How to display related tables in one crystal report and how to link this report with combobox?

Hi! I want to display a crystal report in my vb.net application. Suppose I have tables named student details, student marks, student address, etc... Now if I want to display all these details (fields of all tables) in one crystal report (with page breaks if necessary) then how will I achieve it. I will be providing a combo box in my application that contains list of student names. How can I link this combo box with the cystal report to dynamically display report for different student on selected index change of combo box? Help me friends. An example would be appreciable.

ActiveX and Visual Basic: Enhance the Display of Long Text Strings in a Combobox or Listbox

The combobox and listbox controls in Visual Basic have no built-in support for displaying text strings that are too long to fit in the visible area of either control. This article describes several techniques to improve the readability of long strings in each control. The first technique uses tooltips to display a combobox or listbox item. The other techniques, which use various Windows APIs, include adding a horizontal scrollbar for a listbox and determining the necessary width of the longest string given the font attributes of the text. The required steps are described for both comboboxes and listboxes.

SharePoint 2007 Central Admin - blank page, isapimodule error in IIS

I've got a Windows 2008 SP2 server runing x64.

When i try to access the SharePoint Central Admin site, I just get a blank page. No errors in the Windows logs, nothing showing up in the SharePoint logs. The IIS log shows a 500 error.

I enabled Failed Request Tracing for the 500 status code, which gives me the following information:

ModuleName IsapiModule

Notification 128

HttpStatus 500

HttpReason Internal Server Error

HttpSubStatus 0

ErrorCode 2147942593

Blank Managing My Links Page for Just One User

I've got a single user who's not able to manage his links in MOSS 2007. The links I speak of are gotting to via http://<<your:mysite>>/_layouts/myquicklinks.aspx. Other users have no issue.

I read somewhere that this might be caused by the user in question having added an improperly formated link. My issue is how can I check for that condition and correct it? Any thoughst would be much appreciated.

Binding value to combobox or dropdown

How can we bind a value to a combobox or dropdown? What is the property for binding a value?

Maybe it's just late - HTMLEditor Content is always blank

Hi everyone - I'm new to the forum.  I searched around and couldn't find where anyone else has had this problem. (VB.net)

I have created a Class that Inherits the AjaxControlToolkit.HTMLEditor.Editor.  I override the FillTopToolbar and FillBottomToolbar.  I get the editor to display just fine.

It is a very simple form, that when a button is clicked, I have code in the code behind that would grab the Content from the Editor and process it.  The problem is that it doesn't matter what I type in, the Content retrieved is always, always Nothing or "".. it is mind boggling.  The control works in other areas of the application.

Here is the class:

blank row in HTML table?

is there any way to inset a couple of blank rows into an html table, or do I need to create a separate <table> with a couple of <br> in between?

Visual Studio 2010 Shows Blank Page during web development

I just upgraded a web project from VS2008 to VS2010 Ultimate (Windows7 64bit, IE8/Google Chrome. When I run the web project in the development server (by hitting F5) everything acts like it is supposed to except everything comes up blank. Even the directory structure page is blank, just an empty HTML open and close shell. I get no errors no indications of failure, nothing. When I try to use google chrome I get the same blank page no matter where I navigate to, even if I try to navigate to a non-existant location on the dev server. I know the code compiles and acts correctly because I can deploy it to our QA servers without issue. Any ideas?

Weird "string;#" in combobox

Ok, while I am digging and digging myself into the world that's called Sharepoint I come to the next challenge.

I have two lists Projects List and Project Issues. They both have an id field (which is not the ID field of the record) and a title. I created two calculated fields for both of the tables which combines the title and the number for displaying in other pages.

Projects List:

ProjectID: 2008-001

Project Name: First Project in 2008

Display Name (which is the calculated field): 2008-001 First Project in 2008

The calculated field formula is: =[ProjectID]&" "&[Project Name]

The field returns a string.

I also have a Worksheet list where my workers have to fill in their working hours. In this list I have two lookup fields. O

When editing a list item the fields are not blank.

This is a recent issue that I have in which I have a "Issue Tracking" List that maintains the workflow of contract renewals.

When an person goes to edit an existing list entry, the description field (standard) has the original text in the box. Prior to this the original - or any older text from a prior change was listed outside and just below the box - and non editable.

That's not the case anylonger.

Any thoughts?

Combobox and Enter key

I have added a combobox to my page. Listview is updated based on selection from combobox. It is working great except it does not fire when Enter is pressed. User has to click on option from dropdown or has to press tab key to have Listview to populate. I want the user to be able type use arrow key to select option and then press the enter key for event to fire.

SharePoint leaving Assigned To field blank in a Workflow Task

We are having an issue with occasional Tasks being created by a WF that have a blank Assigned to field.  Solution consists of:

  1. A form with a People picker field that allows the user to select and validate the Authoriser name.
  2. An Auto-start-on-New SP Designer workflow runs that does a "Collect Data from User action" and assigns the Task to the Authoriser.

Unfortunately, although this worked fine during dev and test, now the solution is live and we are having 150-200 requests per day, we are finding that the WF occasionally fails to fill in the Assigned To details when it creates the Task. (approx 8 failures per 200 requests, ie 4%).

As SharePoint already has the User data field, I am confused why this might fail, and there is no obvious pattern (same auth, 4 work OK then 1 failure).
Does SP contact the AD again when it creates the Task?

Anything else I should investigate? any suggested fix / work-arounds?

ComboBox text/value selection?

When we select a value from combobox list, we can get it by combobox.selectedvalue.text, however when we enter a new value in combobox, we can get it by combobox.text when submitting a form.  During submission, how will we handle this situation? Either there is a single way of getting value in both situations or we'll have to tackle both situations separately?

Please help me tackling this situation. Thanks
