Excel Web Part - different Powerpivot Slicer disabled tue to sharepoint users

Hello, first of all i'm new to sharepoint. I found quite similar question to mine http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepoint2010general/thread/9f23a77c-1527-48a8-abbc-2ccded736d9e but unfortunately it hasn't been answered. So what i have done so far: I made a Excel 2010 Powerpivot chart and Published it to sharepoint via the Powerpivot gallery. I also created a Excel web part with the spreadsheed in it. I am searching for a vba script to achieve the sharepoint username but found only some for the windows username. I also managed to disable slicers in vba. What i want to achieve: Due to the fact that the Powerpivot chart has some critical security data in it the different users should only see two different filter options (whole data and one slice for themself) So i need to disable slicers in the pivot chart tue to the sharepoint accounts. My Qestion: Is it possible? If yes, how! Any help would be appreciated. Is it possible via VBA or do i have to use Excel web scervices?  Thanks for your help :)

Error Message PowerPivot Excel on SharePoint : "Excel was unable to get necessary information about


Hello everybody:

I get the error message “Excel was unable to get necessary information about this cube. The cube might have been reorganized or changed on the server” when I open the excel on the sharePoint site and the PowerPivot Datasource is already refreshed successfully on schedule.

I describe my steps more clearly.

  • Step1. Create Excel pivot tables and charts by using PowerPivot datasource which connects to SQL Server.
  • Step2. Publish Excel to SharePoint site. The Analysis Server will build a PowerPivot cube in "VertiPaq" StorageEngineMode automatically and the cube name including an "uniqueindentifier" in the end.
  • Step3. Schedule PowerPivot refresh plan on SharePoint and the successful result comes out soon. After PowerPivot refreshed the "uniqueindentifier" will be changed to another one automatically.
  • Step4. When I open excel on the SharePoint I will get the error message again. If I click the "ok" then Excel will really Refresh.

Now I have tried two ways:

  1. Locale setting: Doesn't work. It seems not to be the cause of my problem because it won't happen if my excel's datasource is connecting to DB or Cube directly.

In sharepoint excel working fine in office 2007 but not in office 2010


Hi All,

we receive error  while trying to create excel sheet using the template we have uploaded on the SharePoint 2007.


This occurs on a machine that has Office 2010 installed. Earlier the machine had Office 2007 and everything was working fine.


Can you let me know why is problem is coming and how to resolve this.

Sharepoint 2007 and Excel 2010 features


Does Sharepoint 2007 Server support the new Excel 2010 feaures like slicers? Or do i have to have Sharepoint 2010 to get that working (considering all other components besides Sharepoint 2010 are available in my Sharepoint 2007 environment) ?

Excel file published on Sharepoint


I want to use ExcelServices of MOSS to publish few XLS files.
The problem is if i want to open up the excel file it will not open in the web browser as I expected, altough i already click "Display as web page".
My MOSS instance is on a server without MS Excel installed on it.
The excel file was created using Excel 2003.
Any idea how to fix it?
