Issue with SQL 2008 replication logreader errors The process could not execute 'sp_repldone/sp_repl

I noticed the log reader agent with the following errors on a production server.

I then tried to check the Msrepl_transactions table for any information. This was blank, before hand I had noticed a high number of deadlocking going on with the distribution history tables on thesame publisher/distributor.

Log Reader Error: The process could not execute 'sp_repldone/sp_replcounters'

SQL EXPRESS 2008 replication issue with sync media center on windows 7

Dear all,

I am not able to configure the system in order to make it solve merge conflicts interactively (that is with the help of the user).

The configuration is the following one:

PC-A: sql server 2008. With one the DB "myDB" published for replication.

PC-B: sql server 2008 r2 express. With two replicas of "myDB" on the same instance of sql express: "myDB1Replica" and "myDB2Replica"

The two replicas simulate two users that change the content of the same record so that I can test how the system behaves in case of conflicts.

Everything runs smoothly if "Resolve conflicts automatically" is set... but I get this error message when "Resolve conflicts interactively (only applies to articles that support interactive resolution)" is selected.

Error: The merge process failed to get correct information about the Interactive Resolver component from the registry. Verify that the registry exists and that the path is correct.

Of course this has been enabled on the article (from PC-A on sql server) and on the subscription (from both PC-B sql express and syncro center) as well.

I have been searching everywhere and found nothing! Any help would be really appreciated! I really need to run the interactive conflict resolution

SQL Server 2008 R2 Replication: The process could not connect to Subscriber

We are facing a lot of problem with replication between SQL Server 2008 R2 servers. Let me describe the scenario..

We have 20 branches and one main Server in our organization, all are running SQL Server 2008 R2. The Main server is a Windows 2008 R2 x64 bit computer from which we want to create both way transaction replication (Data inserted in to any branch will be reflected to the main server and from there all other branches will get the same data) to all other branches.  Branch machines are 32 bit XP sp3 or Windows 7. All the machines are under workgroup. Among 20 branches we could successfully establish both way replication on 5 branches only. When we are trying to publish data from main server to say Branch A (with windows 7), it says "The process could not connect to Subscriber 'A'". We can ping to branch A and can login to Branch A from Main server through Management Studio which proves that there is no connectivity issue. Branch A can publish data to Main server without any problem. Even Branch A can subscribe data from another branch Branch B.

I cannot understand why this problem is happening for other 15 branches to subscribe data from Main Server. I have some queries in mind

  1. Is there any upper limit of subscription no?
  2. Is there any problem with windows 7?

Word Automation Issue in Windows Server 2008 Hosting

The problem I am posting here is that I was facing nearly 2 weeks around. Any body comes with this stuff please help.

Word Automation in sample ASP.NET(C#) application.

I am using Microsoft.Office.Inetrop.Word Assembly for automation. Here I am reading a XXX.dot template file and fill the contents with dynamic data.

When i am executing my code in localhost:someportnumber the automation is working fine and I could get expected result and when I am hosting in my inetmgr(Windows XP is my OS) it is also working fine.

But the problem is that when I am hosting in my production server(Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition) I am not able to perform automation and results in the following error.

Data: System.Collections.ListDictionaryInternal
Message: Word has encountered a problem.
Source: Microsoft Word

The code gets failed in the following line:

ApplicationClass wordApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.ApplicationClass();

Document wordDoc = wordApp.Documents.Add(ref oTemplate, ref oFalse, ref oMissing, ref oMissing); // Error in this line

I cannot able to proceed further. Can anybody please help me in solving this issue?

Thank you.

Execute Package Task password issue

I have a parent and child package. Both are stored on the file system and both are password protected. My problem is that when I call the child package from the parent using execute package task, I get prompted for the child package's password. Now the PackagePassword property of the Execute Package Task is supposed to take care of that. But for some reason the password stored in the Execute Package Task is not getting passed to the child package.  I've re-entered the PackPassword property several times, but it did not help.  I even tried loading the password from a config file, but that did not make any difference.  Can anyone help?

