Workflow triggered to run on a specific day-of-week

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :C#

Hi Everyone:

I am using SPD not Visual Studio...

I need to create a SharePoint workflow that runs every Sunday on a list and sends a reminder email to users of inclomplete tasks. I read the information in the following link and it explains how to get workflows to trigger on a date based on number of days past item creation.  So any ideas on how I use this to set the due date to trigger every Sunday until item is completed?

Setting permissions of a specific SharePoint workflow

We have a very simple workflow whereby an document placed in a public library (INBOX) is moved it to a private library (VERIFY) and then deleted. The workflow works correctly when someone who has access to the VERIFY library drops a record into the INBOX library.  However it does not work when the user does not have access to the VERIFY library.

I was told that I need to "set the AD group associated with a specific SharePoint workflow" but cannot find any reference to this in SPD.

I need a workflow triggered by a workflow...how do I design this? Beginner question

I've added the Approval workflow to a forms library and it generates the necessary tasks and emails for 2 levels (serial) of Approval on the form. When the form has been approved the 2nd time, I want it to trigger another workflow that notifies a 3rd person of the existence of the form and assigns her a separate non-approval task. I'm creating it in SharePoint Designer, and I can do most of it, but I'm not sure what field I'm looking for, at the beginning in order to start the workflow. Currently, there is no column for Approval Status in the form library, only a column that shows the status of the workflow (In Progress or Approved).  I tried If Workflow Status equals Approved then email.... but that didn't work. Any help is greatly appreciated.  I'm looking for the data source field and the list item field and value, I guess.

Workflow designed for infopath 2007 fails when triggered by infopath 2010

I have a workflow that changes the permissions on an infopath form that is saved to a library. When the form is saved to the library with infopath 2010 the workflow fails with the following error:  DP.Sharepoint.Workflow.DPWorkflowException: Error loading form data file. Likely causes: this file is not a valid InfoPath Form! ---> System.Xml.XmlException: Root element is missing. at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl.Throw(Exception e) at System.Xm I have tried to uninstall infopath 2010 and office 2010 then install infopath 2007 and the workflow still fails. Can someone help me either figure out what I need to change on the workflow for it to function with infopath 2010 or what the uninstaller is missing when removing the office 2010.

workflow triggered during upload but after the user enters values in the properties dialog

1) When "Start this workflow when a new item is created" option is selected the workflow gets triggered as soon as the file is uploaded and even before the 'edit properties' dialog is displayed.  I want the workflow to be triggered after the properties are entered by the user on upload.

2) Selecting "Start this workflow when an item is changed." option also does not trigger the workflow during upload.  This triggers only when the user explicitly selects 'Edit Properties' dialog.

So my question is, how to get the workflow triggered during upload but after the user enters values in the prop

How to create a workflow that submit an infopath form to a library of a specific user

can someone help me with this?

i'm using wss 3.0 and infopath 2007.

i have a form that need to be approved by a specific approver.

first when the user submit the form it send an email to the specific approver and the form is also submitted to a library.

so the approver gets an email and the approver need to get the form submitted to his library.

the email part is working fine. now i miss the library part.

i think i need to use a workflow. but how can i create a workflow that assinged a to-do item to a specific approver instead of a group.

in my library i have the following fields:

form name, created by and aprrover's name.

now i need the workflow to look up for the name of the approver and send an "assigned a to-do item" to the specific approver of the form

can someone help me with this?

Restricting the Workflow to get executed in specific Front End Server of a farm

We are using a third party Licensed Workflow Software which runs on top of SharePoint. It is a declarative Workflow model hence uses SharePoint to execute the Workflows. In the Production Environment, we have a Server FARM with 4 Front End Servers. We have got Production License for only two Front End Servers. Is there any way to restrict the SharePoint Workflow to get executed only in the 2 Servers which has got the license.

Currently we are getting error when workflow tries to get executed in a Server which does not have the License.

Free Series of SharePoint Workflow How-to Videos

This is the series of "How to" Document Workflow with SharePoint using Visual Studio 2008 (using the .NET Framework 3.0 for backward compatibility to Visual Studio 2005). I have created video's that show the most common requests that I have seen around MOSS/SharePoint 2007 workflow & document workflow.

Button specific code

I have 2 submit buttons on my page. Right now, the only way to run the code behind with razor is to to If(IsPost). Since I have 2 buttons, how would I destinguish between the two in post? Is there a way to request a button that sent a post request?

Create web site specific to mobile device, how to detect?

I have a website that is written in .Net 2.0 which uses all the nice rich functionality of the web (Ajax, javascript etc..).  However I have noticed that the site does not display very well on mobile devices.

So therefore I would like to create a more streamlined version of my site that is better tailored to these devices.  However how do detect that the user has come to the site via a mobile device and how can i redirect them to my tailored page

Many thanks in advance

Workflow Services: Visual Design of Workflows with WCF and WF 4

The .NET Framework 4 makes it easier than ever to implement WCF services using WF. We'll demonstrate just how easy it is by modeling a long-running, durable and instrumented workflow based on a real-world business case without having to write any code.

Foundations: Workflow Services for Local Communication

This month's column describes how to use WCF for communication between a workflow and a host application in Windows Workflow Foundation 3. This knowledge should help developers with their efforts using WF3 and prepare them for WF4, where WCF is the only abstraction over queues (referred to as "bookmarks" in WF4) that ships with the framework.

Foundations: Windows Workflow Design Patterns

Design patterns provide a common, repeatable approach to solving software development tasks, and many different patterns can describe how to accomplish a certain goal in code. When developers begin working with Windows Workflow Foundation (WF), they often ask about how to accomplish common tasks with the technology. This month's column discusses several design patterns used in WF.
