I'm looking for some advise on how I could solve the problem I face, I have various instances of sqlexpress 2005 in different remote locations which are not accessible via internet vpn etc as they are all in corporate networks that will not allow access.
What I think I need to do is create some sort of process/service that can be installed on the client and run at a set time/date that collects all the data from theses instances and then push the changes to our remote instance of sql server. Can anyone possibly
point me in the right direction of various technologies I should be looking into to solve this problem. All clients would be running windows XP. I have been searching for a few day's but I can't find anything to get me going. If this is not the right forum
for this type of question can you suggest any?
I'm not sure how to structure the code for this but what I want to do is be able to add data to a database, and once this has completed successfully, then email the user to say the details have been added successfully to the database.
I need to:
1. Check that the relevant data has been added into the database then
2. Email the details of the relevant data when completed.
Thanks in advance for your help,
I have used the above method to configure my crystal report ...

SQL Server 2000 Meta Data Services is a repository technology that stores and manages metadata for SQL Server. Instead of building database schemas over and over, Meta Data Services allows you to freeze an entire schema for use in other projects. You can also use these schemas for training, testing, or debugging. In this article, the authors will review the various components of Meta Data Services and show how it can be programmed using a Visual Basic client, XML, and XSLT. They will also show you how to manage and manipulate your metadata by generating a simple database schema using a SQL Server repository.

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to submit data from a jQuery form to a ASMX webservice? I have gotten everything on the form ready to be submitted to the database and now I am stuck on how to send it over using $.ajax(). Everything I have read tells me how to get data from a webservice and display it with jQuery, but not the other direction nor how to access the json data within the within the webservice service(similar to a Request.Form approach with ASP.NET forms).
In other words:
1. What do I need to do to my webservice to make sure it can receive data from the jQuery form.
2. What do I need to do in jQuery to receive an acknowledgement the save on the server side was successful.
I can explain more if need be, but if there is a comprehensive tutorial on not only reading, but also WRITING data with jQuery, JSON, etc. I would love to get pointed in that direction.
I want to use gridview and bind the data and after i want insert the data in database using jquery,
below the link i got for delete
but i want the sample example for insert row from gridivew and add the database.
