Reading formlibrary using ClientObject Model in Infopath

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

Hi I have two questions,

1. I need to read the formlibrary as an XML using client object model in Infopath,I know its stored as an XML .

how can I perform Crud operations on it using Client Object Model?

2. I need to know how to prevent duplicacy of data if We store the data both in Sharepoint FormLibrary and List.

I am building a browser Enabled form ,using Infopath and storing this form in formlibrary.

I do not want to store data in List rather want to read data from Sharepoint Form Library using ClientObject Model.

I am a beginner so I may be wrong in my approach,please correct if t hats the case.

Reading Infopath Repeating Table data in .Net Workflow

Hello, i have an infopath for that has a repeating table on it that i am using for users to add comments. The table contains a couple of textboxes, one that automatically inserts the users name into it and the other for the user to enter their own comments. I want to be able to read the contents of the repeating table when a manual workflow is started against the form list in sharepoint so that i can email all the users who have left comments on the form.

I am struggling to find any info on reading repeating table data from an infopath form in a .net workflow. I have tried using an XPathNavigator to select the repeating table but it only displays the first comment in the table.

Can anyone provide any info on accomploshing this or point me to any articles that explain how to do this?

thanks a lot

Retreive FormLibrary Sharepoint FormName in Infopath

Hi Everyone,

               It would be great if anyone of you answer my question.My special thanks to Clayton for keeping this blog up and interactive always.My question is i am publishing an info path form to a share point Form library.my Form name will be a combination of empid and another 2 more fields.My requirement is while submitting the Form for the second time,it needs to check from the library whether the form name already exist and if there,it needs to give an alert to user saying that "Form already exist.Do u want to override it"If the user clicks yes it needs to over-ride it ,else it should remains the same.

        i started my project in vbscript.So it would be really helpfull if anyone of you let us know how to retreive all Formnames which is already existing using infopath vbscript and needs to compare that with the current Form id.I have read Clayton blog to automatically increment Formid while submitting to sharepoint,but in my case i am using concat(empnumber and 2 more fields).Your reply and help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Model View Controller (MVC) for ASP.NET

Model View Controller (MVC) architectures, immediately wonder how the MVC pattern can be applied in an ASP.NET world. This article will demonstrate how the MVC pattern can be applied to an ASP.NET web application and still maintain the basic Microsoft supplied architecture.

Dynamic Systems Development Model (DSDM) Methodology

The Dynamic Systems Development Model was developed in the U.K. in the mid-1990s. It is the evolution of rapid application development (RAD) practices. DSDM boasts the best-supported training and documentation of any of the agile software development techniques, at least in Europe. DSDM favors the philosophy that nothing is built perfectly the first time and looks to software development as an exploratory endeavor.

Overview of SharePoint Object Model

SharePoint offers a set of structured server-side objects those are widely used to program SharePoint Applications. These objects are hierarchically arranged and you can drill down through the object hierarchy to obtain the object that contains the components of SharePoint Application you need to use in your code.

Reading and Writing Images From a Windows Mobile Database using UltraLite 10(C#)

Periodically I get a request for information on how to read and write binary data to a database running on Windows Mobile. If you search the Internet you can typically find examples that are available on Windows Desktops or allow you to read and write to a local file system. The problem is that it can take a bit of work to get this code to work on Windows Mobile accessing a database.

Ultimately you might be asking, why would I want to store and image in a database? Well in an environment where you synchronizing data between a local mobile database and a consolidated (central) database this can be extremely useful. Imagine if an insurance adjuster went to an accident scene, took a picture of a damaged car, loaded it into his Windows Mobile database and then replicated that image up to the Insurance headquarters for approval. All of this could be done in a very short period of time when using images in the database. Another good example might be a doctor who was waiting for a patient chart to become available. If you could store the image in a database this chart could be sent down to the doctor's device once it became available.

For this article I am not going to get into how to synchronize the images to and from a remote and central database as this is typically fairly straightforward when using a data synchronization technologies like MobiLink

XML Reading and Writing

We learned to process XML files using the Document Object Model as implemented by the XmlDocument class. To go further and make XML friendlier, the .NET Framework provides many other classes for different purposes, allowing you to create and manage nodes from custom .NET classes.
Besides the XmlDocument and the derived classes of XmlNode, the .NET Framework provides the XmlTextWriter class, which is derived from XmlWriter. The XmlTextWriter class works in a top-down approach to create, or deal with, the contents of an XML file. This class writes an XML node and moves down without referring

reading values from config files in NUnit tests

One of my NUnit tests has to read in some values from config files.  In my main application this process works perfectly well, however when I run the unit test, the code that reads in the values from the config files doesnt read anything in.  Ive tried putting app.config in my unit test project (I even tried web.config) but nothing seems to work.  Are there any special steps involved when reading from config files in an nunit test ?

Maximum memory for string ? . System.MemoryOutOfException Occurs when reading the Content of the fil

I have a C++ code which reads a file [vtk file - its similar to text file only]. and try to store it in string.

here's the code:

String^ ParallelProjectionRenderer::GetVolumeDataAsString(String^ FileName)

    vtkSmartPointer<vtkDataSetWriter> sWriter = vtkSmartPointer<vtkDataSetWriter>::New();

    String^ FileName = "D:\\Users\\...";

    char * sptName = static_cast<char *>(Marshal::StringToHGlobalAnsi(FileName).ToPointer());

    String^ result= File::ReadAllText(FileName);   [it breaks here with system.memoryoutofexception when the file size is huge]

    return result;

this code executes fine when the file size is less than 8mb.

I wanted to know whats the maximum memory allocated to the string.

As a workaround i skipped reading out in C++ code. and i tried to read the file contents in asp.net C# code and stor
