Problem with WCF: Error while reading message framing format at position 13665 of stream (state: Rea

Posted By:      Posted Date: December 04, 2010    Points: 0   Category :WCF

we're using the net.tcp binding, server is self-hosted.

One of our clients experience the following problem randomly appearing on each client couple of times a day:

System.ServiceModel.ProtocolException, System.ServiceModel, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089

Error while reading message framing format at position 13665 of stream (state: ReadingEnvelopeBytes)

The exception appears on the client. I analyzed the WCF trace of the server and there are no exceptions.

What can be the cause of the exception?

I'd really appreciate any help, because the client is in production and this brings lots of problems.

Distribution runs on seperate servers. Hardware: both nodes are Dell 6850'x 8 cores, 16  BG ram, running on a CX3-80 SAN   Utilization: 24x7 sales website - this is the OLTP DB supporting it.   Server Usage:   CPU typically around 10%-20%. Another ERROR Message Msg 156, Level 15, State 1, Line 2 Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'COLUMN'

Ok, I would like to ask you this if I may,

On another database I created a table named FICTION

and the table looks like this:

Now I am trying to change the data type in TITLE to CHAR(50)

The format of a message during Web Synchronization was invalid error.

My merge replication isn't working properly when I try to replicate large amounts of data.  The error I receive is:

"The format of a message during Web synchronization was invalid. Ensure that replication components are properly configured at the Web server."

I've found related topics with some discussion about a problem with having a mix of .NET frameworks.  I will look into this and see if this is the case for me but if so I'm confused why the replication would be working for small amounts of data but not large amounts of data.

Problem with reading byte array from stream in WCF Service

Hello i have WCF Service and at some point of my program i am getting pointer to byte array. I want to copy bytes from this byte array/pointer to another byte array and send it to client.

// EDIT : THis code is TOTALLY wrong  please see post under to see code and proper problem. Sorry for mistake.

 byte[] arrbyt = new byte[params.ActualSize + 1];
 int isize = Marshal.SizeOf(typeof(byte))*arrbyt.Length;
 IntPtr pt = Marshal.AllocHGlobal(isize);

 int ind = 0;
 while (read != 0)
 str.RemoteRead(out *(byte*)pt, size, out read);

 Marshal.Copy(pt, arrbyt, 0, isize);

//after that arrbyt is still empty but pt has good values in it. I tryied also with stackalloc and then IntPtr to it and then Marshal.Copy but the result was the same.

//Does any one had similar problem or have an idea how to copy bytes from pt to other array?

//edit RemoteRead is like ISequentialStream::Read M

Inserting personal error message in ValidationSummary

I am creating a web form that requires a lot of validation. I use many of the validation control in asp.net already like RequiredFieldValidator and CompareValidator.

My Problem: after my custom validation for the value entered return an error message, and I pressed enter key when the field is empty, my custom error message is overlapped by my ValidationSummary.

Setting my custom error to visible = false on button click also does not seem to work as it requires for me to enter the value first.

This made me think, is there a way to insert my custom validation inside the ValidationSummary as an error message like for other validation control?

Thanks in advance

create user wizard login error message dont show in a message box?

i am using create user wizard and capturing other information within content template when a new user

registers. Some of the textboxes are binded to required field validators.

there is a validation control on the page and ShowMessage box is True.

If they dont complete some of the text boxes then the message box pops Up with the error message.

It does not however include information errors like "User already exists" or Email address already exists

from the create user wizard membership  UserName and Password Textboxes

is it possilbe to hook all of these up so I get one message box with all errors including membership ones?

SQL Server Session state problem.

Hi to all,

I have some things that I want to know. I am right now using a free asp.net webhosting ("somee.com"). The problem is that when I am visiting a page, there's a tendency that values stored in my session variables are lost. Therefore, it causes an error when the requested page is loaded.

1. I am thinking of using sessionState mode="SqlServer". Will it solve my problem?

Actualy Im working on it but Im having problems when connecting to the sql database.

2.  Is that a problem in the webhost?

3. Do free webhosting sites provide allow session state in the sql server?. Because ive tried it locally into my computer and error say's i should intall the ASP.NET Session State SQL Server version 2.0 or above.

Very Basic Question - Error message running first page

Hi Everyone,

I am running Windows 7 and I have gone into Control Panel and activated all of the IIS Functions.

The web application I am running was downloaded from the net (and has worked on other machines previously).  Once I downloaded it, I moved it into C:/inetpub/wwwroot/code/main.asp

I am a bit of a novice at this!  But I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction!

I get the following error when I try and run the web application through IE:

"An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator. If you are the system administrator please click here to find out more about this error."

(When i click the "click here" button it just goes to the IIS site).

Appreciate any help I can get!

LDAP Problem with .NET - Unknown error (0x80005000)

I am trying to create a proof of concept to show how to connect to an LDAP
server and how to search for values but I do not get anywhere. Here is what I
have so far:

Dim objEntry As DirectoryEntry
Dim objSearcher As DirectorySearcher

objEntry = New DirectoryEntry("ldap://www.openldap.com/dc=OpenLDAP,dc=org",
Nothing, Nothing, AuthenticationTypes.Anonymous)

objSearcher = New DirectorySearcher(objEntry, "(ou=People)")
objSearchResult = objSearcher.FindOne()

If Not objSearchResult Is Nothing Then
'Do something
End If

Catch ex As Exception

result.Text = ex.Message & vbNewLine & ex.Source

End Try

My code fails at the line:
objSearchResult = objSearcher.FindOne()

with the unhelpfu error of Unknown error (0x80005000)

As you can see I use the www.openldap.com directory and I can connect
anonymously using the Softeerra LDAP Browser 2.5

Any help would be greatly appreciated

PS: I know there is already a similar thread (http://forums.asp.net/thread/1028020.aspx) but none of the suggeste

Localize framework message from xml validation error

I need to validate an XML through XSD. I am using XMLReader (with XmlReaderSettings and

Validation_EventHandler to do it). Depend on users preference, I would like to change the output message generated by  Validation_EventHandler in french or english.

Any idea on how to perform this?

Extreme ASP.NET: A New Solution to an Old State Storage Problem

State management in Web applications is a contentious issue. Should you store user data per session or should you persist it across sessions? You can easily store information temporarily while someone navigates your site by using session state.
