Unable to get AD profile information using InfoPath form in Sharepoint 2007 browser mode

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

I have followed the threads on this but haven't been able to resolve the issue with any of the suggestions provided.  I need to get the user's first and last name from their profile.  I created an InfoPath form using the "Get current user without writing code" blog directions I ran across here, using the standard userprofileservice.asmx service.  Everything works fine so long as I don't use the SharePoint browser option.  Then I get the error:

An error occurred accessing a data source.
An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server.

Log ID:5566

I have attacked this from every angle I can think of:

IE, Design checker - OK, SSP account, my account have AD read access, no problems getting to the site collection, as stated before, runs fine if I don't use the browser option

Converted the connection to a udcx stored in the same site as the form library - tried both converted and unconverted connection - same problem, removed the connection altogether, everything works fine (but, of course, no profile info), works under InfoPath using either connection

Set form with Domain trust

Published it to a form library, also tried admin approved with full trust and signed - same problem

Ran locally on SharePoint server and remotely - same problem

Submtting Calendar items with variable date information via InfoPath 2007 form

I've seen several posts regarding submitting to a list using and InfoPath form which I am successfully able to do in limited form. (only passing a basic date value) My environment: MOSS 2007 Enterprise w/SP2, InfoPath 2007, SPD 2007.

I'm basically trying to recreate a calendar form with the same data elements (and some additional ones for a specific business requirement) as the standard calendar newform.aspx form. (start time, end time broken down by date, hour, minute and All day event)

I need the form users to be able to select the date and if it is not an All day event...be able to select the hours and minutes just like on the newform.aspx. (date picker control for date and drop downs for hour and minute selection)

On submit I then need to create the list item with the appropriate data passed via a workflow.

My Start Time has a validation rule to not allow dates prior to the current date (and it can't blank) The End Time has a validation rule to not allow dates prior to what is specified as the Start Time value. (Also can't be blank) When I attempt to include conditonal formatting to hide the hour and minute drop downs if 'All Day Event' is selected I get errors stating the fields can't be blank.

I also can't figure out how to pass the entire date/time values or the All Day Event to the list withou

Issue in Infopath 2007 browser form - cascading dropdown using owssvr.dll filter view

Referring the below link, I created a cascading dropdown. The parent dropdown has sharepoint list as datasource and the child dropdown has xml datasource that points to owssvr.dll filter view. The cascading drop down works fine in preview but throws error after publishing as admin approved form - "form cannot run the specified query" exception when trying to execute xml datasource i.e., when a value is selected in parent dropdown. The security is 'Full Trust". In the event viewer the error message states "401 unauthorised" for the user a/c. the xml data source is an approved udcx file and in central admin, have enabled cross domain for infopath service. I have tried different solution provided in tech forums but issue still exists. Not sure whether Im missing something. Can someone guide me in fixing this issue?

Deploying InfoPath 2007 form to WSS 3.0 as browser enabled

Please Help! I've created an Infopath form and wanted to deploy the form as browser enabled to WSS 3.0? What are the different options I can do this? If i cannot use a form then i would like to  create a custom list with all the form fields but the user should be able to enter information in the list and he should see only the information related to him. I don't want to give access of the whole list to each and every user. Only the administrator should be able to see the whole list. The form was actually a user access request form.

Any help and suggestions is appreciated.

