pulling data from two xml

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

I have 2 xmls that I am pulling data from based on when a field in the first is equal to a field in the second.  I can't seem to pull the correct results even though, at least in my mind the xsl looks correct.  A portion of my xsl is below that shows how I am trying to pull information from both.

Any thoughts?

Pulling Data from Gridview

I am currently adding checkbox functionality to a system.  I would like to check a group of users and add them into a db table.  I currently have the administrator values flowing into the db table fine but it will not insert the empID into the table from the gridview.  Here is my code:  protected void gvAddUsers_OnRowCommand(object sender, GridViewCommandEventArgs e) { if (e.CommandName == "Add") { if (e.CommandName == "add2") { int index = Convert.ToInt32(e.CommandArgument); DataKey data = gvAddUsers.DataKeys[index]; hiddenEmpId.Value = data["hr_emp_id"].ToString(); litEmpName.Text = data["empName"].ToString(); pnlSelectUser.Visible = false; pnlSetAccess.Visible = true; } } } protected void btn_add_user_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { bool userInserted2 = false; string errorMsg2 = ""; ArrayList refId = new ArrayList(); foreach (GridViewRow gr in gvAddUsers.Rows) { CheckBox chk = (CheckBox)gr.FindControl("chk_add_users"); if (chk != null) { if (chk.Checked) { refId.Add(gvAddUser

Need Information on pulling data from Oracle Source to SQL Server

Hi,   I was told that we will be extracting data from Oracle database and loading into SQL Server Database. I will be developing packages on the Remote Server where SQL Server is installed. I mean I wont be developing anything on my local machine. This is the first time I will be writing a package to extract data from Oracle database and my knowledge on Oracle is zero.   Could someone list out  what all I need to do to extract data from Oracle database ?  Server that I will be working is new and nothing is installed on that except the SQL Server 2008.

Pulling data from an Excel Speadsheet to a Sharepoint List

I have an Excel Spreadsheet filled with company phone numbers which I would like to pull into a Sharepoint List. I am unsure of how to go about this, as my only experience so far is using SQL statements for an Access Database to pull information from one location to another. I would also like this list to be searchable and sortable if possible. As another option, I have looked at Datasheet views in Sharepoint and it is possible that the data could be re-entered in here (will take a very long time though) but I unfortunetly also don't know how to export the data into a printable document from here. Any help with either option would be very much appreciated as I am quite new to Sharepoint! Thank you very much

Help pulling data from Sharepoint List in SSRS

Hi there, hoping somebody can help me out here.

I'm using SSRS and trying to connect to a sharepoint list.

I followed the steps here:

But I'm still getting an error. I'll give as much info as I can.

For the shared datasource, I'm using a link that when I plug it into a browser it brings back "Lists Web Service," so I think that part is fine.

When I try to enter the "SOAP CALL" into the Query string of my data set I get an error.
Soap Call:
<Method Namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/" Name="GetListItems">
<Parameter Name="listName">
<ElementPath IgnoreNamespaces="True">*</ElementPath>

Error Message:

Could not generate a list of fields for the query.

SP Designer 2010 - SOAP Data Source - Pulling User Profiles with XML QueryEx

Issue pulling data using ADSDSOObject provider

SQL Server 2008 R2 (64-bit)

Storing and Pulling data in DB to get Google Map location

I have this simple project which needs to show location on a google map by pulling data from the DB.

I am using asp.net, mysql DB, google map and i found out from some website that i needed to use ajax.

The process is like this
1. I have a event form where i have multiple fields to fill in and it includes a Location/Venue fields which i can enter a location by Name(Not the Co-ordination). I am located in Singapore. So all fields will be stored into the DB.

2. I have a webpage displaying a table of the data from the same DB, and it comes with a embedded Google Map. On the table, the value of the Location column will be Hyperlinked, and when i click it, it will act as a search query in the embedded google map and locate the address without reloading the page again(which i believe i gotta use iframe?)

I hope to get suggestions or references from you guys as i have been searching up and down for it... Thanks

Textbox control not pulling in data in Editform.aspx

In Sharepoint Designer I have created a custom Newform.aspx and Editform.aspx.   I am using Text boxes that are pointed to datafields in my tracking list.  The Newform works perfectly, users are able to enter in their data with no issues and the data popluates in teh correct datafields in the list.  However when a user goes to edit a current entry using the Editform, all of the controls auto popluate with the current data already entered except for the textbox controls.

