Open local word document

Ok, now my last question for this day:

I want to open a Microsoft Word dot-file when the user klicks on a button in my intranet application. The dot-file is located on the harddrive of the user and executes some code in the AutoOpen() Sub.

Any possibilities to solve that issue? Using Javascript or a hyperlink?

Open word document from asp.net - toolbar not visible.

We have a scenario where the data on the web page needs to be opened in MS Word document.

For this we are using

HttpContext.Current.Response.ContentType = "application/msword"

But when we select "Open" in the popup box and the msword opens up, tool bars for msword is not displayed (Font/ font size etc.). But if we choose to save and open the saved document at that time the standard tool bar is visible.

Is there any way to display word doc with standard tool bars.

Editable Word Document in the Web Browser using ASP.Net

I have a requirement to develop a web application which should be capable of opening a word document in the browser and be able to edit it in the browser itself. After editing the document I want to save it to the sql server and print the same.

I was reading about Office Web Apps, but could not find any API to integrate it with my ASP.Net application. Are there any other alternatives. Your quick response will be highly appriciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Cannot open Word document from sharepoint Shared Documents folder

Hey Every body

I have a very strange problem. Our Company has a Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007 solution running as our company Intranet solution.

We have a solution where outside users, can gain access to a workspace site on Sharepoint where diffrent people can work together on projects that involves both out side users and internal staff.
We have a folder called shares documents here we can upload documents that we want the other memebers off this workspace too see.
The problem is that internal staff can open up Word documents directly, but the external users are not able to open up directly these Word documents. Word just sayes that that is is unabel to open up the word document.
But when the users download the documents instead it works fine.

I have tries with both offcie 2003 and office 2007 and the problem is the same. But if i try to open up these documens via Open Office the problem due not exits, then is works fine. Why does Microsoft Word have these problems?

And is it just when the external users are opening up the documents directly from the sahred Documens folder that we have this problem.

The external users are connecting to our Citrix Netscaller security solution for authenticating purpoes first, after they have been validated through this solution, they ar

Advanced Basics: Setting Word Document Properties the Office 2007 Way

The last time I wrote this column (March 2006), I shared an application that allows you to update all the Microsoft® Word documents in a folder and its subfolders. Each time the application finds a document in the specified path, it updates the document properties to match those you specified in the application.
