Okay - I've done the basic trolling around in Google and the Forums as well as having visited this topic before (i.e. NET 2.0 timeframe). I'm now working with VS 2010 and .NET 4.0 and there STILL isn't a generic implementation in the base class library.
This definitely goes into the "WTH Microsoft" folder....
So I'm working on my own set of base classes for dealing with configuration... 1st pass is just to stub-in base classes with basic inheritance so I have a placeholder for adding my own logic/utility code...
