Invalid object error on temp table on a particular environment

Hi, I am using a temp table in my sp. I have written the following tsql before and after using the temp table. IF OBJECT_ID('tempdb..##TEMP') IS NOT NULL DROP TABLE tempdb..##TEMP; Data will be inserted to the temp table consecutively using a cursor. I use SELECT * INTO tempdb..##TEMP FROM EXEC('query') to fill this temp table for the first time and INSERT INTO tempdb..##TEMP(<fields>) EXEC('query') for the remaining times. The SP is working fine in my laptop, but I am getting an Invalid Object error on this temp table name in the production server. Could anyone tell me the possible causes please? Thanks Sree

Running Javascript in a report's tooltips

I want to find out if it is possible to run javascript when a user hovers over a cell in a report and the cell has a tooltip defined.

The idea would be to run another reporting services when a user hovers over a particular cell in their report, almost like you would launch a new report uisng the window.open javascript in a report action.

Running Subreport and link to report ahead of time.

Folks,

I have a question regarding running subreports ahead of time to ensure long running report does not take over 1 hour.

Problem Statment:

I have a top report subscription (Dashboard) that runs daily. In the top report, I have links to sub report that based its parameter to the top report row. The problem is the sub reports takes 20-30 minutes to run. How can pre run the sub reports once the top report has run, so that I do not have to wait 20-30 minutes to drill in to those sub report ?

Thanks

Invalid object name error

Hi Experts,

I create a simple controw flow task with the following code:

UPDATE Production.Product

SET ProductLine = 's'

WHERE ProductLine IS NULL

when i insert the SQL task object into a Sequence container and run the debugger i get the following error: "failed with the following error: invalid object  name Production.Product".

Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?

bcp queryout using $PARTITION fails with Native Client error: Invalid Object $PARTITION

Using bcp queryout, in-line queries of the following form fail with the invalid object error on the $PARTITION keyword:

bcp "SELECT S.* FROM Support_Prod.ADSK.Session S INNER JOIN ##Session #S ON (S.SessionId = #S.SessionId AND S.LastInquiryId = #S.LastInquiryId AND $PARTITION.AdskInqPF(S.LastInquiryId) = $PARTITION.AdskInqPF(#S.LastInquiryId))" queryout I:\Data2\AdskBCPout\ADSK.Session.dat -fI:\Data2\AdskBCPout\ADSK.Session.format.xml -q -t\t -r\n -SINTDEVSQL1\DEV1 -T

Here, AdskInqPF is a well-formed partition function used to partition Support_Prod.ADSK.Session.  ##Session is a table of semi-joins derived from the former, but is not partitioned.  LastInquiryID is the partitioning key on the Session entity.

The resulting error is:

SQLState = S0002, NativeError = 208
Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Invalid object name '$partition.AdskInqPF'.
SQLState = S0002, NativeError = 208
Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Invalid object name '$partition.AdskInqPF'.
SQLState = 37000, NativeError = 8180
Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Statement(s) could not be prepared.

The platform is SQL Server 2008 SP1 and the bcp is

upgrading from 2000 to 2008 - invalid object tempcatalog

I'm guessing a missed a step somewhere. I'm trying to upgrade an existing 2000 reporting service database to 2008.

I took a backup of the reportserver database and reportservertmpdb database. I restored both copies. I backedup and restored the encryption keys. I used the reporting services config manager to change the current database to the one i just restored. Everything seemed to go ok.

When i try to open the url, i get the following error:

Invalid object name 'ReportServerTempDB.dbo.TempCatalog'. Could not use view or function 'ExtendedCatalog' because of binding errors.

Any idea what i've missed?

Invalid object name 'dbo.Import_SymbolsNames'.

I am the administrator for the database. I have a database with 21 tables and 65 stored procedures that were created in SQL Server 2005 and all work flawlessly. I recently installed SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise and imported all the data and stored procedures. Everything still works fine.

I created a new stored procedure and it creates fine and I can see it in the databases stored procedures along with the others. When I go to modify the stored proc, the code comes up fine, but I get the red error underline and shows the error "Invalid object name 'dbo.Import_SymbolsNames'." I can ALTER the sproc and it still saves it. If I try to run the sproc, it does nothing, I get a return value of 0 and I get the error "Could not find the stored procedure 'dbo.Import_SymbolsNames'. Not sure what's going on here, maybe a config problem. I tried it with an existing sproc and changed the name with the same results. It's a very simple bulk insert routine. Below is the code.

WPF 4 with SSRS Report Viewer and long running Background Worker Dispatch task.

Hello,

I've recently run into an issue with with WPF 4 and the SSRS viewer control with a batch emailing application. See http://www.jenasysdesign.com.au/dnn/Blogs/tabid/71/EntryId/5/WPF-4-SQL-Server-Reporting-Services-processing-application-Memory-Leak.aspx for details of some performance profiling issues I found with this technology stack.

I've got two issues.

Firstly, I implemented a background worker process to handling looping through the 2,800 reports. I found to run the SSRS report viewer to export the report results in a slow memory leak. See Red-gate Ants memory profiler 6 image in the link above. I'm not sure what I need to do to remove weak references with this combination of technology. Any ideas?

Secondly, the following code runs on the background worker process, designed so the user can monitor the progress of the a large batch of report files getting generated.  The catch here is involves using the SSRS viewer to export a reports results requires the Dispatcher.Invoke method to ensure that ReportViewer.xaml screen gets a UI thread, but in the process it interferes with the background workers report progress methods, so the UI doesn't see the progress.
