Building InfoPath forms against Sharepoint 2010 Data Connection Library and Form Services...

Hi Sharepoint Experrts,

I'm trying to develop InfoPath 2010 forms that use External Lists that have been created in Sharepoint Server 2010.  I have problems when testing the forms because access is denied to the external lists.

When I try deploying the forms to the sharepoint site, I cannot upload the form template because it says I have to be a member of the local administrators group.  However, I'm running the administrator account used to install and setup sharepoint on the Windows 7 development machine I'm using.

I also tried loading the InfoPath Data Connections to a data connection library on my Sharepoint site... I can see the files when I login to the site but when I try creating a New form from a Data Connection File, I get an error message "This location does not contain any data connection files with the appropriate settings".  What ARE the appropriate settings?

I'm just really confused about this because I cannot seem to be able to build forms that use data connection files loaded onto a Sharepoint site or central server....

I appreciate any help I can get!

Thanks,

KBW

Thanks, KBW

Integrating External Data and Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Platform Services in Microsoft Office 2010 S

Microsoft Office 2010 integrates with SharePoint more closely than in previous versions. The resources here show you how to take advantage of the powerful collaboration infrastructure.

Changing fields while updating an InfoPath Form to a SharePoint 2010 Document library

My document library has following EventReceiver: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/"> <Receivers ListTemplateId="101"> <Receiver> <Name>EventReceiverDocumentLibraryItemUpdating</Name> <Type>ItemUpdating</Type> <Assembly>$SharePoint.Project.AssemblyFullName$</Assembly> <Class>EventHandling.EventReceiverDocumentLibrary</Class> <SequenceNumber>10000</SequenceNumber> </Receiver> </Receivers> </Elements> Updating a browser enabled InfoPath form in the document library fires following event: Public Overrides Sub ItemUpdated(ByVal properties As SPItemEventProperties) Try Me.EventFiringEnabled = False properties.ListItem("Lastname") = "Testperson" properties.ListItem.ParentList.ParentWeb.AllowUnsafeUpdates = True properties.ListItem.SystemUpdate(False) ' solution 1 properties.ListItem.Update() ' solution 2 properties.ListItem.UpdateOverwriteVersion() ' solution 3 properties.ListItem.ParentList.ParentWeb.AllowUnsafeUpdates = False Me.EventFiringEnabled = True MyBase.ItemUpdated(properties) Catch ex As Exception Me.EventFiringEnabled = True E

InfoPath Forms library in visual studio 2010

If I create a list definition of document library type, and add some new fields to the list.  Is there any way to only allow infopath forms to be submitted to the list?  And also can I change the "add new item" link on the default list to point to my infopath form?

Infopath Form Data submitting to Sharepoint 2010 List

Making a Client intake form that once submitted will send data to  a sharepoint 2010 List called contacts. Short Summary the form will have repeating fields and alot of information to submit. I have looked and read all over but I cannot find an easy step by step guild on how to submit the form data like that. Long Summary on the sharepoint site a button will open a form for adding a new client.  once the form has been filled out and the user hits submit sharepoint will then create a User File, in clients file, and take the data and put it into contacts list. I am trying to make use of Sharepoint as I would with access, meaning the more information I have on a client the easier it will be to mail merge letters, motions, basicly any file prepaired stuff. So once I have css designed forsharepoint to make it look the way I want then the forms should intergrate perfect

Infopath bug in windows 7 to convert datasource to data connection library in sharepoint?

Any ideas about this bug: Windows 7, infopath 2007, did not check in the data connection file when converting a data source? Also it did not set title and kept the file checked out so that you can not even update the items by SharePoint UI. I did everything successfully with Infopath 2007 on a windows xp machine. Is the OS related in this case? Thanks,

Sharepoint 2010: Browser compatible infopath forms are not open in web browser for editing

I created a browser enabled form with InfoPath 2010. I then published the form by selecting the option "Publish form to a SharePoint library" and then selected "Form library" and finally selected "Create a new form library". As a result, a new form library was created.When I click on "add document", the browser opens a new form, which I can fill and save successfully. However, after the form is saved, whenever I click on the form name in the form library to edit it, the browser "opens with" dialog box opens, asking for an XML editor software. In other words, the form does not open in browser for editing even on systems that do not have InfoPath installed.

The form is browser compatible and the form library is configured to open browser-enabled forms in browser. The issue is that the form hyperlink is directly pointing to form XML file rather than pointing to InfoPath form services URL.

I would really appreciate, if someone tells me how I can edit the form in browser.

SharePoint 2010 External Content Type and InfoPath 2010 - Numeric data type fields missing in InfoPa

Connected SQL data table to SP 2010 ECT from SQL table.  The SQL table has several fields that have a type of "numeric(3,0)".  The SP 2010 list shows all fields form SQL.  When we open up InfoPath Designer and reference the SP List data (from SQL) all of our numer fields are missing from the available fields list.

I amd going to try another data type but that hardly feels like a solution.  If anyone has any ideas please let me know!

Submitting data from Infopath 2010 to a Sharepoint 2010 list fail

Hello everybody,

I'm trying to submit data from an Infopath 2010 form to a Sharepoint list using the following tutorial: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc162745(office.12).aspx

However this doesn't work. The form creates new entries but when you whant to change or delete an entry, I get the following error: Object reference not set to an instance to an object. Any idea what is wrong with the code?

using Microsoft.Office.InfoPath;
using System;
using System.Windows.Forms;
using System.Xml;
using System.Xml.XPath;
using mshtml;

namespace Sharepointupdate
{
  public partial class FormCode
  {
    // Membervariablen werden in browserfähigen Formularen nicht unterstützt.
    // Schreiben und lesen Sie diese Werte stattdessen aus dem FormState-
    // Wörterbuch, indem Sie Code wie folgt verwenden:
    //
    // private object _memberVariable
    // {
    //   get
    //   {
    //     return FormState["_memberVariable"];
    //   }
    //   set
    //   {
    //     FormState["_memberVariable"] = value;
    //   }
    // }

    // HINWEIS: Das folgende Verfahren ist für Microsoft InfoPath erforderlich.
    // Es kann

InfoPath SP 2010 multiple web forms in the same library.

I am looking to create a document library with multiple InfoPath forms that are fillable using the web interface.  I don't need the forms to be saved and would just like them to have the submit button which will then fire workflows and send emails, etc...

I have used the Form Library, and I enabled multiple content types and saved each form as a new content type then granted users only view permissions it and it sort of work how I want but they have to use the New Document ribbon.  I would like the to just have a list of Forms in a Doc Library that when the click on them they open in the web and only allow the user to click submit.

How do I go about this or do I have to go the Forms Library way with multiple contenet types?
