I created a browser enabled form with InfoPath 2010. I then published the form by selecting the option "Publish form to a SharePoint library" and then selected "Form library" and finally selected "Create a new form library".
As a result, a new form library was created.When I click on "add document", the browser opens a new form, which I can fill and save successfully. However, after the form is saved, whenever I click on the form name in the form library to edit it,
the browser "opens with" dialog box opens, asking for an XML editor software. In other words, the form does not open in browser for editing even on systems that do not have InfoPath installed.
The form is browser compatible and the form library is configured to open browser-enabled forms in browser. The issue is that the form hyperlink is directly pointing to form XML file rather than pointing to InfoPath form services URL.
I would really appreciate, if someone tells me how I can edit the form in browser.
Could someone please confirm if this is a bug.
I created an InfoPath form in 2010. As an Infopath form, the multiline textbox grows, as a user enters text, automatically as expected.
The very same form as a web form:
In IE 7 and IE 8 the box expands at every 20 or so chharacters instead of at the end of a line.
In Firefox (3.xxx) the box does not expand unless you press enter at the end of every line.
In IE 7 and IE 8 if you open a form that was created with FireFox, the boxes end up expanding as if it had been entered in IE instead of FireFox. FireFox seems to be the most compatable but how do I explain to user that they can use IE for everything
The question is this: Is it a bug because I would think the box should be dynamic as the user eneters data and should not require the user to press enter. When will this be fixed. It is holding us up as to ever being able to use InfoPath Web based forms
which is a requirement because InfoPath based forms are not supported on any OS other than Windows. Web Based forms should operate and be available regardless of the browser type. Please advise.
I'm planning to use infopath forms and I need some guidelines on how to use Forms in Sharepoint Server 2010.
I need answers in questions like:
Should I use one form library for one type of form, or a form library per Department, having all forms inside?
How do you implement logging?
What is the use of a tasks library in workflows of a forms library?
The workflow deploys successfully, goes to first state as expected. When I click to change the task [using InfoPath task form], instead of showing the InfoPath form I see
SharePoint 2010 edit form for the task list
Here are my files:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
<Feature xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/ "
ReceiverAssembly="Microsoft.Office.Workflow.Feature, Version=188.8.131.52, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" ReceiverClass="Microsoft.Office.Workflow.Feature.WorkflowFeatureReceiver">
<Property Key="GloballyAvailable" Value="true" />
<Property Key="RegisterForms" Value="*Forms\*.xsn" />
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

I am looking to create a document library with multiple InfoPath forms that are fillable using the web interface. I don't need the forms to be saved and would just like them to have the submit button which will then fire workflows and send emails,
I have used the Form Library, and I enabled multiple content types and saved each form as a new content type then granted users only view permissions it and it sort of work how I want but they have to use the New Document ribbon. I would like
the to just have a list of Forms in a Doc Library that when the click on them they open in the web and only allow the user to click submit.
How do I go about this or do I have to go the Forms Library way with multiple contenet types?
Hi Sharepoint Experrts,
I'm trying to develop InfoPath 2010 forms that use External Lists that have been created in Sharepoint Server 2010. I have problems when testing the forms because access is denied to the external lists.
When I try deploying the forms to the sharepoint site, I cannot upload the form template because it says I have to be a member of the local administrators group. However, I'm running the administrator account used to install and setup sharepoint on
the Windows 7 development machine I'm using.
I also tried loading the InfoPath Data Connections to a data connection library on my Sharepoint site... I can see the files when I login to the site but when I try creating a New form from a Data Connection File, I get an error message "This location does
not contain any data connection files with the appropriate settings". What ARE the appropriate settings?
I'm just really confused about this because I cannot seem to be able to build forms that use data connection files loaded onto a Sharepoint site or central server....
I appreciate any help I can get!
