common error which i trust everyone experiences.  I would just like the resolution.  I've seen many posts on forums regarding this exact error with absolutly NO solutions.  Since I cannot browse to the web service URL, trying to view a report in SharePoint is secondary.
