3 Tier architecture in ASP.NET

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi. I was tasked to create 3 tier web application. However, i browsed through many books & tutorials. The examples are doing it using Object data source which my lecturers claimed that it is not 3 tier at all. Shouldn't be dragging any data source into deisgn view. Any  comprehensive examples for me to take reference from?

Seems that 3 tier architecture examples are very few.

Thanks.

Three Tier Architecture with ASP.NET

ASP.NET supports layered architecture, and this article will illustrate how it can work with the ASP.NET presentation controls. This article focuses mainly on the GridView control, mostly because it is prevalently used in .NET development. However, the concepts work for other controls as well.

Three Tier Architecture with ASP.NET

In my previous two articles, we talked about the use of layers, and the many different options that can be used to develop layered architecture. Layered architectures are essentially objects and work in object-oriented environments, such as ASP.NET. Writing codes using three tier architecture.

Hello all.

I am a beginner in c#.I heard that writing program with three tier architecture are easy and maintainable.

I just wanted to know with a small example on how to write three tier architecture programs.

Thanks :-)

3 tier architecture in ASP.NET

Hi i want to develop an application in asp.net using 3 tier architecture .

i know that there are three layers

  1. Data layer
  2. Business Layer
    1. Data Access Layer
    2. Business Logic Layer
  3. Presentation Layer

I am confused between Data Access Layer and Business Logic Layer.

In data access layer we develop the property classes and main class function which returns datasets, datatables and data reader to Presentation layer.

what is the use of Business Logic Layer ? what actually we do in Business logic Layer ?? we can pass data directly from data access layer to presentation layer ?? can anyone give any small example to understand ??

asp.net insert into 3 related tables using three tier architecture and typed datasets

I am using ASP.NET (C# and sql server express 2005) for my web application project. I have three related tables.I want to do an insert using typed datasets, tableadapters and three tier architecture.I wish to know how to do simultaneous inserts in 3 tables. So i wish to insert a row in first table and get its primary key.Same with the second table.I will use the primary keys of those first two tables to do the insert in the third table. How can i accomplish this using formview control and what methods should i use??Please give me suggestions.thanks in advance for reading this. I really appreciate it.

how to implement web services in a 3 tier architecture?

Hi could any one help me,how to implement web services in a 3 tier architecture and also give a brief idea about how to implement coding as soon as possible.

What is the use of 3-Tier Architecture?

I have no idea about 3-Tier Architecture? so please tell me. What is the use of 3-Tier Architecture?

Using LINQ in 3-Tier Architecture

Hello,

In ASP.NET 2.0, I found Scott Mitchell's series on the 3-Tier Architecture supremely helpful for organizing reasonably complex web applications: http://www.asp.net/learn/data-access/tutorial-01-cs.aspx

I'm wondering how to incorporate ASP.NET 3.5 technology (namely, LINQ), into this same presentation / business logic / data access model for application development.

For developers that wanted to forgo sprocs altogether, would the:

  1. O/R Mapper be used to create the data access layer?
  2. Class files for LINQ to create the business logic layer (though this really seems like data access)?

Thanks for any insights!

need help to finish this sample project - using 3 Tier architecture

hi friends, i ma new to asp.net, i am just learning asp.net using this site and some resources from internet , internet is the only source for me.  and here  i have a project that should be designed by the patter of 3 tier architecture. i have an idea, but i couldn't start it, need your guidance, if i did this , it will very useful for me to get a job. please help me.

these are the requirements and steps.

Please find below the steps, we follow up.
1. Develop a Sample project in 3 Tier architecture in .Net 3.5 using VS 2005 or 2008 and MS SQL 2005 Express
(Login page, User session handled inner page with a listing of data, provision to insert and update data)
2. Coding should be of standards as per document attached
3. No Hard Coding instead, values should be placed in constants, config file and retrieved.
 Particularly DB connection.
4. Stored Procedures should be used for Data insert, retrieval and update.
5. Sample Project should have implemented Client as well as Server side field validations
6. Data Classes, Try Catch for transactions in code should be used

3-tier architecture deployment

Hai guys, i'm working as a .net developer for the past one year. Recently i faced an interview question of how to install a 3 - tier web application in a real time scenario.

Data access layer resides in SQL Server

UI resides in IIS (i mean aspx pages)

where does the BLL dll's (c# library) resides ?

All the aspx pages along with the bin folder (BLL dll's) will reside in IIS or is there a seperate layer for it to install ?

If there is ajax used then where does the ajax dll's reside in a real time deployment scenario?

Please answer?

For Example

I have 10 controls in presentation layer. I passing values to these controls. How the architecture works.