How to prevent automatic update from sharepoint list on Infopath 2007 form

Hi there, I've got an Infopath 2007 form on MOSS 2007. I have a custom list in sharepoint and the infopath form has a data connection to that list to receive data. Is there any way to prevent automatic update on the values in the form that is received from the list. I'd like the new form to have updated info received from the list. However, the old/existing forms that were created should have the data that were available at the time when the form was created. Let me know if this is not clear and I'll try to explain more. InfoPath 2007 - Publishing Creates multiple columns on SharePoint Form Library (GUIDS apparently are

I have been working this issue for 2 days now.  This has happened to me in the past and I was able to work through it.  It doesn't appear that this time I am going to be so lucky. Issue Description: When publishing an InfoPath form a new column is created that has the same name as the correct one, but a new GUID is created. Troubleshooting steps: I have read this article: http://www.delphi-ts.com/blogs/lozzi/post/2009/06/03/Duplicate-site-columns-in-MOSS-from-InfoPath-Forms.aspx   This was the solution the last time I had this problem.  However, no matter what I do, it is not working now.  I have a column named User Name which is the username of the person that submitted the InfoPath form for use with my Visual Studio workflow.  When the workflow kicks off, it reads this column and attempts to get the value.  The value is blank because a new column with the name User Name now exists and that is where the value is stored.  I attempted to fix it by remapping the GUIDs as described in the article.  I also reverted the code to a previous version from TFS.  None of these worked.   I now have 3 columns called User Name and I can remap the GUID to the second column and third column.  But when I try to map it to the first column (the one I need) it doesn't work. The first column that is circled is the correct column.

Email InfoPath form located on secure SharePoint 2007 using Outlook

I have a 2007 InfoPath form that is stored on a secure 2007 SharePoint team site that needs to be emailed to outside users for feedback on a certain subject. The form is opened by a team member (with site access), sent to the reviewer to provide feedback (via Outlook 2007), and then submitted back to the team member for review and submission to the SharePoint site.

The issue I've encountered is that the outside user who receives the form in Outlook as the body of the email cannot enter information in any fields in order to provide feedback. The option to "include the form template with the email" is blocked in my InfoPath form options (I believe because the form location is a secured site). I have tried adding the users to permissions in just the library where the form is published to, but they still cannot enter any information.

Can someone provide me with a solution for this problem?

Programmatically Mapping Custom SharePoint Column on Non-browser Enabled InfoPath Form

I have an InfoPath form, which, due to control requirements, is not browser enabled. It is being programmatically added as a content type to SharePoint (MOSS 2007). All users have Office 2007 installed so they will be able to open the form. I also have a custom multi-line column in the SharePoint document library. I can manually publish the form and map the column to a field of the form, but I need to be able to do this programmatically.

We are currently deploying the forms by modifying the publish url in the xsf during install. We have tried to modify the site coulmn GUID in the template xsf during install without success.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how we can programmatically promote the InfoPath field so it is visible in SharePoint?

Problem opening an attachment from Infopath 2007 form in SharePoint 2010

I have an InfoPath 2007 form that is opened as a web based form in SharePoint 2010 that has an attachment control.  In Windows XP with IE 7 when you double click the attachment there is a warning message presented and after you click OK you get a prompt that asks if you want to open or save the file or cancel.  In Windows 7 with IE 8 when you double click the attachment there is a warning message presented and after you click OK you get a prompt that asks if you want to save the file or cancel, no open option.  I already set the SharePoint browser permission to permissive for the site and it doesn't help.  How can I get this to work in Windows 7 and IE 8?

InfoPath 2007 browser form problem in SPS2010

i've one issue with an InfoPath browser form in SharePoint 2010 struggling with it for 2 days now.

I have an InfoPath 2007 browser form with PeoplePicker controls in it and custom code for XMLChangedEventHandler assigned to the PeoplePicker.

Below this Control i have a repeating table with a simple rule: "If the DisplayName is empty, don't show this section."
So if somebody picks up a user, normally the section should be enabled and visible to the user.

But for some reason this is not happening, but when i save the form and reopen it again, then the section is visible.
Opening the Form in Preview (F5) Filler Mode the section gets also enabled correctly. After uploading via Central Admin meaning in the browser not.

I also tried in the Browser tab setting the "Always" postback option to all relevant fields but still not working.

I also put code into the ChangedEvent Handler, when somebody adds a user with the PeoplePicker, then it puts a comment to a field for testing purposes.
This is also not happening by runtime, instead when i reopen the Form, then i can see the comment.

