KPI's Dashboard

In my current project, there are list of kpi's that needs to be displayed on a dashboard with red/green/amber etc and the Trend. This can be done in the following two ways 1) Creating KPI's in SSAS 2008 and display them using SSRS. The report will then be embedded on a sharepoint portal web page. 2) Creating KPI's using SSAS/Sharepoint Portal. The second option is obviously expensive since I cannot use sharepoint foundation. Could you please advise as what would be the best approach.

Show/hide dashboard items Sharepoint

I'm having a problem with trying to filter the appearence of items on a sharepoint site by having a dropdown list and filter according to the current value, The method i am using atm is by having javascript and by looping through all the <td> on page. This works for list views, But not for Performance point dashboard objects/web parts, +

Is there a way to somehow get the title of all performance point objects on a page, fill the dropdownbox show/hide depending on the selected item in the box?

How to deploy dashboards made in dashboard designer to diferent site collections?

Hi I just migrated from sharepoint 2007 to 2010. We used to have performance point dashboards spread across libraries in subsites all across our primary site collection "Http://server:x" after I migrated I understand that I must migrate all performance point content to a new site or site collection made with the business intellingence template. I created a new site collection with this template (Http://server:x/sites/pps) and succesfully migrated all performance point content. Now I want to redeploy all the dashboards to their respective subsites in the  "Http://server:x" site collection so that everything looks exactly as it did when we where using SharePoint 2007. But when I try to deploy to a site I only get the option to deploy it to the ("Http://server:x/sites/pps") site collection and its respective libraries. I wish to manage all dashboard content centralized in (Http://server:x/sites/pps) but I want to deploy dashboards to libraries across  "Http://server:x" is this posible or how is Performance Point services supossed to work?   I also having trouble with DashBoard designer. I have everthing running on a Virtual Machine test enviroment. With windows server 2008 r2, 4 gb ram. Everything installed in one machine. And Suddently DashBoard Designer Crashes In the event log I get the error Dashboa

PerformancePoint Dashboard Problems

I am having a few problems with a dashboard I am trying to create. The first problem, is that I have an analytical chart, that was working correctly before. It is just a line graph with numbers on the y axis, and date on the x axis. When I created the chart, the database only had entries for four days, all of which showed up.  Today, I updated the table to where it has 15 days of data now, but only the original four entries still show up. Secondly, I have created a time intelligence filter. The filter itself works fine when I preview it. The formulas are correct, and my hierarchy is correct. The problem comes when I try to create the connection between the filter and the chart.  On my available fields under the filter, I have, "display condition, time, display value, member unique name, formula, and the name of my data source. I obviously want the time filter to change the time field on my chart.  I dragged "formula" down to the chart, selected Time PK Date as the "connect to," and set formula to the source Value. I believe those should be the correct settings, yes? well when I deploy the dashboard to my sharepoint site, I get this error: "Error running data source query. Contact the administrator for more details."   Since I am the administrator, I checked out the event logs, and was given these errors: --------------

What is "semester" in Dashboard Designer?

Dynamic member selection filters in Dashboard Designer/PPS2010

Question regarding member selection filters in Dashboard Designer (PPS 2010): When selecting the filter members, is there any way to make them dynamic? I.e. when a new member is added (e.g. a new year when we enter one), can it be included without having to manually add them in the filter? Thanks.

How do I nest dimensions in scorecards in Dashboard Designer?

I have a scorecard where I have a KPI on columns and a dimension on rows. That works fine. I can also add another dimension on rows and add it as a parent for example. The only thing I miss is a drilldown "+". What I see is basically a scorecard showing all possible rows, while I want one where I can drill down (or through) and expand rows if I want. How do I get the parent to be expandable? Thanks

How to change the size (width) of scorecard columns in Dashboard Designer?

Is there any way to change the size (width) of scorecard columns in Dashboard Designer?

"Create Dashboard" HideActionId

Hey all, saw one thread regarding this topic, but there wasn't really an answer. I know how to hide things via HideCustomAction but I don't know or can't figure out how to find the HideActionId for the Create Dashboard link. Anyone know? I tried CreateDashboard as that seemed to be the theme for some of the other controls, that being take the last part of the control id. In this case ctl00_PlaceHolderTopNavBar_SiteActionsMenuMain_ctl00_CreateDashboard but it didn't seem to work.   EDIT: I did manage to find the feature in the 12 hive, just not sure which id to use.   Thanks for any help

Integrating the Office Communication Server Archiving Server with a sharepoint dashboard?

Is this possible? I'd like all our communications (which are currently through the yahoo network) to be logged in a central archiving server. This I understand is OOB. I'd then like these archives to be accessible through a share point page. I want to build a CRM dashboard such that when a company is selected it will show all the correspondence on one page with any employee with that company automatically. I'll ask on the sharepoint forums too. Thanks Jamie

PerformancePoint Dashboard using Excel Services - How to export or print?

I have a PPS dashboard in 2010 that has an Excel services report with a nice graph and grid.  I do not see an "export to Excel" toolbar or a print function.  In the old 2007 Sharepoint, the Excel services report had a menu which allowed the user to export to excel (copy / paste) or OPEN in Excel.  (actually open the pivot table) How do I expose that menu bar in 2010?  Thanks.

Dashboard Designer: KPI's - Scoring Pattern "Decreasing is Better" returns confusing values

Good day, I started using Sharepoint a few weeks back. I jumped straight into PerformancePoint Services, and have now now gotten the hang of it, r at least I think. Far from mastering anything though. Problem is: I have a table with three fields, namely ProjectName, ProjectBudget and ProjectCost put very simply. Say for example I have these records... ProjectName ProjectBudget ProjectCost Project A 15 000 20 000 Project B 10 000 20 000 Project C 15 000 15 000 Project D 15 000 10 000 Using ProjectBudget as my Target and ProjectCost as my Actual. How can I ensure that Project A and Project B are displayed as off target, while Project C and D are displayed as on target. Lastly, the percentages that are referred to in the "Thresholds" section, what are they referring to? Please let me know, if I need to provide more info. Thank you very much.

Developer dashboard and forms based authenticated users

I'm having a problem viewing the developer dashboard when logged on as a forms based authenticated site. I know the dashboard has been enabled as when logged in as a windows authenticated user it appears fine. I've used a powershell script like the following and also tried altering the RequiredPermissions property with values of EmptyMask, Open and ViewPages to see if if there is a permissions issues but with no success. http://sptwentyten.wordpress.com/2009/10/20/how-to-enable-the-developer-dashboard/ Should I be able to view the dashboard when using FBA Any assistance would be appreciated as I need to look into an urgent performance issue for a client
