infopath document url opens in browser instead of client

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

we have a infopath solution using content types in moss 2007.

I have a workflow (designed in sharepoint designer) that emails the tasks to the user with the embedded link to the infopath file,

http://<siteur/>/<libraryname>/filename.xml

clients all have infopath 2007 installed, when they get the email and clicl on the link - the file attempts to open in the browser ( opposite of default behaviour)

since the form is not browser enabled  the user gets a message saying the form has closed.

this used to work just peachy, but something and i'm not sure what has changed, I did redeploy the infopath template as a content type ( same as the last 30 releases) except i used infopath 2010 to edit the template - could that have messed anything up?

any help would be much appreciated,

(Clayton, hope this is the correct forum now, thanaks for your help earlier)

Infopath form - browser error client error

I am facing a problem with browser enabled infopath form. I have developed this in infopath 2007. I have few fields in a repeating table. It contains Number of units, qty , subtotal and total. Total is sum of all sub totals and Sub total is  multiplication of units and qty. I am able to insert new items in preview and getting subtotal and total. I have published it in sharepiont as browser enabled form as a content type. When I opened the form in browser and insert new item in repeating table then I am not getting my subtotal and total updated. I am getting those for only first row. other rows are not working. This is working with infopath client.  Please help me out..

thanks

Attachment upload error on browser based InfoPath form

Hello,

I am having an interesting problem with browser based InfoPath forms in SharePoint 2007.  For some reason the file attachment control is not working any more.  It was working fine in July, but now it will not allow file attachments over a few kb.  I tried a 34KB file and I get the error below, a 2KB file works fine.

Issue in Infopath 2007 browser form - cascading dropdown using owssvr.dll filter view

Referring the below link, I created a cascading dropdown. The parent dropdown has sharepoint list as datasource and the child dropdown has xml datasource that points to owssvr.dll filter view. The cascading drop down works fine in preview but throws error after publishing as admin approved form - "form cannot run the specified query" exception when trying to execute xml datasource i.e., when a value is selected in parent dropdown. The security is 'Full Trust". In the event viewer the error message states "401 unauthorised" for the user a/c. the xml data source is an approved udcx file and in central admin, have enabled cross domain for infopath service. I have tried different solution provided in tech forums but issue still exists. Not sure whether Im missing something. Can someone guide me in fixing this issue?

Deploying InfoPath 2007 form to WSS 3.0 as browser enabled

Please Help! I've created an Infopath form and wanted to deploy the form as browser enabled to WSS 3.0? What are the different options I can do this? If i cannot use a form then i would like to  create a custom list with all the form fields but the user should be able to enter information in the list and he should see only the information related to him. I don't want to give access of the whole list to each and every user. Only the administrator should be able to see the whole list. The form was actually a user access request form.

Any help and suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks

Document Information Panel problem with Infopath

Hi, I have created a custom document content type that uses a specified word template deployed by a feature for a sharepoint site collection. The Content Type is defined in site collection level i have add a column also defined as a site column called "Abstract", and I added this column to my content type. Now I want to create a custom DIP using Infopath, when infopath is launched it maps all column from this content type. The problem that the "Abstract" column wich is defined as rich text and optional column is not mapped correctly Infopath show that field as a required field and can not be blank. When i added this content type to a document library and try to create a new document i have an error "Document Information Panel cannot create.. problem on the schema with Abstract field". When i try to modify the xsn file at the document library level and republish the form it works but when i do it in the site collection level it's impossible to map the field properly. Any suggestions about what might be causing this problem or how to fix it would be greatly appreciated. ABT

Infopath 2007 not printing footer in browser print view

I have added a footer to the print view of a browser enabled form and it is not printing when printing the form. The footer is relatively sinmple, however when I click on print view on the browser form and use print preview, I cannot see the footer at all. I have set bottom margins to auto, however I am using an image in my header and therefore have a section at the top of each page where my page top margin is set to 0 and the margins lie within the bounds of the section at .25". The footer that is not displaying in print preview in the form is as follows;"Quote Number: &{/my:myFields/my:sqnumber&} &b&pof&P&b &b &{/my:myFields/my:group28/my:sqdate&}Revision: &{xdFormatting:FormatString("/my:myFields/my:sqquoterevision","number","numDigits:0;negativeOrder:1;")&} &b Prepared For: &{/my:myFields/my:sqclientname&}"The page setup in IE listed page number and url info when using print preview and I have set them to none because my footer is in the form. Please help, this is frustrating!

Infopath 2010 Browser Based Form Vs Infopath 2010 Filler Based Form Issue

I have created a detailed infopath form that is connecting to multiple sharepoint lists, some of which contain thousands of rows and dozens of columns.  To tailor for the data load i have enabled the form to only pull in data as needed and on some of the lists i have created 5 or 6 data connections to the same list, each only looking at a certain set of data, and as you make your way through the form selecting your options, the data is pulled in. If i preview this form from within Infopath or if i launch it using Infopath filler this works great, the data is pulled through in under a second.  However if i then publish the form to the browser and launch it through the browser, it now takes roughly 30 seconds to pull in the data. My question is therefore this,  Is there something i can do to speed up the way the data is pulled in when launched through the browser?  are there transport protocols i can alter or something like that? maybe config in central admin or infopath config? any help would be gratefully appreciated as if i can not get the form to pull the data in fast through the browser then the whole project is a waste of time as my management team will never go for the solution if it is slow and will get slower as more data is added. thanks

How to use InfoPath without the client and without SharePoint

I have a question on this same issue. I am task with designing an InfoPath form in a non-SharePoint/webserver/service environment. The form should be used for 3 end users. End user 1 will recieve the form, fill it out send it to end user 2 and then to end users 3 for review and approval. ONLY end users 2 and 3 may have infopath on their PC. How is this possible? Also, when I send the actual form ( non-published or published) to end user 1 an error message says infopath can't open the form. I would really like some help. I read that I need to remove the script/code from the programming language, which i did. Any help will do the trick. PMA