If I toggel the textbox controls to a listform field in SharePoint Designer, I can see the data is there, but when I switch back to a textbox field they are blank again. Then if a user saves the new edit while the textbox fields are blank, the previous data is removed.

Reading online and several blogs I get the impresion I may need a custom field or some code to pull this data in, but I am not sure and I am still farly new to SharePoint Designer.

Thank you,

Pulling data from SQL tables in a Sharepoint Workflow based on an InfoPath form submission

I'm not sure this is the right forum for this, but here goes:

I'm creating a workflow that kicks off when a user submits an InfoPath form to a form library on a Sharepoint 2007 platform.  The workflow should find the manager of the user that submitted the form from SQL and email that person for approval before the next step is run.  Is this possible in Sharepoint 2007 or is using SQL in a workflow only a feature of Sharepoint 2010?

Thanks in advance

Binding WPF Controls to an Entity Data Model

In this interview, programming writer, McLean Schofield, demonstrates how to bind WPF controls to an entity data model, using Visual Studio 2010 Beta 1. You can also learn more in the topic: Walkthrough: Binding WPF Controls to an Entity Data Model.

Surrogate vs Natural Primary Keys - Data Modeling Mistake 2 of 10

In case you're new to the series I've compiled a list of ten data modeling mistakes that I see over and over that I'm tackling one by one. I'll be speaking about these topics at the upcoming IASA conference in October, so I'm hoping to generate some discussion to at least confirm I have well founded arguments.

The last post in this series Referential Integrity was probably less controversial than this one. After all, who can argue against enforcing referential integrity? But as obvious as surrogate keys may be to some, there is a good deal of diversity of opinion as evidenced by the fact that people continue to not use them.

Editing the Data in a GridView

In addition to deleting a GridView's underlying data, another common need is to allow end users to edit the data displayed in a GridView. With ASP.NET 1.x's DataGrid control, editing the data is certainly possible, but requires creating three event handlers and writing a dozen or so lines of code. With the GridView and ASP.NET 2.0, it is possible to create an editable GridView without writing a single line of code! All of the necessary functionality is encapsulated within the GridView.

The GridView allows editing on a row-by-row basis. An editable GridView contains an additional column with an Edit button in each row. When the end user clicks on an Edit button that row becomes editable, causing the Edit button to change to Update and Cancel buttons and the other columns to become TextBoxes. The end user can then update one or more column values and click Update to save their changes.

Using ASP.NET 3.5's ListView and DataPager Controls: Displaying Data with the ListView

Prior to ASP.NET 3.5, developers who needed to display a set of records could choose between the GridView, DataList, and Repeater controls. The GridView provides rich data features, but has a very boxy layout; the DataList and Repeater allow for a more flexible layout, but lack the "point and click" data features found in the GridView, DetailsView, and FormView controls. The ListView bridges the gap between layout flexibility and built-in data features.

This article, the first in a series of articles on the ListView and DataPager controls, looks at the ListView's many available templates and illustrates how to display data. Read on to learn more!

Dynamic Data Templates in GridView ASP.NET 3.5

At a high level, Dynamic Data Templates can be seen as a system to very quickly build up a User Interface linked with the relevant data model, immediately enabling you to perform CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete) on the database using the specified data source. They provide a powerful method for building up these kinds of applications, and I'm going to focus on an overview of what Dynamic Data Templates actually are, and a few ways of customizing them to suit industry needs.

MS SQL Server: Search All Tables, Columns & Rows For Data or Keyword Query

If you need to search your entire database for specific data, this query will come in handy.

So when a client needs a custom report or some sort of custom development using Great Plains, most of the time I will have to track down the data in the system by running this query and find the table(s) it is in.

Displaying Data using ASP.NET 2.0 Repeater and C#

This tutorial will show you how to display data using the .NET Repeater Control, ASP.NET 2.0 and C#.NET

The Repeater control is a powerful tool and is easy to use.

First, you will need to import the System.Data.SqlClient namespace.
