I am in the process of mapping out our new sharepoint farm. In order to structure this properly I would like to be able to post an entry either as a blog or an annoucment to more than one site at the same time. An example would be a company announcement
on an internal staff site as well as a team site with our consultants. Is this at all possible in any way? Or would these need to be posted in each place individually.
This was one of the typical queries asked by my client which has to be answered to kick start the project based on the budget.
What is the possibility of WSS accepting 2 IP’s mapped for 2 web sites in a single share point server instance.
I don't have good share point administration knowledge to answer the question.

I want to deploy multiple webparts through a single wsp file. CAn some one help me int his regard,
I have one main SharePoint site which has 5 child sites. Each child site represents a different department. On each of these sites there is a list called "ActionPlans". These lists all have the same name and the same number of columns. I need to somehow
combine the 5 "ActionPlans" from the child sites into one on the main page.
I was able to loop through the SharePoint object and pull out one list, populate a datatable and display it in the SPGridview. I am having problems looping through the other sites and combining all lists.
Please help, Ninel
Say I have three sites: http://my-server/active-development, http://my-server/beta-release and http://my-server/official-release that essentially 3 different version of the same code base and I need them to function independently w.r.t. to session state. As in, when I log into one site (say http://my-server/active-development), the session ID cookie generated for that site should not be present when I open another browser window (of same type: say IE) to another site (say http://my-server/official-release). Unfortunately, that won't happen. Its because when the ASP.NET SessionIDManager generates the ASP.NET_SessionID cookie, it always specifies Path = "/".
private static HttpCookie System.Web.SessionState.SessionIDManager.CreateSessionCookie(
I have searched and searched but have not found a solution anywhere. My problem is that we have a number of document libraries that require check out for editing and have mandatory fields. When users upload multiple documents the documents are kept checked
out until a value is assigned to the field and the document is checked in. The issue is, that users may not complete the process and subsequently no other users can see the document.
We tried indexing the 'Checked out to' field and allowing for users to search based on this. However, this does not display documents with no checked in version and as such does not help...
Is there some way that we can make the search indexer crawl these documents or have a web part that lists documents checked out to the logged in user? We are using SharePoint Foundation 2010 which may make this more difficult.

I'm hoping someone can provide some insight into a problem I'm having.
I have been tasked with trying to find a way to create multiple sites within the same site collection with a standard Task list in each site. Now, I'd like to combine each of those task lists into one single task list viewable by the managers.
I know I can create a dataview, however I haven't been able to get that view into Outlook using the "Connect to Outlook" option in the Actions Menu of a task list.
Is there a way this can be done?
Any help is appreciated.
