SSRS SharePoint Integrated and publish through TMG Problem

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

Hi,

I am having problems accessing a report after publshing through TMG. I've configured my SharePoint and Reporting Services environment using Kerberos based on the instructions in regards to What every admin needs to know about AAM - http://sharepoint.microsoft.com/blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?List=72c1c85b-1d2d-4a4a-90de-ca74a7808184&ID=804&Web=fb61b44c-8862-4e1d-875b-898c0ed5f1fc. I have 3 servers - one central admin with Web front end, 1 sql ssrs with sharepoint, and one sql db on the back end.

so my AAM setting is as follows based on the AAM article.

default zone: http://sp-internal.dev.com, internet zone: http://sp-external.dev.com (extended zone), internet zone: https://outside.test.com (maps to the extended zone)

I've been able to hit my report and configure reports in Sharepoint using Kerberos. I can access a report using my default zone web application URL but when i access the report through TMG - I get the message "An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode." Also when i look at the TMG logs to access the report, it is looking for the relative url while browsing in sharePoint. But after clicking on the report, the report tries to browse to the external ur

Setting Title on SSRS (SharePoint Integrated Mode) subscription.

I have some subscriptions in SSRS where the report goes directly to a Document Library on Sharepoint.  The subscription works fine, however, I would like to have the Title of the report be the current date that the report is run.  Is there a way to put a formula such as =[today] in the Title field of the File Options section on the Subscription properties?  I have tried this but either it is not possible or I am not using the correct syntax.  Thanks, Tim Olig

Sharepoint and SSRS Sharepoint integrated mode, any side effect ?

Hi, We planned to switch from native mode to sharepoint integrated mode our SQL Server Reporting Server. But it is a production server, so we liked to know if any side effect can happened on existing report and if it is possible to switch an existing database into sharepoint integrated mode ? Thanks, Mathieu Perrin.

SSRS 2008R2 - go back to parent report does not work sharepoint integrated mode

I'm currently using SharePoint Foundation 2010 with SQL Server 2008R2 with the SharePoint RS add-in. I have a report with a drilldown to another report.  I can drill down correctly to the other report.  But when I do the "go back to parent report" it will take me back to the parent report, but when I try to drilldown again to another report, I get the following error. "Message: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled. Details: Error parsing near ' <!DOCTYPE html PUB'. Line: 5 Char: 62099" When I run this report in VS 2008 or Report Builder 3, I have no problems drilling down and back and forth. I only have an issue when I deploy the report to SharePoint.  I have also accessed the RDL directly outside of a webpart page, but still get the same error. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue?

Need the old "Browser" access in the new SharePoint Integrated with SSRS

0 down vote favorite Does anyone know of a way to add or remove items from the "Actions" menu within a report on SharePoint 2010 Integrated with SSRS 2008 R2? I would like to remove "Open with Report Builder" and add "Subscribe" to the Actions menu. I'm working with my SharePoint Server Admin who is at a loss also. I have found how to remove Report Builder from the server but the Admin doesn't want to do that since I am not his only customer. The "Subscribe" option seems to be driven from permissions but I'm not able to get it to show up for my read-only viewers. It shows up for me but I'm not going to give them admin rights. Basically, what I want is the "Browser" role from Report Manager: "May view folders, reports and subscribe to reports." They couldn't open in Report Builder. It seems so basic. I just want people to view reports and if they'd like, subscribe to them. Thank you

Looking for guidance: Integrated SharePoint SSRS migration and upgrade from 2007 to 2010

Our existing prod farm is MOSS 07 with an integrated SSRS instance using SQL Server 2008, both on Windows Server 2003 64bit boxes. SharePoint databases are on a different SQL Server 2008 server.

I have built a new SharePoint 2010 farm on Windows Server 2008 R2 boxes, using a single SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise server as the backend for both SharePoint databases and Reporting Services (installed in Integrated mode). We are going to be using the database-attach method of upgrading our SharePoint farm.

Is there any specific guidance out there on exactly how to migrate/upgrade Reporting Services in this scenario? I've read through some of the MSDN content (How To: Migrate a Reporting Services Installation) but nothing seems to deal specifically with doing this when in Integrated mode with SharePoint. Our business heavily relies on SSRS reports in SharePoint and also shared and custom report subscriptions via email.

We do have a dev SharePoint 2010 farm in a similar configuration that I can test migration/upgrade steps. Thanks.

AAM Problem with SSRS 2008 R2 and Sharepoint 2010

I have a single server farm with Sharepoint 2010 and SQL 2008 R2 installed. I have an extranet zone configured - and this is working fine from the internet via a Forefront TMG box.  All features in the farm, including Performance Point pieces (reports/dashboards etc) are working fine via the extranet zone except for Reporting Services reports (these are working fine in the internal/default zone).  I can see the report library, and the individual report items via the extranet, but when I try to view a report, I get this:

" The Web application at https://extranet.company.asia/client/Report Library/Spend by Media Owner.rdl could not be found. Verify that you have typed the URL correctly. If the URL should be serving existing content, the system administrator may need to add a new request URL mapping to the intended application."

My understanding is that multiple zones are now supported in Sharepoint 2010/SSRS 2008 integrations, and that AAM should propagate automatically (?).  Can anyone assist in helping me understand where to look next?

many thanks,

Steve.

