I extended an ImageButton control and its image is changing as expected, but its OnClick is not firing.
public class ExtendedImageButton: ImageButton
protected override void OnPreRender(EventArgs e)
if (HttpContext.Current.Request.Cookies["happy_cookie"] != null )
this.ImageUrl = "http://domain/apple.gif";
this.Click += new ImageClickEventHandler(AppleAlert);
this.ImageUrl = "http://domain/mango.gif";
this.Click += new ImageClickEventHandler(MangoAlert);
protected AppleAlert(object sender, ImageClickEventArgs e)
protected void MangoAlert(object sender, ImageClickEventArgs e)
I have teh seadragon working, but when I try to active it with a hovermenu or popupcontrol, I don't get an error, I just get everything except for the actual image. It has the background, the controls of enlarge, shrink etc, but no image.
I have a page that is opened in a popup window from the main page. Once i click insert it pops up a message that says you have successfully added blah blah. Then once you click ok it closes the popup page and goes back to the main page. I want to be able to refresh the main page back to how it was when you first land on the page. Here is the code for my insert button:
style="background-image:url('Images/Button.gif'); text-align:center;background-color:Transparent; cursor:hand; background-repeat:no-repeat; background-position:left; padding-left:15px; font-family: 'Arial Unicode MS'; font-size: small; font-weight: bold;"
Runat="server" Height="25px" BorderStyle=None ForeColor=White Text="Insert"
I am using CreateUserWizard Control to register clients in my SQL Database. I have two tables: Customers and Categories. Customers CustomerID is a foreign key in Categoris. It is also automatically generated when values are inserted into Customers table.
Categories tables receives values from CheckBoxList control as CatCodes.
Everything works fine but one. When values are inserted into Customers and Categories table during registration, CustomerID is not inserted into the Categories table using the following sql code:
<asp:SqlDataSource ID="InsertDealerId" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:myconnection %>"
InsertCommand="INSERT INTO [Categories] ([CustomerID])
SELECT Customers.CustomerID FROM Customers WHERE Customers.CustomerID = @CustomerID"
ProviderName="<%$ ConnectionStrings:myconnection.ProviderName %>">
<asp:Parameter Name="DealerID" />
I have tested is in SQL management studio and it gives no error, which means code is correct. Also, following is my full code with code behind to better understand what is going on. It's been a week now I am struggling with this and can't und
It should be simple, but I didn't found yet how to do it.
There is only one user (Admin with user name and passowrd, he has a cookie so I know when he is watching the page) I would like to show him the Update/Delete/Insert button options in my ListView, but to the other users I don't want them to be able doing this kind of things, So it should be hidden from them.
How I am doing it in C# code?
Showing/Hiding these buttons?

I'm struggling with trying to use RIA services from an ASP.NET web site.
I created a new web site, added an entity framework model, then added a RIA service that uses that model. I used the DomainDataSource control to bind the ASP.NET controls to the RIA service.
I have a GridView that shows items from the database (via RIA and the entity framework model underneath it), and can see the items fine. I added a DetailsView as a pop-up, as shown in http://mattberseth.com/blog/2007/07/modalpopupextender_example_for.html and http://mattberseth.com/blog/2008/04/masterdetail_with_the_gridview.html. When I click the "edit" link in a row in the GridView, the DetailsView shows with the right data, but clicking the "save" link doesn't actually update the database.
Furthermore, I can't work out how to add new items this way, as when I try and use the DetailsView to add a new item, nothing is sent to the database.
Anyone any ideas how this can be done?
I'm making a custom control that is a numeric keypad. You can hook it to a text box and when the text box gets focus it will pop up the keypad window for data entry, additionaly it checks the validation errors for the host control and if any, it will display
them in a popup. The keypad window work fine, it's the validation error popup that killing me. My problem is this: First in order to get the Popup to display in the corect Zorder(to be top most) I had to set an event handler on the popup's Opened event and
in that event I had to toggle it's parent window's TopMost property from true to false.(I'm totaly baffled by this). This all works if I bring the keypad window to life with it's Show() method, this is not what I want because of the modless behaviour.
Instead I want to bring the keypad to life with it's ShowDialog() method, but if I do the popup for the validation error info stops calling the CustomPopupPlacment delegate assigned to it, and no longer positions correctly. Can any one help? I don't see a
way to attach the source code so I'll post it here:
This is a test app for the keypad eventually I will use it for a program that controls a machine we build tha
