Where can I find Javascript .NET Framework Reference?

I have been Googling for hours to find a reference to methods and properties in Objects in the .NET framework using Javascript in ASP.

I can see from examples that properties are not spelled the same when accesing from C# in code behind and in Javascript. And it seems like the avaiable methods and events are not the same in C# and Javascript.

Does any one know where I can find such a reference?

Thank you!

cannot find a reference to Microsoft.sharepoint.dll on sharepoint a macchine

I have sharepoint 2007 installed on server 2008 (VPC).

In VS2008 I am unable to find Microsot.Shaerpoint.dll in "ADD Reference" section.

I am able to browse for it in C:\...\ISAPI\Microsoft.Sharepoint.dll and add it.

I am wondering why is this not in .Net tab like I find in other sharepoint machines.

Am I missing any upodates or service packs for VS2008. I do not have SP1 installed to mention.

Please help resolve this.

Thank you

with FindControl() receives: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I am trying to "Find" a TableCell in a GridView but receive the error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

First in the Page_Load event I set 5 rows to this GridView1. After this I loop through the GridView1 to FindControl("tdCell1") to set a String to each <td> on each of those 5 rows.

But I receive the above error when doing this. I wonder what I can be doing wrong? Thanks!

Can't find "Analysis Management Objects" in SSIS Script Task reference

I am trying to connect to an Analysis services cube through my script task. To achieve this, i will have to use the Microsoft.AnalysisServices namespace. For this, I need to add a reference in my Project explorer space, to "Analysis management Objects" . However, I am not able to find this. Does any one know where I can find the dll file required for this, or why it's not showing in the 'Add Reference' of my script task?

Dynamically Set Web Reference based on DEBUG and RELEASE modes

I ran into a problem today that took me a while to figure out (for the second time) and wanted to post it since I'm sure I'm not the only one to want to accomplish this. The problem is, I reference a web service from my application but the web service I want to use is on a different server than the one used in the production environment. Specifcally, I wanted to be able to run my web service on my local machine without having to manually change my web reference back and forth between the production URL and my localhost URL and risk forgetting to point it back to the correct server before releasing an update to production. Here's what I did to accomplish that:

  1. Set my Web Reference URL to my local URL in the properties window.
  2. Set the Web Reference URL Behavior to Dynamic. This lets the URL to be read from the project's AppSettings at runtime.
  3. Now that we're using the AppSettings as our URL, we can set that value at runtime as long as our setting is scoped at the User level and not the Application level. In the project, I opened Properties>Settings.settings and for the row with my Web Reference URL , changed Scope to User.
  4. From that window you can click the View Code button to open Settings.cs. I added this code to the constructor though, you could update the setting value elsewhere if needed:

Binding a ValidationRule property - Cannot find source for binding with reference 'ElementName=...'

I'm playing around with a custom ValidationRule that will make sure date 1 is less than date 2 (or visa versa). My ValidationRule exposes a public property for date2. If I want to explicitly set the date, that would be enough, but I wanted to be able to bind date2 to the SelectedDate of a DatePicker control. So I changed my ValidationRule's property type to a custom class, named DependencyDate, which exposes a date as a dependency property. Now I should be able to apply my ValidationRule to the binding on one DatePicker and bind the date 2 to another DatePicker's SelectedDate. The problem is, my binding is yielding the message "Cannot find source for binding with reference 'ElementName=dtEnd'". Here is the code:

<DatePicker Grid.Column="1" Name="dtStart">

A better way to reference your wizard steps using named steps

Note: this article uses the plain vanilla but the concepts apply equally well to its popular counterpart .

By far the most common way that I see wizard steps reference in code snippets is by their index.

find a Control inside a GridView using jQuery

I have databound GridView in my page and I have a hidden DIV in all rows. Each row contains a Button that I want it to make the DIV visible for me! how can I use that with jQuery?!

here is the code page:

reference from menubuttons to text parts in article on the same page

Hi, I'm searching now for hours but couldn't find it.Cry

In my menu i have several buttons which (by a <a href..) should go the a part of an article that is in the same form.

Menu button : What is a database should go to the page default.aspx and in there is an article published.
A part of this article is having a piece of text about "what is a database"

Menu button: how to make a query should go to this same article in the same page but then to the part that is have the piece about the query. The next could be an example of what i'm doing:

    <li><a href="default.aspx ?????>what is a database</a></li>
    <li><a href="default.aspx ?????>what is a query</a></li>

Where my question marks are, there should be a connection to that particular piece of text.
In each article part there is an ID="text1" and the second part id="text2"

How shoudl i do that, Should i use a question mark.
Please give me some guidance how to structure the <li> statement or a pointer where I can read about it.

Registering controls of current assembly object reference NOT set error

Hi There,

I have created a simple ASP.net Web Application (2.0) and have added a web user control.

Now in my page I have added this control but I have registered like this,

<%@ Register Assembly="WebApplication1" Namespace="WebApplication1" TagPrefix="Custom" %>

Which means I want to access all the controls in my current Web Application project

Then I have added my user control like this,

<Custom:MyUserControl ID="MyUserControl1" runat="server" PublicProperty="Hello" />

Every thing is fine but when I execute the project, NO control on my user control gets "instantiated" and thus I receive error "Object Reference Not Set"

Note that My Control has,

1) Public property PublicProperty as String

2) 1 Label control

In Load Event Handler I am setting Text property of Label Control to PublicProperty. Here object reference NOT set error occurs (which means Label control is NOT initialized).

I don't want to register my control using Src, TagPrefix etc. Any ideas?

Using loginName to find ADInfo from an outside class

I wrote a class to pull adinfo and for the life of me I can't seem to figure

out why it says "Invalid Login Name" no matter what I type in. If I leave

it blank it seems to work properly but it doesn't seem to be actually searching

the AD. I'll drop the whole class here, it's being initiated by a button click

on an outside form.

Thanks in Advance for any help Offered,

LDAP - Can't find server

Hey people,

I would like to get a persons name from their username - a common query on forums i know, but i haven't managed to get mine working yet and any help would be appreciated.

I currently have this code that I found here: http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=612655 (Thanks Chris128)

I have adapted it from VB into VB.net. The page renders but when i enter my username into the Username textBox and hit the submit button (Which calls IsUser) I just get "The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted." I have tried lots of other code but I always get this response...

If anyone can help by posting links to a tutorial or another post for code that they know works, i will give it a go.

Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'CurrencyProxy.CurrencyServiceSoap

I created 2 projects in my solution:

  1. Classic asp.net web service (asmx)
  2. Class library project which references service
  3. web site project which references class library project
  4. Windows app project which references service.

Both projects were created in 3.5 framework and in Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2.

I added web service reference to Class library project. When it asked for namespace I typed "CurrencyProxy". Projects build ok, but when I run web app, Class library throws an error: Could not find default endpoint element that references contract 'CurrencyProxy.CurrencyServiceSoap' in the ServiceModel client configuration section. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching this contract could be found in the client element.

I believe it has something to do with app.config in Class library project. Here is part from app.config:

<binding name="CurrencyServiceSoap" closeTimeout=
