jQuery example that uses the FORM element - how is ASP.NET?

Posted By:      Posted Date: April 10, 2011    Points: 0   Category :ASP.Net

Hi

I've found a really good validation jQuery example, but it uses a class that associated to the HTML FORM element, How can I used the following in my ASP.NET files where I'm also using a Master Page?

        <script>
            jQuery(document).ready(function(){
                jQuery("#formID").validationEngine();
            });

        </script>
    </head>
    <body>
        <form id="formID" method="post" action="">
                    <input value="" class="validate[required] text-input" type="text" name="req" id="req" />

            <input class="submit" type="submit" value="Validate & Send the form!"/><hr/>
        </form>
    </body>
Thanks as always

JQuery Validate plugin to validate a ASP.NET Form

The first time I used the JQuery Validate plugin, it did not work at all, see JQuery Validate odd behaviour with the ASP.NET Script Manager for reason, but perseverance and stubbornness prevailed and I finally created my first JQuery validated ASP.NET Forms contact form.

(MVC & jQuery) Can't Add Datepicker to List of form elements

Hello,

I'm still relatively new to jQuery (mostly finding things I need online and making simple changes). I have the following piece of code in my MVC app to render a partial view

<% int i = 0;
   foreach (var item in Model) { %>

    <tr>
        <td valign="top" style="border: none;">
            <%= Html.TextBox("MeetingList[" + i + "].Start", String.Format("{0:MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm}", item.Start), new { @style = "width: 120px;", @class="start" })%>
        </td>
        <td valign="top" style="border: none;">
            <%= Html.TextBox("MeetingList[" + i + "].End", String.Format("{0:MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm}", item.End), new { @style = "width: 120px;", @class = "end" })%>
        </td>

And I've tried the following to grab each of those 'MeetingList[...' items and add a datepicker to them,

        $(".start").each(function(index) {
            var $temp = $('#MeetingList[' + index + '].Start');
            $temp.datepicker();
            $("#MeetingList["+index+"].Start").datepicker();
}); });

Run jQuery script after each form post in mvc2 app

I need to exec some js each time a page loads, and also every time a view is returned after a post action.  I use jQuery.ajax to post form - using url of Controller/Action.  Post is successful and response data is correct, but my js doesn't get called.

I had js in a script tag, within the head of my view.aspx, and found that it does not execute each time the response is received after a post action.  I also tried calling this within $(document).ready, but this does not execute after post action.  window.onload also does not exec after post action.

I prefer not to use MS AJAX js lib, but if there is some pageLoad function, I will give it a try.

Is there a native javascript event that is raised when http response is received?  Thanks.

jquery form hints

I have used javascript to validate input boxes and used jQuery to provide hints to the input boxes.

And when I am trying to validate the inputs, its taking the hints(using jquery) as the actual input and there is no error showing.

So I have hard coded the values..In place of

if (document.getElementById("< %=txtName.ClientID% > ").value=="")

value=="",I have given value="E.G.John"

Is it the correct way or is there anything else?

By the way, I am doing all this in asp.net

Please help me.

Where do Custom List Forms get their form element ordering from?

I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out where Designer gets is column/field ordering from when you insert a custom list form onto a page.  The order (and ever what's rendered) is not what my content type is.  Can anyone please tell me where it gets its order from, or do I just have to be resigned to re-ordering it in html view?  I am trying to create a "perfect" list template so that it can be used repeatedly and always be in the same order.
There are no mistakes; every result tells you something of value about what your are trying to accomplish.

jQuery Form to Form Wizard

This powerful jQuery script turns a FORM into a multi-step FORM wizard! Simply group logical elements within your FORM by surrounding them with the FIELDSET element, and the script does the rest in creating a new page for each group, plus the appropriate "Steps" text and pagination links above and below the form. It helps make filling out long forms more intuitive and less daunting. And when it comes to form validation, fear not, a built in form validation feature plus two event handlers, oninit and onpagechangestart of the script make it possible to perform form validation on each form page easily before allowing the user to move on to the next page.

The only requirement to using this script on a form is that you have access to the FORM's HTML markup in order to inject a FIELDSET element in the desired locations.