Installation of SSRS 2008 in SharePoint integrated mode

Hi All,

I have got a server (Windows Server 2003 x64) which has the Office SharePoint server 2007 and SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 (in SharePoint Integrated mode) installed in a stand-alone machine (System configured and installed by some other guy). We want to use the SSRS 2008 in SharePoint integrated mode.

I want to make sure that installation and configuration of system is done properly. But i am a starter, so i don't know much where to start.

Please help me which points i have to check to make sure that system is configured properly.

Also i visited the server and found the followings:
1. In central administration, under Application Management tab, Report Services section is not there. ( I think SSRS 2008 AddIn is not installed)
2. Single MSSSQLServer is created for SQL Server 2008, SSRS 2008 and Office SharePoint Server 2007 (Not sure Please let me know where i can confirm this)

Any help is appreciated.

500 Error generating SSRS Report in SharePoint Integrated Mode

Our environment looks as follows:

- MOSS 2007 Site/Central Admin (Enterprise) on Server A

- SQL Reporting Services 2008 R2 on Server B

- Report created on workstation using Report Builder 3.0

- SharePoint Library (with Promoted InfoPath fields) is the XML datasource

The report generates perfectly fine in development, but once loading the RDL up to the SP Site we get the following error when trying to view:

An error occurred during client rendering.

The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.

Using this generic information we have checked into numerous apparent fixes, from confirming settings in the Central Admin, to changing the Zone Authentication to NTLM, to ensuring Anonymous Access is disabled, as well as some tweaks in IIS, etc.

We're still not having any luck getting the report to generate.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

SSRS SharePoint Integrated Mode

Hi Everyone,

We have an SSRS instance under SharePoint Integrated Mode. I just want to know what my options are for deploying SSRS reports. Would it be ok if I don't install SharePoint on the SSRS box? SSRS and SharePoint are on different hardware. Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Prompted for network credentials via internet while accessing SSRS reports in SharePoint integrated

Hi

We have developed a SharePoint- FBA site and published it through ISA.  The site, among many features, displays SSRS reports through Performance Point Monitoring dashboards.  SSRS is using windows integrated authentication (Kerberos).  Through intranet, the reports are getting displayed without any issue, but, through internet, its getting prompted when we try to access the reports for the first time after logging into the site using FBA credentials.  When we enter valid domain credentials after being prompted, it starts displaying reports without any issues and never prompts again for that FBA session.

We have been trying to eliminate the prompt through internet, but couldn't do so.

Has anyone experienced the same before?

Any help is appreciated.

Can't see any data after publish SSRS report to Sharepoint 2007

Hi,

I'm using SSRS 2008 R2 , MOSS 2007 and report Builder 3.0 To generate cascading reports with sharepoint 2007 lists.

I'm able to filter and see the data correctly within report builder .

But if i upload the same RDL file to Sharepoint library and then tries to view the report,i'm not getting any data.(absolutely zero records)

I'm using Report builder 3.0 and sharepoint list as connection string.

Interestingly, if i'm ising XML as a connection string to pull sharepoint list data and then publish the report to sharepoint, i'm able to see the data within sharepoint correctly and i'm able to use the cascading filter and can view the correct data.

Please advice on why i'm not able to see the data if i'm using the connection string" sharepoint list "

This issue is same even if i'm using BIDS 2008 and sharepoint list as connection string.

i would like to use sharepoint list as connection string because of the ease of using it.

Thanks in advance!!

Upgrade from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008 from SharePoint 2007 SSRS 2005 integrated mode

I"m attempting to upgrade from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008 R2 x64 Enterprise on a server running Windows Server 2003 x64 Enterprise, SharePoint 2007 Enterprise, and SQL Server 2005 and SSRS 2005 Enterprise running in integrated mode.

I installed the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP2 Reporting Services Add-in for Microsoft SharePoint Technologies from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=35c3a13f-4b5e-4d4a-86e4-07ee307b9638&displaylang=en.

When attempting to install Report Builder 2.0, I get the error "Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint products and technologies is not installed."

When I try to run a report (existing 2005 reports already deployed), I get the error: "Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object." The log has repeating ReportingServicesService.exe errors: #20015: Cannot open "Resources.en-US.resx": no such file or folder, and: Localized resource for token 'ManageDatasetCaching_Desc' could not be found for file with path: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\Template\Features\ReportServer\ItemCustomActions\ecbExtension.xml" among other things.

Sharepoint and SQL SSRS viewer javascript:void window.open Problem

Ok, I've seen a number of threads similar to this, but I think i have my situation narrowed down pretty tight.

I'm using the javascript:void(window.open action to "pop-up" a drill through report on an SSRS report.  the function works just fine when viewing in the SSRS report viewer...however...

- If i display this report with this function in Sharepoint via the Report VIEWER (or page viewer) web part...the functionality of the pop-up no longer works....

and heres the strange part...

If i put a report EXPLORER part in, and have it set to list the report with the function (also passing what report to open) into a report viewer web part...THE FUNCTION NOW WORKS!?

The SSRS "Jump to URL" action is ="javascript:void(window.open('http://www.google.com'))"

Any thoughts?

It's very strange indeed.  So to summarize,

- Javascript popup worsk in native sql report server interface

- Javascript popup works if the Sharepoint viewer web part GOT its report to view from a report explorer web part

- Javascript popup does NOT repeate NOT work when using a Sharepoint report viewer to directly open the report.