I increased also the Number of Postbacks in Forms Services in the Central Administration without success.
Can anybody help or had the same problem???

Q: How to print out background color in InfoPath 2007 browser form under MOSS form service?

Hi InfoPath experts,

I am trying to print out a custom InfoPath 2007 browser form using "Print View" function offered by MOSS Form Service. It seems like the all background color formats has been stripped out when printed out. Interestingly, only font colors are remain the same in printed-out.
Is there a way to fix this issue? I know you can change the settings: http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/infopath-help/print-background-colors-and-pictures-HP001095710.aspx , but it only applies for InfoPath Client Form, not browser-based Form!

Any help are appreciated!

Not able to publish an infopath 2010 Web browser form mode, Invalid form template, .xsf file not ref

Hi, i am migrating a infopath 2007 form from a sharepoint 2007 site to infopath 2010 form for a sharepoint 2010 site. I used the design checker to verify the form template ,I got a invalid form template error. So I went to the Resource files tab under the developer section. I edited the context.xml to my current site. After this, the design checker gave no errors.

But when i tried to preview this form, I got an erro saying

"The form template contains files that are not referenced in the form definition (.xsf) file or are referenced more than once."

Can anybody tell me where I went wrong?

Formatting problem with Email from an Browser Enabled InfoPath 2010 Form in SharePoint 2010

I'm creating a form in InfoPath 2010 to be filled out in the browser within our SharePoint 2010 instance. It's pretty simple, four columns with total table width of about 650 pixels, textboxes, checkboxes, datepicker and one multiselect list box. The form is working fine up to the point where I invoke a data connection which emails the form to myself. When it arrives in my inbox, the format of the form included in the body of the email is funky. When I open the email and set it to a full screen viewing window (1440X900) the area that takes up the form exceeds the width of my viewing window and requires scroll bars to see all the fields on the form.

When printing the form from my email the area is so large that no data will show up in the printable area (it appears to be centered on the form and it is cutting off the "extra content" to the left and right which contains the form data as the user entered it). I'm using Outlook 2007. I also forwarded the email to a person who's using Outlook 2010 and they experienced the same problems as myself.

Things I've tried to fix it: Setting each column width, setting each control width to a pixel length (instead of using %). I added some code behind to switch the view to a two column view with a table width of 400px before it sends out the email. It's closer to being at a state where it's

ItemAdded Event not always returning SharePoint field information when InfoPath form submitted

 (SharePoint 2007)

I am struggling with an issue related to InfoPath and use of the ItemAdded event handler.  I have created an InfoPath form that contains several fields that are being published to SharePoint fields in a Forms Library.  When I submit a new form, the SharePoint data is being correctly updated.  ian see it in the list.  However, I am trying to write an ItemAdded event handler that performs specific logic based on the value of one of the InfoPath/SharePoint fields for the form being added to the library.  The logic appears to work correctly the first time through.  I can sucessfully read the value from the field and then execute my logic.  However, subsequent submissions appear to not be able to read the values.  It is like they don't exist or are null.  I am thinking that it has something to do with threading but I cannot find a work around for this problem.  The interesting thing is that the same exact logic works correctly when the ItemAdded event handler is tied to a standard Document Library.  Any word documents that are being added always read the values correctly.

Does anybody know what might be causing this or a possible way around this issue?

Newly promoted column in infopath not displaying value in sharepoint 2007 form library

Hi All,

I have a form library, which is allready having nearly 200 forms. Now i need to promote some more infopath 2007 form fields to sharepoint 2007 list column. But after promoting and re-publishing the infopath template, newly promoted columns does not show any value. Please suggest me how to fix this problem?

Work around :- If i just open a form and save it back, newly promoted field(Sharepoint library column) is displaying correct value. But this would be a tedious task if it has to be done for nearly 200 forms.