SQL 2008 geography type replication

Hi, I am attempting to get merge replication going between two SQL 2008 servers.  So far, everything has gone off without a hitch with one exception.  We use spatial data on a daily basis in my organization, so we implemented the geography data type.  This data type seems to be causing all of our replication issues.  I can easily create publications and subscriptions for each article in the entire database except the geography field. The error is as follows: "The Merge Agent failed because the schema of the article at the Publisher does not match the schema of the article at the Subscriber. This can occur when there are pending DDL changes waiting to be applied at the Subscriber. Restart the Merge Agent to apply the DDL changes and synchronize the subscription." The real kicker is that the schemas are exactly the same.  If I set the publication to drop and recreate the subscription article, then to convert the geography data type, it works without issue, but then we run into issues with our publication database not matching exactly with our subscription database, which could cause many potential problems with our web front end.   Is there a known issue with replicating the geography data type?  Any help is very much appreciated! - Chad

Sql Server 2008 R2 Replication

Dears, I am make a testing environment before implementing it into real world. I have 3 servers SQL 2008 R2, i configured 1 Publisher, 2 Subcribers with a merged replication. Everything is Ok. However, i have an ID field on Publisher which is autonumber(Start by 1, increment by 1). When I try to add new record on publisher, it takes it 1 by 1 i.e. 1-2-3.... But i try to add it on subscriber it starts with 20,000 i.e. 20001, 20002. I think this is logical for SQL, but can i define this number on the subscriber? So it will start on 200,000 for example? Another question, In LAN i can connect the subscriber to the publisher, it will connect to it directly, since it is broadcast. But in WAN environment how can the subscriber detects the publisher??? Your reply is highly appreciated, Thanks in advance,

SQL 2008 Upgrade Replication failure

we upgraded to Sql 2008 standard edition last night from 2000 and our replication is now failing, cannot delete it or enter new ones.   I found one article saying the following stored procedures need to be run to upgrade the replcation:   exec sp_vupgrade_replication  exec sp_vupgrade_repl_metadata   however the first one throws and error and the second one seems not to exists.  does anyone have any insight into this. or how to delete the replications?   the error from the stored proc sp_vupgrade_replication  is :   Upgrading subscription settings and system objects in database [SoxAuditSystem]. Attempting to copy article resolvers from SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\Replication\ArticleResolver Msg 25026, Level 16, State 1, Procedure sp_registercustomresolver, Line 82 The proc sp_registercustomresolver cannot proceed because it is not run in the context of the distribution database, or the distribution database is not properly upgraded.

SQL Server 2008 Installation issue in Windows 7 64 bit

I'm trying to install SQL 2008, but an error message keeps appearing: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 installation has failed. SQL Server 2008 Setup requires .NET Framework 3.5 to be installed.   My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits, so already has de .NET Framework 3.5, I turned on/off a lot of times and the same error occurs! I download the .NET Framework 3.5 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 from the links: (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325fd-ae52-4e35-b531-508d977d32a6&displaylang=en http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=AB99342F-5D1A-413D-8319-81DA479AB0D7&displaylang=en) But, when installing the Framework 3.5 or the SP1, I get the message: "Use turn on or off disable features in Windows control panel".   Someone can help me?! - Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits - SQL Server 2008 Developer (x86, x64, ia64).   Thanks! Execute Process task - On Error (i want to override the error message)

Hi, In my package I am calling one exe to copy the files from local folders to SFTP. I am using a execute process task and I am passing the parameters like (address, username, password,....). The exe and syntax are given below. SFTPCopier.exe <<machinename>> <<username>> <<password> <<local directory path>> The problem is when the exe is failing to copy the files to SFTP due to some reason, the SSIS package is outputting the entire command in the log information (including the username & password). I dont want to write the password in the log information. I want to remove that password from the log information when an error occured in the execute process task. Can some one please tell me the way to override the message? Can I put a on error handler for that execute process task and use a script task to modify the "ErrorDescription" variable? Will that works? Thanks in advance.

Help!!!! Permission issue with Analysis Services on Windows 2008 R2

Hi I'm with a project using Sql Server 2008 on Windows Server 2008 R2. It seems I can not connect to Analysis Services server with SA acount but only with Windows Authentication (The 'Authentication' option is diabled). And when I connect to Analysis Services with my windows acount , I do not have the permission to either create a database (ERROR:Either '***' user does not have the permission to create a new object, or the object does not exist) or grant server privilege to my windows account (ERROR: Only an administrator can make changes to server properties). Also, I failed to remote connect to Analysis Services on Server with my windows account (But I can remote connect to Database engine). Any idea?  Thanks!
