But In server (windows server 2008, 64 bit) when i checked the reg editor, "Inproserver32" directory is missing for this component. How will install the com compoent without missing "inproserver32"? Or else is there any option to export the missed entry from my local system and then import into the server registry ? is this make any problem in server?

Missing POP3 component

I've been using the SmtpClient component from within System.Net.Mail namespace, and just expected that there would also be a POP3 component.  But no!

This seems like quite a blatant ommission.  Are there any plans to include a POP3 component within this namespace?

Invalid or missing username or password. - Installing SQL 2008 on Server 2008

I'm new to SQL 2008 and while installing I receive the following error during as I'm installing.

Invalid or missing username or password. To continue, provide valid credentials for the SQL Server Agent service.

I attened the SQL/Server/VS 2008 launch in LA and was given time bomb copies of SQL/Server 2008.

On a new machine I installed Server 2008.  (It't a stand alone machine, no AD.)

After Server 2008 installation was completed I tried to install SQL 2008.

I'm hung on the install on the user name/password page.

I'm assuming the account I specify does not have to be created, SQL will do it, or is that my problem?

Can you offer any assistance?

Installing and Uninstalling Services

Installing and Uninstalling Services.Unlike most projects you create in Visual Studio .NET, Windows Service projects cannot be run directly from the development environment by pressing F5. This is because the service in the project must be installed before the project can run.

You can quickly install your service application by using a command line utility called InstallUtil.exe.

Installing and configuring SharePoint 2010

The following steps show how to install SharePoint 2010 on VMware workstation 7.0. Host computer used during the preparation of this walk-through was a Vista (32-bit) machine and guest machine used was VMware workstation 7.0 with Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 (64-bit).

Content Query Web Part missing in SharePoint 2010

If you don't see content query web part listed in the web parts list, this is because you have not enabled "Search Server Web Parts" feature in site collection features. Enable this feature and content query web part will show in the list of web parts.

Missing 'new item templates'

 Hi all,

I am a 'newbie' to VWD and I am slowly working through the Basic Walkthrough Help files, and learning plenty along the way.

However, when I tried to create a new database in the LINQ control walkthrough I found that the option to create a new database is missing, and further investigation has found that many other new item templates are missing.

I am using a brand new machine with Windows 7 Ultimate and have enabled IIS and .NET from Control Panel-Programs-Turn Windows Features On-Off. I used the WPI to install all basic elements eg. IIS Components, SQL Server Express.

The only 'new item templates' I have when I right-click the App_Data Folder and choose 'new item' are:-

ADO.NET Data Service

AJAX Enabled WCF Service

Dynamic Data Field

SQL Server Database

Text File

XML File

Does anyone know where I have gone wrong.

User or role "id_token" does not exit in this database.

Error code 2869.

Installing both VS Pro 2008 and VWD2008

I work at an educational institution and in our computing labs we have Visual Studio Professional 2008 installed already. One of our academics has requested me to install Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Edition as they think it's easier for their beginner students to learn, but I've noticed it wants to install it in the same folder as our Visual Studio Professional install.

Can both be installed without the limited VWD interfering with the Professional version?

Error Registering COM+ Component

Hi All,

I am experimenting with using EnterpriseServices. I created a component, created the SNK file, compiled the DLL. In the assemblyinfo.vb file, I added '<Assembly: AssemblyKeyFile("c:\key.snk")> '.
I created a new package in COM+, When I attempt to add the .dll to the package i get:

An error occured while processeing the last operation.
Error Code 80020009 - Exception ocurred.
